Asher is a very handome, regal dog.  He prances around like a show dog, and runs and jumps like a reindeer! He wasn't previously owned by anyone that cared too much about him. He lived outdoors and he is currently heartworm positive and is doing well under treatment. He was severely matted when found and was shaved, so he may be a little cold when you meet him with the close trim. He weighs 48 lbs and is about 2 to 3 years old. You wouldn't know he had a hard life based on how sweet and cuddly he is. He thinks he's a lap dog! Asher does excellent with kids and dogs--he's so glad to be part of a pack! He is a complete couch potato who also enjoys walks around the neighborhood. He's the friendliest, most chill dog who could live happily in a house or apartment, so long as there's plenty of hugs and belly scratches given!  ##2636734##

Meet Kodi — proof that age is just a number. At 12 years old and just 6.5 pounds, Kodi is the kind of loyal, low-maintenance companion dreams are made of. He’s house-trained (even in the rain!), sleeps quietly through the night in his crate, and quickly mastered the doggie door like the smart little guy he is. Kodi loves nothing more than being near you—happily curled up at your side or trotting along on a walk, just glad to be included. He is gentle, calm, and full of life, with so much love left to give. He eats only canned food due to his lack of teeth and his age. Kodi didn’t deserve to be surrendered to a shelter by his owner but now he’s ready to be someone’s whole world. Maybe yours? We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Meet Mickey Joe Hi, I’m Mickey Joe—a sweet senior gentleman from the Rowlett Animal Shelter, currently living in a loving foster home while I wait for my forever family. I’m a quiet, easygoing boy who rarely barks and gets along wonderfully with both people and other dogs. At my age, I’ve perfected the art of relaxing: I love my nap times, enjoy peaceful car rides, and sleep cozily on my blanket right next to my foster mom each night. I don’t have many teeth anymore, so I prefer chopped or pâté-style food and soft chicken treats—easy and delicious! I’m great for baths and grooming and handle daily care like a champ. I’m not much into toys, but snuggling? That’s my favorite activity. I’m incredibly sweet, calm, and affectionate. I do have some vision loss from age-related cataracts, but I get around just fine and don’t let it slow me down. I’m not neutered and still learning perfect house manners, so I wear a belly wrap indoors. I do go outside to potty with my doggy roommates and am doing my best. The vet estimates I’m a senior between 10–14 years old, and I’m a petite guy at under 12 pounds. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who just wants to be by your side, I might be your perfect match. If you want a loyal little buddy and best friend, I’m your man.
