Let me introduce you to Eddie, an interesting mixture of possibly Sharpei/lab/pit that arrived as a stray at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/29. Though he is not one of our longer-term residents, he would still be thrilled to leave the confines of his kennel and get settled into his dream home. He weighs 66 pounds, is about 2 years old and is neutered. One of our volunteers described him as a big love bug, a sweet, affectionate, happy, tail-wagging fellow. He's got a lot of personality! He loves toys and during his eval he was accumulating them from our toybox and playing with them. Eddie likes treats, will sit for them and takes them nicely. He does jump on you occasionally but not excessively. He's a happy-go-lucky fellow that is amiable and fun-loving. There's a lot to like about Eddie. He walks ok on a leash, but does have a strong pull. He may be house trained as he pottied in the yard. He would undoubtedly enjoy walks or perhaps become a good running buddy. He will need some good decompression time and separation from other family pets in order to acclimate. This is something every dog should be given. Oh, and high on the priority list of his dream home, he would like to be an integral part of the family circle. Living as an outside dog is not the dream home for any dog.

Meet Harper! Harper is 7 weeks old and currently weighs 10 pounds. We think she’s some sort of sharpei bully mix. But whatever she is she’s the cutest ball of wrinkles we’ve ever seen! Just look at that crinkle face! She has a silly personality; full of humor and energy, she loves playtime, cuddles, the company of other dogs, and her people. She has amazing puppy breath and gives the sweetest kisses! Her foster family is working with her on crate training, potty training, and some basic commands and she is catching on quickly!
