She gets along with older kids and other dogs really well unless there is food around then she tends to be growly. She is crate trained and uses the doggy door in her foster home to potty. Bella is a light Heartworm positive so we are looking for a foster or foster to adopt who can see her thru her treatment the next couple of months. A calm home would be ideal. Meet Zoey, Zoey has had a heartbreaking start to life. She and her three brothers were rescued from a hoarding and neglect situation in South Texas, where they were used mostly for breeding and lived in terrible conditions. When she was rescued, Zoey was severely matted, covered in fleas, and suffering from painful skin issues. During her spay surgery, it was also discovered that she had a large bladder stone that was causing constant bladder pressure and blood in her urine. In July, Zoey was transferred to the DFW area to obtain surgery to remove her bladder stone and continue her recovery while waiting for her forever family. Zoey is estimated to be about three years old. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, heartworm tested (negative), microchipped, current on flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention with a pro-heart 6 injection. Like most Shih Tzus, she does have allergies so she will require on-going meds to keep her comfortable. She will also require prescription dog food for life due to her bladder history to ensure she does not develop another bladder stone. Zoey would prefer a family that is home more often than not, but she has good manners in public, so she is happy to go with you. She walks easily on a leash, sleeps thru the night in a dog bed and loves to sit on your lap to cuddle. She is dog friendly and enjoys playing with the other dogs in her foster home especially when they are close to her size. She is potty trained and an extremely sweet, loving little girl who would make an amazing companion. She also just got a groom so she is looking and feeling her best! Perry’s foster family reports that he has been the easiest houseguest! He is now ready to begin searching for his forever home. Perry is a calm and easygoing dog. He spends most of his day lounging around, but he will also engage in play time. He loves playing with toys and will sometimes try to play with another small dog. He is an independent boy, but when he wants attention, he’s not shy to show it. He will gently put his front two legs up and soak in all the pets he can. He also has the best house manners, as he is quiet, potty trained, and kennel trained. Perry could go to a home as an only dog or with another small calm dog(s) who matches his energy level. He is not a good fit for children under high school age. His current foster home doesn’t have cats, but the area we rescued him from has plenty, so he may be fine with cats. Perry is a 2 year old Shih Tzu/Poodle/Miniature Schnauzer mix weighing 14.8 lbs.
