Story
Nixi and Odin went into the shelter together and apparently the owner never came for them. Nixi is super sweet and loving. She has the most beautiful Hazel eyes. She is great around other dogs. She weighs 45 lbs and is about 3 years old. Even though she was in the shelter a long time she stayed happy and upbeat.  She is  She gets along with cats and is great with kids. I was working with her on kennel training and some commands (sit and come). She is 100% a couch potato! She loves to snuggle and be brushed.    ##2782328##

Story
Abel Ideal Home -Abel will thrive in a home committed to continued training and socialization. Hes eager to leave that stray life behind and is a willing student when treats are involved. -He is very people-oriented and forms strong bonds with his humans. He is still working through some separation anxiety, so his ideal family should be prepared to help him gradually become more comfortable spending time on his own rather than expecting immediate independence. -Abel enjoys the company of another chill dog who can boost his confidence and model routines. Personality -Abel is a total Velcro-doodle, happiest when closely supervising his family. -He has high energy when outdoors and during playtime. He feeds off the energy of his playmates so calmer dogs are a better fit. -He settles down nicely when it is time to come indoors. -Did you say car-ride? Abel is ready to roll! -Hes alert to noises or unfamiliar people and will bark when something suspicious occurs. Is Yours the Home for Abel? Abels adoption fee is $750. He is heartworm negative, current on vaccinations and HW/flea preventatives, neutered, and microchipped. All adoption fees go toward expenses like medical costs and food for Doodle Dandy dogs and help make it possible for us to continue giving amazing pups like Abel a second chance. If you would like to fill out an application and you are within a 5-hour drive of one of our metro areas (DFW, Houston, Austin, or San Antonio), please click on one of the Adoption Application buttons on this page https://www.doodledandyrescue.org/all-adoptable-doodles/abel and choose Abel from the drop-down menu.

Story
Adrian is 14 years old, weighs 40 lbs and is looking for a special home that understands the needs of a senior dog. Adrian is a sweet, affectionate little shadow who wants to be wherever his person is. He’s a true velcro dog, if you move, he’s right behind you. His favorite place is curled up next to you on the couch, and if he can’t be there, he will happily settle at your feet. He also loves donut-style beds and cozy enclosed spaces, and often chooses to nap in the hallway. Despite his age, Adrian still enjoys a short game of fetch if the ball is tossed right in front of him. He walks beautifully on a leash and stays right by your side. As a senior, Adrian does have some special needs. He has limited vision, especially at night, and can become disoriented. The veterinarian believes some of his pacing and nighttime howling may be related to pain, cognitive decline, or a combination of both. Because he doesn’t always know where he is and can’t see well, he may bump into furniture, walls, or other dogs. His current medications include: • Gabapentin 200 mg every 12 hours for pain (can be given up to 3 times daily if needed) • Denamarin once daily for liver support • Trazodone 100 mg at bedtime, given with Gabapentin if he is pacing or howling at night Adrian prefers soft foods, though he will occasionally crunch on treats. He isn’t very interested in toys or bones. Grooming is important for Adrian’s comfort. His coat must be kept short, especially during warm weather, as he overheats easily. Hair around his eyes should be trimmed so he can see, and his paws should be kept neat to help him maintain traction while wearing his Tiger Toes. He tolerates his ear cleaning, and regular grooming helps keep him comfortable. Adrian is looking for a calm, loving home where he can spend his golden years being someone’s constant companion. He may require a little extra care, but he gives plenty of love in return. Adrian needs someone that works from home or is home the majority of the day. He does fantastic with other dogs, but if there is another dog in the home they need to be gentle and low energy. If you are interested in adopting Adrian, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2735940##
