Story
Meet our sweet and tender Rocket. He's an 8 year old, 47 lb white parti poodle with red markings. We've had him in our care for two years. Prior to that, he was allegedly kept in a barn and left to roam the owners' pasture in his last month. Neglect was evident by the fleas, multiple infections, and several inches of matted hair he sustained during his time there. He is now in great health, up to date on his vaccinations, and has been neutered.

Rocket is overall pretty low energy--he enjoys a shady patch of grass and cuddling with his stuffed pink platypus in his crate. He adores walks and does well on a leash with very little to no pulling. He lives with a female standard poodle, an older male chiweenie, and occasionally hangs out with an outdoor cat. Rocket tends to be more submissive; our chiweenie's attitude usually puts him on edge and exacerbates nervous habits. We think he'd do best in a home with only female dogs or non territorial/resource guards.

Although shy and anxious, Rocket is incredibly gentle when he interacts with humans and has no bite history. He is not cuddly but will approach softly for love and scritches as trust builds. He has never jumped up on people or furniture. He is a nervous marker, but this has improved over time, especially after separating him from our chiweenie; we typically still keep him belly-banded when we anticipate company or changes in environment. He is very treat motivated--apart from plopping down to sit if he sees a bag of treats, he'll typically walk right up to be diapered when he hears the velcro. We think he could learn additional commands with more consistency. Someone with a routine work schedule, work from home, or retired would be ideal.

It's been incredibly rewarding working with Rocket and witnessing his precious, gentle personality grow in confidence. We are moving to be closer to family and will be staying with them during this process. Unfortunately we will not be able to bring our sweet boy with us and are hoping to find him a new home to fall in love with him.

Story
Once upon a time, in the far away land of Texas, there lived an adorable pup named Tanner, whose lonely life was suddenly changed with a last-minute rescue by the loving Doodle Dandy fairies. The fairies are determined to find Tanner his own happily-ever-after. Tanner is a very special pup and is looking for someone who understands that his heart and his ability to love far exceed his size, which is saying something. While he has a big bark, Tanner is very smart, learns quickly, and most importantly, wants to please. He is a social butterfly that loves to greet all kinds of people, though he doesn't love other dogs. He’s not dog aggressive, he just has a strong preference for people. Speaking of that big bark and big brain, Tanner will try to use both to fool you into thinking he’s not crate trained when in fact he is. If you can just ignore his fake protest barks when you first put him in a crate, after a few minutes he settles down and is perfectly content. The ideal home for Tanner would be one with an experienced dog owner committed to continued training and willing to maintain boundaries. He wants to be the only dog in a home where he can get all of the cuddles, snacks and brushing - Tanner loves being brushed! Tanner wants to be a big part of his owner’s life and enjoys neighborhood walks, hikes and car rides, but he does not enjoy being left alone. He’s fine in his crate for 4-6 hours, but after that he gets lonely. He will also sleep quietly overnight in his crate, but if you leave him out he will sneak into bed with you in the middle of the night—which is pretty subtle for a pup of his size. Tanner would like a yard for his games of fetch and for zoomies. However, he’s not a speed demon; his zoomies are the slower, lumbering kind. He would also be in heaven if he could play in a personal digging pit. The Doodle Dandy fairies are searching for that special family Tanner can join as a loving companion for life. Tanner’s adoption fee is $600. He’s HW negative, current on all HW/Flea preventatives, neutered, and microchipped. All adoption fees go toward expenses so the magical Doodle Dandy fairies can cover medical and food costs for other deserving Doodle Dandy Dogs, making it possible to continue the magic by giving amazing pups like Tanner a second chance. Story
This stunning, brave boy is Bowen. He has come so far in his short time with DDR. You would never know it now, but he started as a matted, underweight stray. Scared of so many things, he’s overcome several obstacles thanks to the patience and dedication of his foster families. He has turned into such a handsome boy in the process! Bowen’s immense desire to please and make his humans happy has enabled him learn how to walk on a leash, stay in his crate, master stairs and best of all, ride in the car to get his favorite puppuccino! He will need continued training and lots of positive reinforcement in other areas to ensure he becomes a true gentleman. Being with his people is a high priority, as he does experience some separation anxiety when left alone. Providing chew toys/bones has helped greatly in calming him down while alone. When with his peeps, his tail wags are massive, and he loves to snuggle. He’s learned to enjoy long walks and fun outings to the dog park. This silly boy may even spin in circles to show you how happy he is to be with you! Bowen needs an active family with lots of physical and mental stimulation to help him become his best self. A big backyard is a must for his puppy zoomies. He would also benefit from another dog buddy with similar energy to learn from and play with. After such a rough start, he’ll need a special furever home committed to building trust so he feels safe and loved. Consistency will be essential for his development, and in return, you’ll receive love, devotion and endless tail wags! Bowen’s adoption fee is $700. He’s HW negative, neutered and current on all HW/Flea preventatives. All adoption fees go toward expenses like medical and food for Doodle Dandy Dogs and help make it possible for us to continue giving dogs like Bowen a second chance. If you would like to fill out an application and you are within a 5-hour radius of the Austin area, please click here: https://www.doodledandyrescue.org/copy-of-adoptable-doodle-bailey-1 and fill out an application form. This is the sweetest boy, and he deserves his happily-ever-after!

Story
Meet Hocus and Pocus. These two poodles were found in a parking lot with a bag of food. Three others were found elsewhere in the town and taken to the local Humane Society. hocus is a male, 32 pounds, and approximately six months. He has a bigger snout. Then there is pocus. She is 26 pounds and approximately nine months old. We believe that a breeder dropped all of these dogs off around town. It was several days before we were told that these two were living in a parking lot and a wonderful couple went and got them. Since then, they have had lots of medical attention and care. They were both fixed, so no babies . They each had blood work done, as well as fecals , heartworm test for pocus, their eyes were checked for infection, as were they are ears. They are both on medication for yeast in their ears. They are very healthy, except for little things like that. Also, they receive their first round of vaccines, including their rabies. They will still need to get two more rounds of vaccines which is included in the adoption fee. At first we thought they were brother and sister, until we realized one was older than the other based on the growth of the teeth. They’re fun loving and just fun to be around. Now let’s talk about their breed. It is very obvious that they are poodles. We are unsure what they are mixed with. But I stated earlier, we are almost certain they came from a breeder. As for being hypoallergenic, I cannot guarantee that they do look more poodle than anything though. Due to their extensive medical treatments, their adoption fee is $500 each. They are microchipped and have started on heartworm prevention. Put in your application today at https://chloespetrescue.org/application

He has been my companion since he was a baby. I feel terrible to get rid of him but I am moving to another country and can’t take him with me. I hope to find him a good family that loves him and cares for him as much as we do. He loves to play with empty water bottles. He will love you and be your companion.
