Story
Animal Information: Handsome Jack (nka Jackson) is an estimated 12-18-month old 35 lb now neutered male Whippet mix with epic ears and a fantastic temperament. He was found as a stray (with Handsome Jack) on a large ranch property and processed thru COH Animal Control. He was given just 72 hrs because the shelter was beyond capacity so PAWHI stepped in and found him (and Charlie) foster placement. In foster care Charlie has learned house-training, crate-training, and leash-training, is comfortable with handling, takes treats gently and shows no behavior issues like resource guarding. He is social and friendly with dogs and people including young children, though he is initially timid with men. He has not been evaluated with cats. This soft and sweet boy is joining Dog Gone Seattle and we look forward to getting to know him in foster care. Foster Profile: Jackson needed a few days to adjust to life on the mainland but he settled into his foster home in stride, seamlessly blending into the pack including several other dogs and kids. He's even respectful of the cat! He's picked up house training and crate training like an old pro and is gaining confidence every day. Jackson is very dog oriented and loves to romp with his dog friends. He will need at least one canine companion in his adoptive home, and he might do better in a pack. He is a soft and sweet natured boy who will bond with people once rapport and trust is established. We anticipate he'll love to chase things once he gets comfortable! He hasn't shown any unwanted behaviors, just an all around good Hawaii dog who crossed the pond to find a forever.  Adopter Profile: Fenced yard required Companion animal required Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from PAWHI in Hawaii, where he was a stray intake to COH Animal Control. He arrived to foster care 6/10/2026 and is available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.July 18, 2026, 4:15 pm

Story
Animal Information: Trixie is a 9.5 year old sighthound/terrier mix with a gentle, sensitive nature. Her world recently changed when her owner of nearly 8 years could no longer care for her due to a medical crisis, but through it all she has remained a sweet and loving dog.  On walks she is calm and non reactive, and she really enjoys being outside. Although she had been spending much of her time in a crate, she has done so well in her foster home and has settled right back into a normal routine. Trixie is friendly with everyone she meets. She can be a little unsure in new places at first, but she warms up quickly and will start leaning in for affection before long. She is house trained, crate trained, and rides nicely in the car. Trixie would fit into many different homes and is ready to find a place where she can feel safe and loved again. Foster Profile: Trixie is a sweet girl, looking for someone who would love to give an older girl a great several years of life! She still likes to play and enjoys walks and loves her people. Trixie would prefer to be an only dog in the home, but has been fine with other dogs in public. Trixie is currently being fostered with other dogs in the home and is doing fine, but she is not a fan of small dogs in her space. Trixie does great in a car and in a crate and is house trained. She's a goofy gal with Loys of life left in her! She's great on a leash and will steal your heart. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to our rescue when [circumstances of transfer], arriving to foster care on 3/17/26. She will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.July 18, 2026, 4:15 pm

I started life in South Korea on a dog meat farm, and though I still carry a few little scars from that time, my heart has healed so much. With the help of some kind trainers, I’ve learned what love feels like—and now I’m ready to share it with my very own person. At first, I can be a little shy and cautious (old habits!), but once I trust you, my sweetness shines all the way through. I become playful, happy, and full of zoomies—I’ll even make you laugh with my goofy side. I love to run, I love to learn, and nothing makes me happier than knowing I’ve made you smile.I think I’d be happiest as your one-and-only furry friend, since other dogs aren’t quite my cup of tea. But honestly? With a heart as big as mine, I’ll fill your world with more than enough love. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful for me, along with a patient person who’ll keep helping me grow braver and more confident every day.I may have had a tough beginning, but I haven’t let it dim my spirit. Now I just need someone to see the sweet, devoted, silly girl I am and say, “That’s my dog.” My name’s Darcy—and I can’t wait to make you smile too. Darcy was a past Dog of the Month!!  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/darcy-december-dog-of-the-month-3/Sponsored by Angela Kasse Sponsored by Jieun Cho Darcy would love another sponsor while she waits for her forever home.  If this sounds like something you'd like to do, see this link for more info.  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/support/sponsor-a-dog/ Greyhound Pets, Inc. - www.greyhoundpetsinc.org - 877-468-7681 WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT A GREYHOUND? Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED (currently in foster care) Meet Jasmine! Jasmine is a 1.5-year-old, 21 lb Chihuahua/Whippet mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. This fun-sized girl is packed with personality and affection! Jasmine is sweet, social, playful, and loves being with her people. In foster care, she has continued to show what a friendly, outgoing dog she is. She recently attended a gathering with ten people and loved every minute of it, happily soaking up all the attention and making new friends. If youre looking for a dog that genuinely enjoys being around people, Jasmine is your girl. Shes also smart, eager to learn, and eager to please. Jasmine has been making great progress with training, including improving her recall and basic commands. She is mostly house-trained and has been doing well overall in foster care. Jasmine loves other dogs and has shown that having a canine companion greatly benefits her. She would do best in a home with another younger, playful, well-adjusted dog who can keep up with her energy level and provide companionship. Having another dog around helps her feel more confident and comfortable. One area Jasmine is still working on is separation anxiety. She forms strong bonds with her people and doesn't enjoy being left alone. Because of this, she is looking for a home where her people are home often, can take her along on adventures, or have a schedule that minimizes long periods of alone time. A canine companion has proven to be especially helpful in helping her feel secure. Due to her vocal nature when left alone, Jasmine is not a good fit for apartments, condos, or shared-wall living situations. She is looking for a standalone home where she can continue working on her confidence and separation anxiety without worrying about close neighbors. Jasmine is an active, happy young dog who would love an outgoing lifestyle filled with walks, adventures, playtime, training, and plenty of opportunities to be included in her family's daily life. She has so much love to give and will thrive with adopters who are committed to helping her continue growing into her best self. If you're looking for a fun, affectionate, social companion who wants to be part of all of life's adventures, Jasmine may be the perfect addition to your family! Jasmine is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.
