Story

Sophie is a tiny 15 year old Maltese Poodle mix weighing just under 8 pounds. She is polite gentle and very sweet. Her favorite place is simply near her person. She coexists well with other small dogs and has an easygoing presence. Sophie came into rescue when her owner could no longer care for her. It took her a few days to adjust but she is settling in beautifully and showing her soft affectionate personality. Her eyesight is good and her hearing is still fairly strong for her age. She does have a heart murmur but is not on any medication at this time. She doesn't love being left alone so we are hoping to find her a calm quiet home where someone is around most of the time. Sophie is a lovely little soul looking for comfort companionship and a soft place to land for her golden years. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications! 2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. We may not be able to respond to applications that are not completely filled out with the proper information. Side note: on our applications, the more details you provide = the better. 3. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply. Story

Ryan is a 1.5 year old Maltese that I brought home last year. It pains me, but my work schedule and other demands on my life have brought me to the place where it seems I am unable to give Ryan the level of care he needs and deserves. He is a very good dog and is house trained. When he is home with me I take him out about 4-5 times a day. He is very playful with other dogs but does exhibit some leash aggression in that he wants to say hi to every dog he sees but if he can’t because of the leash, he’ll start barking and lashing out. He’s been slowly improving on this though.He does have some level of separation anxiety where as soon as you leave him alone in the house you’ll hear him bark but after a few minutes he calms down and can stay alone.Other than those two things, he’s usually very calm around the house and sleeps most of the time. However, he does love to play and loves dog parks and going with you wherever you go. Happy to discuss any questions over a chat!

✅️Currently located in South Korea✅️ Meet Noah🤍 💙 Noah’s Account: @aki.noa.sushi 1. Health • Neutering/Spaying: Completed • Other: Microchipped; had bladder stone surgery and molar extraction. Fully blind in one eye due to cataracts. Experiences coughing when temperatures drop, requiring steroid medication if coughing occurs. Has partial hearing loss. All teeth except molars have been extracted, so he cannot eat hard treats. 2. Rescue Story • Noah was rescued from a breeding facility alongside Aji and Aki before Adogs officially formed. He was adopted, but after his adopter passed away suddenly in September 2024, Noah returned to Adogs. He is looking for a family to help him overcome his grief and begin a new chapter of life. 3. Personality & Habits • With People: Very affectionate and sweet, loves both strangers and familiar people, and often approaches first asking for pets. • With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs, both familiar and new friends. May show cute jealousy if another dog gets attention. • Separation Anxiety: Calm when left with Aki, though Aki has separation anxiety that affects Noah. If left with another dog or person, he waits quietly. • House Training: Fully pee pad trained (100% accuracy), though he prefers pooping outdoors. He tends to pee near the edge of the pad, so surrounding it with a fence or holder is helpful. • Hygiene/Grooming: Very calm and well-behaved during baths, drying, and brushing. • Walking on Leash: Walks well on a leash without pulling and keeps pace nicely. 4. Special Notes • May bark briefly when a stranger enters the room for the first time. In the evenings, he may bark for 5 minutes normally, or 20–30 minutes if he has extra energy. • Has a strong food drive and eats quickly when excited for meals, so feeding slowly and calmly is recommended.

Meet Ivory! Ivory, 4yo and 15lb, was described as unsure and anxious at the shelter, but once she is in a place where she feels safe her whole personality changes! Ivory feels much more confident when she is around other dogs and in a safe environment. She likes to follow them around at first to get comfortable with her surroundings. Once she is feeling more confident she will be less timid towards her person(it only took a day for her to feel comfortable with her foster mom). Ivory will then become a little white cloud following behind you. She is very easy going and will lay down and rest if you need to do work. Or will play if you toss a toy around with her. She loves her ears scratches and her tummy rubbed. She is also a big fan of cheese!Ivory is a good walker on leash. She does her buisness outside no problem. She doesn't seem startled by loud noises or busy streets. She will just keep charging ahead while getting lots of sniffs in along the way. She will get the zoomies and hop around when she gets excited. She likes to run back and forth after you or the other dogs. A home with another dog that has medium energy would be ideal for Ivory. She would love a companion to hang out with and also to play with when she's in her fiesty mood. Also is best for her to have a dog friend to stay home with if you go into work to keep her company. Ivory is a sweet girl that somehow ended up lost and anxious at the shelter but is looking to feel confident and comfortable in her new forever home soon!
