Story
Ari is being fostered in PA. 5-12-2025 Ari did very well with her dental and lumpectomy. She had 12 teeth removed and her mass was benign. An update on her personality and potty skills: Ari is very predictable with her potty habits and only goes about 3 times a day. She sleeps completely through the night, eats her breakfast and then does her business so she can easily be taken outside to eliminate before her breakfast at lunch and then around her dinner time. If she does get up in the middle of her naps or at night, she will eliminate on a potty pad if it’s placed right by her bed. She adores lying beside her foster mom on the sofa and will nudge her hand for pets. She has yet to make a peep in her foster home. Ari is also has the softest fur ever! Little Ari is guessed to be about 12 years old and appears to be a shih tzu mix. She is a quiet, gentle, passive, loveable girl who loves her meals and can sleep like no other! She gets along well with other dogs, cats, and people of all ages. She simply ignores other dogs and cats in her foster home and needs to be in a home with gentle pets and children because it does not appear like she will defend or stick up for herself. She is just as happy to snuggle up on the sofa as she is to find her bed for the day on the floor. She seems to enjoy sniffing all she can when she’s outside but may not make the best walk buddy, as she’d rather meander and smell things. She rides well in the car and tolerates her foster mom’s kisses very well. Ari is completely blind since she has no eyes and her hearing is poor. Her foster mom keeps a potty pad close to her bed so when she gets up from her nap, she has it to potty on when her mom is working. She will not indicate a need to go out to potty. She will need to be carried outside but does fine exploring once she’s out. She cannot go up or down stairs by herself. She will have a dental and a lumpectomy of a non-cancerous mass on her cheek on May 9th and will be ready to find her forever home shortly after. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Mabel is settling back into her foster home after being returned by her family, who couldn’t take her when they moved out of state. While we may never fully understand Mabel’s past, it’s clear she’s endured some unkindness—she finds no comfort in human touch and prefers to keep her distance when it comes to physical affection. That said, Mabel still wants to be near you. She’ll quietly follow you around the house, never making a sound. She quickly picks up on routines and will even do a little happy dance at mealtime—especially if Cheerios, her favorite treat, are involved. Mabel is looking for a calm, patient home with one or two adults who will give her the time, space, and understanding she needs to feel safe. While she may never seek out cuddles or affection, we hold hope that, in the right home, she might learn to enjoy gentle connection. Mable just had a senior blood panel at Livewell Animal Hospital and everything looked great! Mable does well with both dogs and cats, travels quietly in a crate in the car, and reliably uses the yard for potty breaks with regular outings. Her hearing and vision aren’t what they used to be—common for her age—and she has arthritis that’s managed with a daily supplement to ease her gait and keep her comfortable. Mable is a 9 year old, 15 lb, Shih Tzu mix. If you’d like to learn more about Mabel, please reach out or apply to adopt her at www.rescuerowinc.org *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash, check made out to Rescue Row or Zelle / Venmo): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2013758##
