He can be timid and fearful at first, but once he is comfortable he is sweet, affectionate and playful.  He loves being with other dogs and people, once he is comfortable.  Nyx can be easily startled, so we do not recommend him in a home with children.  He was found chained to a wooden kennel with dirt floors and it seems that is where he had spent his life, poor guy.  He will need a calm, quieter home and environment.  Nyx is not suitable for an apartment/condo/townhome and will need one without cats.Nyx would love to have a sponsor.  If this interests you, please see: https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/support/sponsor-a-dog/ Greyhound Pets, Inc. - www.greyhoundpetsinc.org - 877-468-7681 WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT A GREYHOUND? WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Pearl - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! The Pearl is an amazing gemstone. As the tides are pulled by the moon, this infuses these sweet little gemstones with all the power and grace of divine feminine energy, connected to nature and wisdom and new beginnings. They are known to have many physical, mental and emotional healing properties. Sounds amazing, right? I want to be your amazing Pearl! At 4 months I am at that perfect age to soak up...everything! Your little sponge! I would make a great candidate for obedience training, game playing and could even do well in some agility classes. I'm up for giving it a whirl with whatever we do and as long as we do it together, I know I'll have a blast. When I get fully growed up I'll be that perfect medium size (of around 40-45lbs) for going on ALL your adventures. We can take strolls around the neighborhood, go hiking, camping, trips to the doggie park, play hide and seek (I won't even mind always being the seeker!). And I'm game for trying out anything else you can think up. I'm working on my house training skills but I'm a smart little gem (cuz my foster mom says so!) and will have it mastered in no time and I am crate trained. I do great with people and with the other foster pups. I'm very sweet natured and love playing with my foster siblings but I am also affectionate and love getting snuggle time with my people. That sounds to me like a great combo, playful and snugly! My beautiful sleek shiny coat is short haired making me low maintenance in the grooming department which just means lots more time in the 'spoil me rotten' department!! Yes siree, that's what I'm talking about! All this awesomeness available in just one package!! Just fill out my adoption application and you could be having ALL that fun ALL the time with...ME!!

Story
Hi! My name is Funnel Cake. I’m way sweeter than a funnel cloud. In fact, I was rescued from the Pasadena animal shelter after it was hit by a tornado. That was REALLY scary and at first I was afraid of everything. Turned out that I had heartworms too. But, luckily SAVE Rescue Coalition found me and my foster mom has been teaching me all sorts of things! I’ve learned that people are actually pretty nice and snacks are awesome! I love treats so much that I’ve learned some other things too. I know sit, down, touch, crate, stay, and leave it. I’m potty trained and crate trained too! I even know what furniture I’m allowed on and what I’m not. I like other dogs, but my favorites are smaller dogs (I don’t mind if they’re bossy) and laid back bigger dogs. Now that I’m all healthy and I’ve learned that the world isn’t actually that scary, I’m looking for my forever home. I would love a home with another dog or a human that wants to play with me. I also really love training games and learning new things. My foster mom says I’m smart as a whip and that I’m definitely full of personality! I’m not a yappy pup, but I’ll talk (wooo) to you when I have an opinion to share. I’m probably a shepherd mix between 1-2 years old and weigh about 60 pounds. If you think I might be the pup for you, fill out an application at http://saverescue.org My foster mom will give you a call and tell you ALL about me. You can even find more pictures of me on Instagram! #funnelcakebeatsfunnelcloud

Story
