Story
Meet Autumn! Gigis story is one of quiet resilience and unwavering spirit. This beautiful gray-coated girl was found thin, tired, and doing her best to survive. She was also a new mother, struggling to care for her two tiny puppies while her own body was depleted. Despite her best efforts, one of the puppies did not make it, but Gigi poured every ounce of love into her surviving pup, who is now thriving thanks to her dedication and care. In rescue, Gigi has begun to heal. With steady meals, gentle hands, and a safe place to rest, her tail wags a little more each day. She adores being near her people, whether curled up for snuggles, padding along for a leisurely walk, or simply laying close by, happy to be part of the moment. Gigi is resilient and hopeful, gentle and affectionate, and deeply devoted once she feels safe. She has already proven her strength and her nurturing heart, and now it is her turn to be cared for. Gigi has given her whole heart to surviving and mothering, and now she is ready to thrive. She is looking for a forever family who will give her the love, security, and kindness she has always deserved. Are you ready to fall for Gigi? Apply today and give her the home she has been waiting for. Story
Meet Penelope – From the Euthanasia List to a Second Chance!  Penelope’s story is one of resilience and hope. Found as a stray in Texas and placed on the euthanasia list, her future looked bleak—until a compassionate foster stepped in and reached out to Pep’s Pals Rescue. Now safe and sound in Colorado, Penelope is ready to find her forever home! This young, affectionate girl has so much love to give. Penelope is curious, gentle, and playful—she adores lounging on the couch just as much as she loves chasing after her favorite toys. Loyal and sweet-natured, she’s also fantastic with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion. Though she may be a little shy at first, Penelope warms up quickly—and once she does, she’s all about belly rubs and bonding time. She’s a smart cookie who’s eager to learn and would love an owner who can help her grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be. Penelope is more than just a survivor—she’s a true gem looking for a family to cherish her. Could you be her happy ending? Story
Hi there! My name is Romeo, and just like my name suggests, I’m a total sweetheart. I’m incredibly affectionate and loyal, and I love nothing more than being close to my humans. I have a great balance of energy—I enjoy being active and playful, but I’m also a big fan of lounging around and taking naps.  I’m already potty trained, crate trained, and I’m doing awesome at learning new commands. I’m looking for a family that’s calm, confident, and willing to keep helping me grow with my training that he graduated from in a board and train.  While I’m pretty easygoing, I’d love a home with older kids and a fenced-in yard where I can stretch my legs and play! I’m smart, friendly, and naturally protective of the people I love. I enjoy meeting new people and always get compliments on how handsome and well-behaved I am during walks. I’m a healthy, happy young dog just looking for the perfect place to call home—where I can be your loyal Romeo and soak up all the love and attention I’ve been dreaming of. DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Tess is 3yo, weighs 62lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, is microchipped, and is house-and-crated trained.  Tess does not like taking pills; therefore, her guardian recommends a topical flea/tick treatment. Tess can sit, but doesn't stay and she responds to her name.  Scratch Incidents:  Tess inadvertently and without malice stepped on her guardian's toe, resulting in a scratch and on another occasion scratched her leg to garner attention.  Guardian states she should've adequately clipped her nails.  The scratches didn't break the skin, animal control was not involved, and medical treatment was unwarranted. Tess's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  Tess's guardian is moving out of state and cannot take her.  Tess's guardian offers a brief medical history:  "She hurt her leg once about a year ago, she was running and stepped wrong.  The vet said it was a bruised ligament and she healed with just rest." Tess's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Tess lives with children, ages 11 and 15, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with children, stating "She does not recognize her size and will run up to anyone to say hello".  Tess's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Tess hasn't lived with other dogs, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating "She barks but does not approach, but has only ever been in the house or in a fenced yard with no other animals".  Tess's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Tess lives with a cat, but her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "I have a cat and the cat avoids the dog.  The dog does not seek out the cat".  Tess's guardian describes her as: Couch potato Barks alot Playful Likes to be touched Affectionate Always at your side Indoor dog House-Trained Crate-Trained Separation anxiety Tess's guardian describes her ideal future home: "A home where she can be with her person as much as possible. She has eaten every bed, blanket, crate pad that she's ever had. And yes I mean EATEN, not chewed! The dog has a stomach of steel. She would prob love a fenced yard, we dont have one so we use our neighbor's yard occasionally.  She is definitely an indoor dog. She does not like the rain, at all!" Zeke's guardian explains why he has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  "Living situation and can't be in a multiple animal household." Lunge/Attack incident:  In June 2022 Zeke lunged/attacked another resident canine; the skin was not broken and medical attention was not required.  Zeke's guardian further explains:  "Both dogs were allowed within same fenced yard.  Victim dog ran toward Zeke and Zeke was uncomfortable and lunged/attacked her.  Took to vet but no actual medical attention needed." Zeke's guardian offers a brief a medical history:  "Small growth (pimple like) on left hind leg."
