Story

Boomer's Story ALL PETS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION ONLY TO RESIDENTS OF THE DALLAS/FT WORTH METROPLEX MEET AND GREET APPOINTMENTS SET UP WITH PRE-APPROVED APPLICATION ONLY! Boomer was fostered and adopted by a wonderful family about a year and a half ago thru RT4P. They love him but it has become very evident that a home without kids would be best for him. He is super sweet the majority of the time but he gets spooked by the kids in the home and he tries to bite because it’s his only way to defend himself he thinks. Boomer likes to sniff any new folks he meets before being petted. He loves attention but he needs to make sure you are ok first. Nothing wrong with that! We would love to see Boomer in a home where he can relax and not be on edge. He is such a cute fella we know he is going to find a home that is suited for him! Please share him with any of your Shih Tzu loving friends and let’s find him a home! Applicants must live in DFW - the first step in the process is to complete an application. Please go to roadtrip4paws.com and click on the Adopt tab to find a link to our online application. We reserve the right to refuse placement of an animal for any reason

Story

Bella's a playful and loving 4 year old pup. She loves cats and attention. She does not like other dogs though. She was raised with cats and think she is one. She is house trained. But we have always kept her out of rooms that have carpet because when she was a puppy she did pee on the carpet but never on our tile or hardwood floors. Our last son that was born is highly allergic to dogs. We hate to rehome her but she is a great dog. She would do well with somebody that is home all the time because she would not do well being crate trained.

Story

Note: This is a bonded pair that must stay together. Rory (female) and Boris (male), 7 yrs old, are sweet and snuggly. They are littermates and half Beagle, half ShihTzu. Rory weighs 22 lbs and Boris weighs 19 lbs. They are up to date on their shots and are spayed/neutered. We take them to the vet regularly and aren’t aware of any medical issues. They are fully house trained and can be left alone for a full workday without issues. Rory and Boris love playing together, being outside, getting treats, attention, and getting pets. Rory does great with kids of all ages, dogs, and cats. Boris has has bitten our 3 year old 3 times (no broken skin). She gets in his face which stresses him out. He’s been around many other toddlers and older kids in his life without issue. We are looking for a family with older kids, a couple, or a single person who will love and care for these special dogs. We would appreciate occasional pics and updates. Pic 2 is Boris and 3 is Rory

Story

Meet “Material Girl” Taffeta! Sweet Taffeta is a 7-year-old girl who is still learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. She is a very shy, scared little girl, but we’re already seeing glimpses of the sweet dog underneath that uncertainty. Taffeta is learning so much by watching the other dogs around her. Their confidence is helping her discover that she doesn’t have to be afraid, and she is making progress every day. We’re still getting to know this precious girl, but we have a feeling it won’t be long before she realizes that people can be trusted and starts making her way over for some love. Taffeta will need a patient, understanding family who will give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell. She may not be the girl who runs up to greet you on day one, but watching a shy dog learn to trust and blossom is one of the most rewarding things in rescue. She may be a little scared right now, but this little Material Girl has plenty of love waiting to be discovered. Taffeta is still writing her story—and we can't wait to see how beautiful it becomes. Please apply at tzuzoorescue.com if you are interested in adopting from Tzu Zoo Rescue. More information available by contacting tzrinquiries@tzuzoorescue.com. [NOTE: We are a rescue NOT a shelter, meaning WE DO NOT HAVE A FACILITY THAT OPENS TO THE PUBLIC. Typically, an application and home visit (both of which are required for adoption) MUST be completed, BEFORE a potential adopter will be introduced to one of our pets, in order to first determine that our basic adoption requirements are met, prior to introductions being made. We also utilize personal reference and vet checks (to ensure that any pets already in the potential adoptive home are current on vaccines, heart worm prevention and sterilized) in our adoption process, all of which is intended to ensure that the best match, between pet and people, is made. The adoption fee is based on on the dog's age.

She is learing about toy and treats.
