Meet Chris Pratt! This handsome 2-year-old Pit Bull is ready to find his forever home. He`s a male and weighs in at 58 lbs. Chris loves people and wants attention from all staff, and will even try crawling in your lap for more cuddles! He knows sit and shake/paw commands and loves chasing toys (but he`s still learning to return them). He walks easily on a loose leash and often jumps up out of enthusiasm, though it`s just for attention. Although he has medium energy, Chris is very friendly and easy-going. LADY LIVES IN DENVER, CO. WE DO NOT LIVE IN TX. Originally rescued in 2017, we have loved our time together. However, as she gets up in her years and my schedule gets busier it's felt cruel to pull her along. She is a big o' lazy girl, very well house behaved, she's not one to bark or growl at noises from outside, and she'll likely enjoy napping with in your line of site and the occasional dog safe peanut butter treat!

Nash was found wandering the streets of Arlington but no one came for him.  His shelter 'before' pictures are included, and it's hard to believe this is the same dog!  He went from malnourished, scared and shaking to outgoing and friendly within his first week of freedom. He was adopted by a wonderful family but over the last couple years their family dynamic has changed and they do not feel Nash is best suited in a home with babies/toddlers. He likes his toys and his snacks so in a home where little ones do not understand those boundaries, it’s not the best match for Nash. He does well with kids but we do recommend teenage or older because they can understand his boundaries.  Nash has turned out to be a very loving, affectionate boy, who is now both house trained and crate trained.  He takes treats gently.  He is doing great with basic training but is still working on manners and learning to walk on a leash.  Nash does well with dogs of all sizes although he would also be very happy as an only dog. Nash is heartworm negative, he has been neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and is ready for his forever home. Due to an injury on this tail that continued being re-injured due to his constant tail wagging, we did have to amputate it and now he has an adorable little nub that he is able to wag furiously! Meet Bulma! She is a 6 yr old spayed female plott hound mixed breed that weighs 57lbs. She came in as a stray on 1/9 to the Mesquite Animal Shelter. This beautiful girl has such a laid back, calm and gentle personality. She is very well mannered, walks well on a leash, takes treats gently, knows the sit command and may be house trained. She loves everyone she meets, and will show you her tummy too! She has a charisma about her that the moment you meet her, you just want to spend more time with her. She is a shelter favorite, a volunteer favorite, so you know she is very special. Bulma was adopted on 6/17 and returned on 6/18. All dogs need decompression time, at a minimum of 2 weeks. Bulma is also dog selective and sadly, with less than 24 hrs given to her, her prior adopters did not feel it was a good fit. Once you spend time with her, you will see how much love she has to give, and will understand why you would only need one pup in your life. She would do great in a less active household. When we spend time with her, she enters one of our rooms that has a big dog bed and gets comfy for some cuddling time. You can see in her eyes how hopeful she is that her forever family will read this evaluation, see the pictures and video and realize Bulma is the one for you! Having her own backyard to run and play in, then to come back inside where she can sit close on the couch, watching a favorite TV show, Bulma is your girl!
