Story
Meet Mia Bella! 🐾 Mia Bella is a beautiful 2-year-old Boxer/Mastiff mix weighing 66 pounds. This sweet girl came to Anderson Humane from a partner shelter in Louisiana alongside her nine puppies. Now that her puppies are growing up, it's finally Mia Bella's turn to find the loving forever home she deserves. Mia Bella is a gentle, easygoing companion with a heart full of love. She may take a little time to feel comfortable with new people—especially men—but once you've earned her trust, she'll be your biggest fan. Cuddles, affection, and spending time by your side are some of her favorite things, and her serious expression is simply deceiving—deep down, she just wants to be your best friend. This lovely girl enjoys treats, toys, and relaxing outside, soaking up the fresh air at her own pace. She's crate-trained, potty-trained, and wonderfully quiet, making her an easy addition to the home. Mia Bella is also a fast learner who loves to please and is already making great progress with cues like sit, paw, down, and stay. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will reward your patience with endless love and cuddles, Mia Bella is ready to steal your heart. When Mia Bella arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter, she tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm-positive dogs like Mia Bella to recover and complete treatment is in a loving forever home. If you choose to adopt Mia Bella, our clinic staff will support you every step of the way by answering questions and providing guidance throughout her treatment. The process generally takes about three months and involves some simple at-home care to help keep her safe while she recovers. The final step is a follow-up test six months after treatment begins. The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful, and the staff anticipates that Mia Bella will make a full recovery! It's also important to know that Heartworm can only be transmitted from animal to animal through mosquito bites. If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate companion with lots of love to give, Mia Bella is ready to meet you! Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.

Nell - Female Mastiff/Terrier Mix (Breed and size at full growth are best guess only) Date of Birth 8/21/26 Hello!  My name is Nell.  I am a beautiful, soft, mixed breed puppy filled with love, affection, and playfulness.  I enjoy playing with my puppy sister and initiate play with my foster’s dog.  I love playing with kids as well but can nip because I’m a puppy.  I am curious, playful, and energetic.  I enjoy chewing on bones, tugging with my puppy sister on a rope toy, running around the backyard, and exploring.  I am very affectionate and love to be by humans.  When I am not playing, I enjoy cuddling up for a nap.  I am doing very well with potty training and will let my foster parents know when I need to go outside.  I am smart and loving. WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Thank you for considering the adoption of one of our rescue dogs. We are committed to finding our rescues the perfect home. Together we can make a difference in the life of a dog. The adoption process should be a fun and exciting time for families and dogs. Our goal is to place our babies in forever homes. The potential adopter needs to be dedicated to their care and training for life. Understand that sharing your life with a dog can be a commitment of 15+ years. This would include feeding, exercise, training, vetting, and providing a loving home. Ask yourself, "Am I ready for this type of commitment?" If you are ready, we are here to help. We do have some requirements to help us find the perfect placement of our babies. WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE ONLY. WE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL BUILDING 1. Apply online at https://www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family (including other dogs) to approve an adoption. Only a final approval for adoption can take place after a successful meet and greet. This is done by appointments only. We will not proceed with the adoption if everyone has not met the dog. This will allow others the opportunity to adopt the dog. 2. Adopters MUST be 25 years old. Information on all adults/members living in the home is required We REQUIRE you to provide proof and vet reference that all current and past pets have been kept up to date on all routine medical. 3. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, 4. If you do not own your home, you must provide landlord contact information on the application and a copy of your lease that outlines the rules for dog ownership in your residence. Large breed dogs will not be adopted into apartment settings or where there are breed/ size restrictions. Puppies have special needs and require a home where someone is available to care for, socialize, and give basic training. If you are gone for more than a couple hours at a time, please consider adopting a teen or older dog. 5. Adoption fees are $450.00. We accept Zelle, Cash or Checks. (Prices are subject to change without notice). 6. All dogs and puppies adopted through Forever Home are fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines. Keep in mind once you take possession of your newly adopted dog, any and all future medical costs or care is YOUR responsibility. 7. A deposit of an extra 50.00 will be required until a class has been completed, it will then be returned. 8. Story
Rocky - Male Mastiff/Terrier Mix (Breed and size at full growth are best guess only) Date of Birth 8/21/26 Rocky and his siblings had a rough start in life when they were brought to an Alabama shelter in a box without their mom. Now this adventurous little guy is ready for his next big adventure: finding his forever family! Rocky is playful, curious, and loves hanging out with other dogs. He’s always up for a good play session and is a food-motivated boy, which can be a big plus when it comes to training! Rocky would make a wonderful companion for a family looking for a fun-loving pup to grow with. Could Rocky be the missing piece of your family? ❤️🐾 WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Thank you for considering the adoption of one of our rescue dogs.
