We adopted Xena from a shelter almost 6 years ago. She is a great dog and is great with people and children. She is dog reactive but has had dog friends such as my parents daschunds. We just had a baby. She likes long walks and mostly sleeps and wants snack all day lol. She is crate trained and house trained. Between myself being in the military and the baby, we cannot dedicate as much time to Xena as we would like. We would like to find her a better home with a person who would give her all the love she deserves.

Just a little insider information on this beautiful girl: I’ve owned and fostered a lot of dogs over the years, but Penny truly stands out as one of the smartest dogs I’ve ever met. She’s such a quick study and eager to please — she picks up new things in no time! Penny has been an absolute dream to foster. She’s been in my home for a little over a week and already has full reign of the house while I’m away for several hours each day. Not a single accident, not one chewed shoe — she’s completely housebroken and wonderfully well-mannered. She knows all her basic commands and is learning more every day. Penny walks nicely on a leash (though she may remind you she has a strong prey drive if a squirrel dares cross her path!). She’s gentle when taking treats, affectionate with her people, and always eager to be part of whatever you’re doing. Penny does want to be the only dog in her forever home. She’ll happily alert you when someone’s at the door, but once guests are welcomed, she greets them with her trademark sweetness. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $350 plus taxMatzo aka Reggie, was adopted from the Auto show to a home with two female boxers, unfortunately they have decided he is too much.  He is a teenager who never got the proper training and needs a bully savvy owner who will tell him no!  He has gone to play groups at daycare and loves the boxers a little two much and is kind of trying to constantly engage.He went to doggy dycare and was also super excited to have friends to play with. 'OK with dog savvy cats' Matzo is a smart cookie as well; he already knows how to sit, lay down and shake. He is all set to make you deal with being his new best friend. He is learning his crate and that being home alone is ok, it is only for a little bit. He loves everybody and everything! His best friend is a bossy toddler.    Goose is playful, sweet, affectionate but also appreciates personal space. He will alert you someone’s here but then his job is done. He’s now their best friend. Just like any dog he’d love a yard to run in, but also loves to just sunbathe for hours.    House trained, crate trained, only started begging for food after a lot of steroids from heart worm treatment. Can be left in other room or directed to sit. Let’s you know It’s time to go outside by poking you with his nose and kisses.
