Story
Waverly aka Daisy is 13 months and 55 lbs as of March '25.  She is very social and friendly and would do well with an active owner. Waverly regularly goes to doggy daycare where she has a blast with every dog and person she meets. She is house and crate trained, spayed, fully vaccinated, and heartworm negative. Her adoption fee is $325  Waverly was adopted and is being returned due to not doing well with the household cats. While she gets along well with just about everyone, she has a prey drive that makes her unsuitable for homes with small animals such as cats and bunnies. Waverly had a DNA test:  50% Poodle, 25% American Pit Bull Terrier, 15% Husky, 9% Great Pyrenees. Please apply online if you're interested in meeting her: http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/    We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
We rescued Teddy NKA Braeley and a few others from the shelter. We don't know all the details but we know it was a "protective custody"and I believe they forced the owner to surrender most of their dogs. Some were in worse shape than others.  Meet Brayleigh– A Gentle Soul Learning to Trust Female recently shaved from being so matted. Approx. 2 years. White/curly coat Doodle: Brayleigh is a beautiful 2-year-old Doodle. This sweet girl has already overcome so much in her short life. Rescued from a severe hoarding situation, Brayleigh had very little to no human interaction and came to us fearful and unsure of the world around her. Brayleigh is making good progress. She’s currently in a foster home where she’s being gently socialized through a method called desensitization and tethering conditioning—which is just a fancy way of saying we’re helping her associate people, sounds, and experiences with comfort and safety. And it’s working! She’s beginning to show her true personality: quiet, curious, and incredibly gentle. Brayleigh will thrive in a calm, patient home—preferably with another confident dog to show her the ropes. She needs a family who understands that trust takes time and is willing to move at her pace. In return, you’ll get to witness something truly special: a once-shy dog blossoming into a loyal, loving companion. If you believe in second chances and have a heart big enough to help Brayleigh, write her next chapter, she just might be the one for you. ##2357309##

Nova and her sister Nellie were relinquished by their owner because he had too many dogs. They appear to be poodle mixes.  Nova is crate trained and housebroken. She doesn't have much experience with human interaction so that's the primary focus with her foster family right now. She is good with other dogs and is learning that people are safe.  ##2231390##

Story
Meet River Summit, the rockstar doodle who’s ready to splash into your life with boundless energy and charm! This handsome, whip-smart pup is a trick-performing pro, always eager to show off his skills and soak up the spotlight. River’s a social butterfly, getting along with dogs big and small. If you’re more of a “cat” person, you will enjoy his independent streak. River Summit adores playing with toys and exploring his environment. He will thrive best when his mind and body are both engaged and purposefully active. With a medium-to-high energy level, he’s perfect for active folks who love walks, runs, or backyard playtime, but he’s also a champ at chilling in his crate for downtime. Food-motivated and quick to learn, River Summit makes good choices when given clear boundaries, though he’ll need an experienced owner committed to his training plan to help him shine. River’s ideal forever home is with a fun, dedicated family or person who’ll stick to his trainer’s routines, set firm limits, and give him a buddy (furry or human) to bond with. River’s adopters will participate in a slow adoption process with trainer support to ensure a successful transition. For that reason, potential adopters must live in the Austin metro area. River’s ready to dive into a life of adventure and cuddles—are you ready to make a splash with him? River’s adoption fee is $600. He is HW negative, current on all vaccinations and HW/flea preventatives, neutered, and microchipped. All adoption fees go toward expenses like medical costs and food for Doodle Dandy dogs and help make it possible for us to continue giving amazing pups like River Summit a second chance. If you would like to fill out an application and you are within the Austin metro area, please click here: https://www.doodledandyrescue.org/all-adoptable-doodles/summit, then on one of the Adoption Application buttons on this page and select RIVER SUMMIT from the drop-down menu on the application form.
