Meet Squidgy! Squidgy is a rambunctious, playful Pomeranian/Shih Tzu mix born in February 2023. He may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he’s comfortable, he loves to play, hang out, and soak up attention. He can also be incredibly sweet and cuddly! Squidgy does wonderfully with both dogs and cats—sometimes a little too well! He loves playing with them so much that they occasionally get tired of keeping up with him. He is not currently microchipped or neutered and is due for updated vaccinations. He has had some food-related guarding in the past, so a patient owner willing to continue positive, consistent training would be ideal. We are expecting a baby and, with a heavy heart, feel that Squidgy would thrive best in a home that can give him the time, love, attention, and exercise he deserves. We want to find him a loving forever home where he can continue to be his happy, playful self. ❤️

Meet Zoey, Zoey has had a heartbreaking start to life. She and her three brothers were rescued from a hoarding and neglect situation in South Texas, where they were used mostly for breeding and lived in terrible conditions. When she was rescued, Zoey was severely matted, covered in fleas, and suffering from painful skin issues. During her spay surgery, it was also discovered that she had a large bladder stone that was causing constant bladder pressure and blood in her urine. In July, Zoey was transferred to the DFW area to obtain surgery to remove her bladder stone and continue her recovery while waiting for her forever family. Zoey is estimated to be about three years old. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, heartworm tested (negative), microchipped, current on flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention with a pro-heart 6 injection. Like most Shih Tzus, she does have allergies so she will require on-going meds to keep her comfortable. She will also require prescription dog food for life due to her bladder history to ensure she does not develop another bladder stone. Zoey would prefer a family that is home more often than not, but she has good manners in public, so she is happy to go with you. She walks easily on a leash, sleeps thru the night in a dog bed and loves to sit on your lap to cuddle. She is dog friendly and enjoys playing with the other dogs in her foster home especially when they are close to her size. She is potty trained and an extremely sweet, loving little girl who would make an amazing companion. She also just got a groom so she is looking and feeling her best! We have been fostering a pet for an elder family member with health issues, who is no longer able to care for his pet. Unfortunately, we are unable to keep him due to our busy work and travel schedules. Bud is sweet and a good dog, but he's experiencing some separation anxiety. He wants to be near you all the time. He indicates when he needs to go outside, and he's good with people and good with kids. He's not used to the concept of going on walks, but he likes walks.... he just prefers to do his business in the back yard vs on a walk.
