Story
Hi! My name is Persy and I am a wonderful puppo! I LOVE tennis balls and since I am an all-weather gal, I don't mind plunging in the snow to get them. I am a compact 50ish lb. terrier-mix with a short coat, soft ears and cute terrier toes. I can be trusted when left alone to not get in the trash or shred your things, but I'd prefer to come with you as I am quiet and sit in my seat on car rides. I walk VERY gently on a leash and take teats just the same. I don't bark, even when I am feeling playful and silly, so I could live nicely in an apartment. I also don't get upset if you pick me up, or touch my tail, toes, ears or mouth, but I will probably give you a lick if you do. I am house broken and am probably smart enough to use a doggy door if you have one. I am learning to sit ... for bacon! With all my wonderful qualities, you are probably wondering why I am looking for my forever home at the beautiful age of 9. Unfortunately, my best friends are humans and only humans. I am very sweet with two-legged friends but am otherwise best described as dog and cat 'de-selective.' I need to be the 'only child,' but I promise to make it such a sweet, funny, easy time that you won't need anyone else. I am untested with kiddos, but will probably be fine with them.To meet me, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Jezebel is a sweet, spunky, and silly 60lb, 1 year old lab mix! She is potty trained, crate trained, and walks great on a leash. She loves going for walks, playing with toys, and cuddling on the couch. Jezebel is a typical young lab -- happy, eager to please, smart, and learns quickly. She is working on basic training and her manners, and is food motivated. Jezebel loves other dogs and all people. She would do great with an active family with a yard who will continue training to make her the best dog she can be. She has the best heart and most expressive eyes, her tail never stops wagging, and she is a complete lovebug. Story
This handsome boy is Roman! He is a two year old male lab/pit bull mix who is crate and house trained. Roman can be shy at first but when he warms up to you he'll want all your loving. He loves to have his head and belly rubbed the most. He is affection motivated and has been training easily because of it. He knows several commands like, sit, and is working hard to learn the rest. Roman loves the snow and will run crazy through it. Roman loves his people and likes to be near them and to snuggle. He is very cat curious and likes to follow them around trying to play with them. He has been good with other dogs, and can sometimes get jealous if they are getting loves and he's not. He has been good with young children, but his exposure had been limited so older children might be best. To meet Roman, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application! Story
Hi, hi, hi, and did I say hi? My name is Zinnia, but my friends call me Zinny! I am a one-year-old Lab X, and only weigh 40 lbs! I am the perfect Pocket Lab pup if you ask me! I may be a bit shy at first, but once I warm up to you, I'm as sweet as can be! The puppy in me still learning to trust humans, but I'm incredibly energetic and playful once I feel safe. Oh, and I love to howl -- it's my way of expressing myself! Sadly, I spent most of my life in an overcrowded Texas shelter, where I didn't get much interaction with humans. But I'm ready to leave that behind and find a loving home where I can thrive! I'm a big fan of squeaky toys, and bones -- they're just so much fun! My bestest home would be some awesome, active people who love to play with me, while still teaching and training me to be my best self! I adore other dogs, am crate and house-trained, and know plenty of tricks. I would need to have very respectful older kids, and am very curious about cats. Would you want to be mine?Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. Story
Kahlo (kah low) is a 5-month-old cattle dog mix puppy that is ready to find her forever home! Kahlo is a shy pup who comes to us from a local tribal reservation where she was discovered with a severe leg injury which required amputation however she has healed up well and is incredibly mobile! Kahlo takes a minute to warm up to new people, but with treats and time she is very sweet and loyal. Her favorite things are playing with her doggy friends and lounging in soft dog beds. She also loves toys, bones, belly rubs, and doing zoomies around the yard. She is house and crate trained, and super smart. She will need a family that can be patient and gentle with her while she continues to learn new things, like walking on a leash and riding in the car. Kahlo will do best in a home with a canine companion and a fenced in yard. Kahlo has a lot of love to give and will make a wonderful companion! If you'd like to meet Kahlo, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application.
