Story
Meet Indie, our sweet and spunky 2.5-year-old Shorkie! Indie is a true lap dog who thrives on attention and affection. While she weighs only 8 lbs, she has the heart and confidence of a 50lb dog—she is completely fearless and incredibly alert. With her extraordinary hearing, she makes an excellent, vigilant watchdog who will always let you know when someone is at the door. Indie is house-trained, well-versed in using a doggy door, and loves showing off her tricks. She is a quick learner who is always eager to pick up new skills. Because she prefers to be the center of attention, she would be the perfect companion for a mature adult in a home without other pets or young children. We love her dearly, but as we already have another dog, we’ve realized she would be happiest as an only pet where she can get all the love she deserves.

Story
Read through completely before applying! Meet Paul! Paul has Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), a neurological condition that makes him a little wobbly and unsteady on his feet. CH is not painful, and it doesn’t affect his happy, loving personality or his ability to enjoy life. Life with a dog with CH is often much easier than people expect. Dogs with CH simply have their own unique way of getting around and quickly learn how to navigate their environment. A home for Paul should include: • Non-slip flooring such as rugs, yoga mats, or runners to help provide traction and prevent slipping on tile or hardwood floors. • No access to stairs unless they are safely blocked off with baby gates. • A safe environment with soft bedding and padded areas where he spends time. • Raised food and water bowls, which can make mealtime easier for some CH dogs. • Patient, understanding adopters who appreciate that he may do some things a little differently. • A moderate activity level with supervised playtime to help prevent falls or injuries. The biggest thing Paul needs is a family willing to look past his wobble and see the amazing dog underneath. He does not require constant medical care because of his condition, and CH is not progressive, meaning it will not get worse over time. He simply needs a safe, loving home where he can thrive and be accepted for who he is. Per Wisdom Panel, Paul is a Yorkie, Biewer Terrier, and Shih Tzu mix. He is 2 years old and ready to find a family that will love him just the way he is. If you’re interested in adopting this special little guy, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 3 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows paid by cash, a check made out to Rescue Row, Venmo: @Rescue-Row or at Zelle: info@rescuerowinc.org Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2725995##

Strawberry is as sweet as can be! And those eyes 😍 Her skin is slowly getting better and I think she will do amazing in a house with another dog sibling since she LOVES to play with other dogs. Her future family is going to be so lucky to have a pup like her. Sweet strawberry is looking and feeling so much better!! This girl LOVES to play with other dogs and has one of the best personalities. Very easy going and sleeps wonderfully in her kennel at night. She also loves to go for walks and is very vocal if her food is not served on time. Love watching this girl blossom 😍

Story
DFW AREA APPLICATIONS ONLY* DOB: 4/23/26 Weight: approx. 10-15 lbs. full-grown Milo was purchased from a breeder and surrendered to Legacy Humane Society after his owner discovered they were highly allergic to him. We're now searching for his forever family!  Puppies are playful, active, and loving. They need someone will lots of time and patience to raise them to be the best adult dogs they can be. Since Milo is just a pup, he will get along with everyone - dog, cats, and kids. We recommend a home without small children due to his fragile size.  Milo doesn't shed but will require regular, professional grooming and consistent brushing to stay happy and healthy. Shih Tzus are also prone to dental disease and require routine professional dental care as well as at-home teeth brushing. Please consider these added expenses before applying.  $600 donation includes three rounds of puppy vaccines, dewormer, a one-year rabies vaccine, microchip and registration, and spay/neuter. Adopter will take the puppy to an LHS-approved vet to be spayed/neutered at 16 weeks of age per the spay/neuter agreement and in accordance with Chapter 828, Texas Health and Safety Code. Please complete an adoption application and someone will reach out to you within 48 hours via email. https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ *Due to the high volume of applications and inquiries for puppies, we will not be able to respond to or consider interest from those outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
