Petty is a new arrival .He was at a local shelter and in danger of being put down. His owner dropped him off at a shelter and said she found him as a stray so the shelter would take him. Poor Guy! He took a minute to warm up on the way out of the shelter but in five minutes he was laying his head in our lap. He is super sweet. He seems to like calm dogs and not dogs that jump around alot. He only weighs 24 lbs and is about 11 months old. We aren't sure what breed he is but he was recently shaved and will most likely have fluffy hair like his face. ##2613545##

Daisy is new to our rescue. She came to us when her breeder closed down. We are still learning about her personality. Her foster says that she is great with dogs of all sizes and adores children. She walks well on a leash and is crate trained. She was a little on the thin side and her foster has been giving her extra snack to help her put on a few pounds. Daisy is AKC registered. He’s doing great with his potty training and continues to impress his foster family with how quickly he learns. Meet Kodi — proof that age is just a number. At 12 years old and just 6.5 pounds, Kodi is the kind of loyal, low-maintenance companion dreams are made of. He’s house-trained (even in the rain!), sleeps quietly through the night in his crate, and quickly mastered the doggie door like the smart little guy he is. Kodi loves nothing more than being near you—happily curled up at your side or trotting along on a walk, just glad to be included. He is gentle, calm, and full of life, with so much love left to give. He eats only canned food due to his lack of teeth and his age. Kodi didn’t deserve to be surrendered to a shelter by his owner but now he’s ready to be someone’s whole world. Maybe yours? We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Meet Perla — a petite senior sweetheart whose gentle presence and joyful little moments make every day brighter. Perla is low-energy overall and perfectly content being your quiet companion. She enjoys short bursts of play, but her favorite place is curled up right beside her people. Whether you’re working, reading, or moving around the house, Perla will happily keep you company — often following along quietly just to stay close. She has some truly endearing quirks that make her extra special. Perla adores her stuffed bunny, which she carries around the house and snuggles with. And in the mornings, she celebrates the day in the cutest way — by pouncing into the nearest pile of leaves, rolling around, and letting out a little howl as if she’s greeting the world. It’s impossible not to smile watching her start her day. Perla is fully potty trained and even adds a bit of entertainment to her routine with a quick 30-second zoomie session and a tiny “song” before heading out. She does great in her crate and will politely let you know when she needs to go outside in the morning. While she can feel a bit nervous if a large dog approaches her kennel, she does well with other dogs in general and this is something her foster is actively helping her work through. She rides well in the car — a little whining at first, then settling in and usually falling asleep. In public settings like the vet’s office and when visitors come over, Perla has been friendly, social, and eager to make new friends. Perla does well with other dogs and seems especially comfortable with smaller pups. She has happily coexisted with both a large female dog and a tiny male dog, showing playful interest and enjoying snuggles with the smaller dog. She has also done well with cats in a previous foster home, remaining aware but not overly engaged. Currently healing from recent medical procedures, Perla is ready to find a loving home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by comfort, patience, and affection. If you’re looking for a gentle, low-key companion with a sweet soul and just the right touch of playful charm, Perla may be the perfect addition to your family.

We acquired him as a puppy from a very established breeder as a birthday gift, and he has been raised in a loving home. He is currently 2 years old. He is a toy poodle with a beautiful chocolate multi-colored coat and two different colored eyes, one blue and one brown, which makes him very unique. He is extremely sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented. He has also been a wonderful emotional support animal (ESA). He is very intuitive, comforting, and enjoys being close to his person. He is very active and loves daily walks, outdoor time, and play, but he also loves to eat and is food-motivated, which makes him responsive to training and routines. He is potty trained and knows basic command words. We are looking for a responsible, permanent home that understands the needs of a small, active dog and can provide regular exercise, affection, and a stable environment. Ideally, we would love a family who would be open to sharing occasional photo updates, as this decision was not easy.
