Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. We see a lot of dogs that come to us as strays from the shelter. Ambrosia is one of them and we are baffled at who would let this little girl go! This little Pyr mix is an absolute delight! Full of energy and spunk! She absolutely needs another dog in the home to play with but one who is very easy going and not too strong willed.  Ambrosia adores people, in fact if you don't pet her when she meets you she will whimper until you do! She is wonderful with kiddos too! This pocket Pyr mix is already house and crate trained and is ready for her forever home! Being fostered in Utah, don't wait to apply!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 26, 2026, 6:42 pm

Story
Meet Jane!Jane is a 4-year-old Shepherd mix weighing about 40 pounds, and she's the perfect blend of gentle, loving, and loyal. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people and may bark at strangers, she is not aggressive—just a good watchdog looking out for her family. One of Jane's best qualities is her sweet and affectionate nature. She loves spending time with her people, enjoys daily walks, and has a great time playing with other dogs. For a Shepherd mix, she's surprisingly calm and easygoing, making her a wonderful companion for a family looking for a steady, devoted friend.Jane has a medium energy level and would do best in a home with a yard where she can stretch her legs and enjoy some playtime each day. She's well-mannered on a leash and is nearly house trained, though she still benefits from regular reminders and a consistent routine. She occasionally chews on things, but it's rare and easily managed with appropriate toys and supervision.Jane gets along well with other dogs and would likely thrive with a canine companion in the home. Her compatibility with cats and children is currently unknown. Because she enjoys company and interaction, she is not a good candidate for being crated during a typical workday. If you're looking for a loyal, loving dog with a calm temperament, a playful side, and a watchful eye, Jane could be the perfect addition to your family. Her foster family's favorite thing about her is just how sweet and affectionate she is—once she trusts you, she'll be your devoted companion for life. ❤️Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Jane's adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting Jane, or another CAWS animal, please fill out an application here: http://caws.org/adoption-application. Story
Meet Axel!Axel is an ~11-month-old, 40 lb tricolor pittie/labrador mix with the gentlest, most affectionate personality. He loves being close to his people (he’ll happily follow you from room to room) and spends much of the day snoozing nearby, often tucked under a desk while you work.Axel has made huge strides in foster care in just a couple of weeks. Inside the home, he’s doing amazing: playful during playtime, very food-motivated, and starting to build independence. He’s also making great progress with potty training, especially when he has access to a private outdoor space. He loves other dogs and has done incredibly well in homes with multiple dogs: playing, running, and curling up to nap with them. Because of this, he would likely thrive in a home with another well-adjusted dog to help continue building his confidence.Axel can be a bit timid in new environments and is still gaining confidence on leash, but he’s curious and improving every day. He’s also working through some separation anxiety, but has already made nice progress and is learning to settle with time.Overall, Axel is incredibly sweet, gentle, affectionate, and playful, and truly just wants love and connection. He would do best in a home with a yard and adopters who can offer patience, structure, and continued training as he builds confidence (plus lots of snuggles!).Axel is already such a special dog, and with time and consistency, he’s only going to grow into an even more incredible, loving companion.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet Eddie: a 3-year-old Lab mix who brings 60 pounds of pure love, sweetness, and tail-wagging charm. With his handsome face and striking green eyes, Eddie has gentle giant energy in the very best way. He is calm, respectful, and incredibly sweet with everyone he meets. Dogs of all ages and sizes? Yes, please. Kids and cats? Eddie says, “The more friends, the better.” Eddie also comes with top-tier good-boy manners. He is quiet and submissive, crate trained, nearly house trained, and has no destructive habits or separation anxiety. In other words, he is ready to slide right into your routine like he has been there all along. He has the perfect “let’s have fun, then let’s chill” personality. Eddie is happy to hike, romp with dog friends, enjoy yard time, or light up the moment you grab his favorite toy for a game of fetch. Once the fun winds down, he is equally happy to park himself on his bed while you get things done or claim a cozy spot near the couch for TV time. Most of all, Eddie is a professional people-lover. He likes to stay close, soak up pets, and gently place his paws on your thigh when he thinks the petting session ended far too soon. If you love big dogs with even bigger hearts, Eddie might just be your dream come true.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. She has so much love to give and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, sweet best friend. This angel is ready to spend her golden years by your side. Come meet Rosie today—you might just fall in love.

Bowie is an 8-month-old Golden Lab mix born on September 14, 2025. His parents were a Golden Retriever and a Black Lab. He’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loves being around people. He’s a big cuddle bug and always wants to be close to his person. He gets along well with other dogs, though he can be a little shy at first and just needs a moment to warm up. Once comfortable, he loves to play and does great at the dog park. He has also been around cats and is gentle/respectful with them. Bowie is smart and knows quite a few commands including: • Sit • Lay down • Spin • Paw • Touch • Off • Back • Toy • Soft (gentle taking) He walks well with a front-clip harness and is very people-oriented. He’s still young, so he has puppy energy and is continuing to learn and improve every day.

Story
Meet Tigger, a Basset Hound "wannabe." Tigger's story almost ended too soon. He landed on the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter alongside his Basset buddy. Thankfully, UFBH stepped in and saved them both. Once in rescue, we discovered they weren't bonded, so Tigger is ready to find his very own family.Full of life and charm, Tigger is bursting with energy. He loves romping and wrestling with the dogs in his foster home; always ready for the next round of play. He's smart, responsive to training, and eager to please; an adventurous spirit with a bright mind. Tigger would thrive in a home that can keep up with his zest for life; one where he can run, play, learn new things, and be part of the action. Above all, Tigger loves people. He'll never say no to toys, games, or a good cuddle session after a day of fun. This handsome boy is ready to bring laughter, adventure, and unconditional love to the lucky family who opens their heart to him.