Meet Cassidy, the Charming Introvert! Get ready to fall in love with Cassidy, a pale white pup with captivating puppy eyes and a heart-shaped nose. Despite a challenging past where he navigated the streets and scrounged for survival, Cassidy's resilience shines through. Now, he's on a mission to find a loving home where he can feel safe and cherished. Cassidy is a dog with a gentle and timid personality. Loud noises and intense reactions make him nervous, and he prefers a calm and serene environment. He needs time to warm up to people and build trust before he feels comfortable and secure. This smart little guy knows some tricks already and is a well-mannered companion during feeding time. He's polite and respectful, showing his intelligence and willingness to please. Sitting on command is just one of the many tricks he has mastered. When it comes to relaxation, Cassidy's favorite spot is snuggled up on the couch or bed. He loves cozy naps and enjoys sleeping in when it's chilly or rainy outside. His head and ears are the sweet spots for scratches and cuddles, and he might even roll over for a belly rub! Cassidy is searching for someone who will shower him with love and understanding. While he respects cats and tolerates other dogs, he prefers his own space and will often retreat to a separate room. However, when the other dogs are not around, he comes out for attention and cuddles. He enjoys the quiet company of a select few men, seeming to have a preference for quieter individuals. It's important to note that Cassidy is not a fan of chaos, whether it's caused by humans or other dogs. He seeks a serene and calm environment where he can feel at ease. Car rides are a pleasure for him, as long as he is the sole rider and not in a crowded car with other dogs. To provide Cassidy with his ideal home, a single, quiet man with no other dogs or possibly a submissive dog that Cassidy meets and approves of would be the perfect match. An at-home social life that aligns with his introverted nature is preferable. While Cassidy tends to avoid general interaction and may not seek pets, hugs, or kisses, he has his moments of affection when he feels comfortable. Cassidy may be an introverted hermit, but beneath his reserved exterior lies a dog yearning for love and understanding. If you're someone who appreciates the quiet moments and can provide a calm and peaceful environment, Cassidy will reward you! (Only) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Introducing the one and only Pedro, a name as vibrant as the Lone Star State itself! You see, Pedro is more than just a Spanish translation of Peter; it carries a certain charm that resonates with my lively spirit. Picture this: "Andele andele, Pedro!" Vamanos! Doesn't it have a ring of adventure and machismo? Now, let me share a bit about my journey. I've had a bumpy start, finding myself in a crowded hoarding situation surrounded by relatives galore. Parents, siblings, half-siblings, aunts, uncles, and even grandparents-it was quite the family reunion, but not the ideal environment, unless you're from Kentucky! As a result, I may still carry a hint of trepidation from my early days without much socialization. But fear not, for both I and my dedicated rescuers have been diligently working to help me blossom into a more confident and comfortable pooch, ready to embrace new experiences and encounters. The ideal home for me would be one that includes a confident and friendly canine companion, older children, or even a tranquil environment without kids. Love is the key ingredient, and if your home resonates with warmth and affection, then count me in! I also need a patient person or family, the confidence builder! So, what do you say? Take me under your wing, fill out that adoption application, and let's embark on an extraordinary journey together. We'll bid farewell to this mundane existence and embrace a world filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities. Together, we'll create our own adventure, leaving behind the ordinary and savoring the extraordinary. Pedro is ready, are you? Let's blow this popsicle stand and start a beautiful chapter of companionship and joy. Seize this chance to make a difference in both our lives, and let our paths intertwine in a symphony of love and happiness. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Lieutenant Natasha Yar, chief security officer aboard the USS-Enterprise, reporting for duty! Of course, you can just call me Tasha. Much like my namesake character from Star Trek: The Next Generation, I am small but mighty and a true protector! I am also (partially) blonde and my funny tiny ears match Tasha Yar's short hair. Also like Tasha, I have had a rrruff life before now and am happy to start anew. I have a little bit of a funny appearance. I have my tiny ears, looong legs, and my eyes sometimes go out to the sides. It's really hard to know what breeds I may be mixed with. All I know is that I'm super sweet and loving but have no problem being feisty too. I'm still a pup after all! I love to wrestle with the other dogs in the house and we get along great, though I do have to eat separately. I get barky when I have food because I feel the need to protect it! I am doing amazing with things like house training, leash training, and being comfortable with car rides. Behind my tough exterior, I'm actually a very sweet and snuggly girl! I'll rub all over you like a cat and always be by your side waiting for love. I am even great with smaller humanoids. I'm ready for a family of my own to explore the galaxies with. Apply today!
