Story
Meet Lilianna! She is a 4-year-old, 22 lb, Yorkie Terrier mix who was found as a stray in CA and is currently in a foster home. She is shy and skittish, and it will take some time to win her heart. She can be nervous and does not enjoy long car rides or new places. She is potty trained/house trained. She is a happy dog with lots of energy. She is very smart and playful with other dogs. She would love to have another dog in the home. She could possibly be an only dog but she would need a home where someone is home most of the time. She is extremely smart but has a sense of independence. She's stubborn and will listen when she's ready. She is a high flight risk since she won't come on command. She is quick and will dart out an open door and can be an escape artist. Due to her tendency to run, we are looking for a home for her within a 10-mile radius of the Edmonds area. We are looking for an adult only home for her with no children or grandchildren. She is spayed and microchipped. She's up to date on vaccination, and her fee is $550.

Story
Introducing Hanz! He is a four-year-old, 17lb Yorkshire Terrier mix who came to us from a high kill shelter in CA and is currently living in a foster home. Hanz is a loving, sweet, and playful dog. He craves companionship and loves to cuddle on your lap and sleep in your bed. He walks well on a leash but will pull when he sees squirrels. He loves lots of walks and adventures and would benefit from someone with a yard to explore. He loves to play fetch. He would do best in an adult-only home or a home with older kids (teens+). He is not potty trained and will need some work in that area. He is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His fee is $500.

Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter is willing to pay them we will accept PayPal. **** WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING FOR THE ADORABLE JAMES BOND AS HOS FOSTER FAMILY HAS FALLEN IN LOVE WITH HIM & WILL BE ADOPTING HIM. **** The evil for these amazing souls is never ending. The absolutely stunning, mind body & soul of James Bond was being used as a breeding machine in a puppy mill in Missouri to make money off his back. We were able to bid on him & in fact bought him to stop having a life of misery over & over again for evil human beings to make money off him. Living his life outside in the stinking heat day after day then in the freezing cold in winter time in a metal tin can of a shed was over. His life was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. On this day we rescued a total of 21 breeding mum & dads & puppies who all they knew was to breed in a life of hell & then being sold. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show James Bond how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home. James Bond was bought back to the WA state where he is now is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. Look at this boy, it’s so bloody sad what he had to go through. This little man is loving & sweet & just wants to be with you. He gets so excited when he sees one of our ladies as he loves her. The horror he endured on his little body & mind all to make money off his back is so disgusting. After everything he has been through he is still a lovely soul. He is beyond grateful to get out of that hell hole he was in & radiates gratitude. James Bond lets you pick him up & lets you give him kisses & hugs. He adores receiving love. The reality is, the foster homes are his real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside. Watching him go into his very first real home, foster home was such a joy to see. Make room in your bed for James Bond as he will want to sleep with you. He adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something he did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. This boy is the biggest joy of a soul you will ever meet. He is so grateful for his new life. James Bond was never taught to walk on a harness a leash until we taught him to walk on a slip lead & now he is a wonderful walker & loves to go on his walks. He does not discriminate against breeds. He adores running & playing & chasing his dog friends in the backyard & inside. He has always been with other dogs & he adores other dogs so in his forever home another dog or dogs is mandatory in his forever home for him to have his best life. James Bond rides beautifully in the car & considering the only times we know of was when he went to auction to be sold & when we got him & going with us to places & home with him foster family & back & forth to the vets & he has done so amazing in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lad only. He spent his whole life confined for breeding. James Bond as you can imagine spent such a long time in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for James Bond where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. James Bond is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on him. James Bond has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & in his foster home & he is currently with other dogs & adores other dogs. We also tested him in a daycare & he was the perfect gentleman. James Bond needs to go to a forever home with another dog or dogs in the home, he enjoys the company of other dogs & we currently have him with other dogs in his loving foster home. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. James Bond is roughly 10.8 lbs & he is 2 years old. He has put on weight since being in the rescue. He is a Yorkshire terrier, what he is mixed with we don’t know? He had a dental, dental x-rays & a scale & polish. He was also treated for an ear infection & had a long lasting ear meds Claro applied in his ears for treatment. James Bond is up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on James Bond with paying for him from a puppy mill auction in Missouri. Bringing him to WA with his travel costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in WA etc & bringing him to WA then his adoption fee comes close to covering. His adoption fee does not even cover half of what we have spent on James Bond. James Bond has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when James Bond was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & James Bond’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is James Bond potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting James Bond & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for James Bond who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lad. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. James Bond has an adoption fee of $1585 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

Story
Have you ever seen a "Dorkie"? Meet Finn , an absolutely darling Yorkie x Dachshund mix. This little man is portable, playful, current on all vax and already neutered, he is ready for anything, mostly for a new family to call his own. Finn came to us as an owner surrender due to life changes in his home, however, his family did a great job getting him to this point in his life, he is socialized and will fit in a home with or without a furry playmate, and with his size, he is a good choice for a smaller home. Finn loves to snuggle and give kisses and is a king of fetch! He is being fostered with a doodle dog and kiddos and enjoying playtime in their yard. Is Finn your new best buddy?

Story
PENDING ADOPTION Mr. Pickles is an amazing Yorkie with lots of love and energy! He loves to play and give kisses, and likes to be near his people all of the time. He's great around other dogs and kids, and would do well to have another dog as a playmate. * Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Click the button to download the adoption application. The application is a form-fillable pdf. Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org Hi!!  My name is Violet from Korea and I am a wonderful approx. 5 yr old female Yorkshire Terrier.  I am about 9 lbs. and hoping to find a forever home.  I am friendly and was saved from an illegal Breeding Farm in South Korea.  I was rescued with many others by local activists from the horrific conditions we were in.  I fought to survive everyday and was so badly neglected.  Korea kills an estimated 1.5 -2 million dogs a year to be eaten.  I just want a chance to be part of a family and for someone to love and care for me.  I am so lucky to get a one-way ticket to Seattle to find my new family.  Take me on car rides, walks in the park and I will become your best friend.  I get along well with people of all ages, gentle kids, and other dogs.  I will do best with a loving family that can give me lots of love and affection!  On all overseas adoption, we highly recommend our pet rescue dog trainer who will come to your home and help train your new pup for only $75.  My adoption fee of $1,595 will cover my spay/neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordetella, Deworm, Heart Worm Test, Microchip, Boarding Fees, Health Certificate and airline transport cost from Korea to Seattle.  A GPS tracker or Apple AirTag is required for all adopted dogs. You can bring your own when adopting or you can purchase an AirTag from us.  The adoption fee is firm and helps save the life of another dog needing rescue and our other dogs in need of medical care.  We do not guarantee the breed and age of the dogs.  Donations are always appreciated to help pay down our vet bills at Greenwood Vet.  Ginger's Pet Rescue is a non-profit 501C-3 organization.  Please e-mail at  admin@gingerspetrescue.org  for an adoption application.
