Story
Stripe is as sweet as he is handsome, and that signature stripe is just the beginning of what makes him special. This 2-year-old boy has a gentle, loving nature and an easygoing personality that really shines when he’s spending one-on-one time with his people. He adores attention—leaning in for ear scratches, placing his paws in your lap, and soaking up all the hugs and snuggles you’re willing to give. He came to PAW from rural South Carolina, so the sights and sounds of a busy environment are still new to him. On walks, he likes to take things slow—sniffing, observing, and building confidence. He’s shown polite interest in other dogs and, while he can get a little excited at times, he responds well to gentle guidance. Stripe would likely do well in a variety of home environments, especially one that offers a calm, supportive space where he can continue to adjust and feel safe. Stripe has recently been diagnosed as heartworm positive, and he’ll need treatment that includes a few injections followed by periods of strict rest. This means he especially needs a committed foster or adopter who can provide a quiet place for him to recover. PAW will cover treatment and provide full support every step of the way. Despite this temporary setback, Stripe is a young dog with so much love to give and a bright future ahead. All he needs is a safe place to land while he heals—and someone willing to give him the chance he deserves. PAW adopts in the MD, northern VA, DC, and northern PA region ##2683912##

Story
â¤ï¸ Blue Sassy: The Dog Who Still Has So Much Love Left to Give ❤️   Sometimes a rescue story finds you, and before you know it, you’ve become part of a journey that desperately deserves a happy ending.   Blue Sassy is a 9-year-old Blue Heeler who spent her entire life with one man who adored her. He raised her from a puppy, and every night she slept beside him. She wasn’t just his dog—she was his comfort, his companion, and his therapy through life’s challenges.   A few months ago, her owner reached out to Critter Cavalry Rescue with a heartbreaking request. His health was failing, and he was being forced to move somewhere his beloved dogs could not follow. Through tears, he asked us to help.   When Blue Sassy came into rescue, she finally received the veterinary care she hadn’t had in years. During her spay and wellness exam, we discovered she was diabetic. The untreated diabetes had also affected her eyesight, leaving her with limited vision.   But here’s the remarkable thing about Blue Sassy…   She doesn’t feel sorry for herself.   She wakes up every day happy. She greets people with a smile. She loves to explore the yard with her nose leading the way. She loves ear scratches, belly rubs, curling up on the couch, and most of all, sitting in your lap soaking up affection. She still has all the intelligence, confidence, and personality that make Blue Heelers such incredible companions.   Her foster family absolutely adores her.   Blue Sassy would do best in a home with minimal stairs and easy access to the outdoors for potty breaks. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, loves children, and enjoys being around people. While her vision isn’t perfect, she navigates her world surprisingly well and adapts with the resilience dogs are famous for.   Her diabetes is manageable with twice-daily insulin injections, given about 12 hours apart. The insulin itself is affordable, and the injections are quick and easy. Other than her diabetes, her bloodwork and health checks have been excellent.   What Blue Sassy needs now isn’t pity.   She needs someone who sees beyond a diagnosis and recognizes the loving, loyal, funny, affectionate dog standing right in front of them.   At 9 years old, she still has plenty of life to live, plenty of cuddles to give, and plenty of memories left to make. Age is only a number, and Blue Sassy’s heart is as young as ever.   Could you be the person who gives this sweet girl the next chapter she deserves?   If you’d like to learn more about Blue Sassy, please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   She has already been someone’s whole world once. We’d love to find her another family to love just as deeply       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 12, 2026, 5:17 pm

Story
Brisky is the kind of dog who wins hearts fast. This sweet, loving boy immediately earned the love and respect of his foster family, and its easy to see why. He's house-trained, food-motivated, great on walks, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Brisky is looking for a home that can match his mild-to-medium energy level. He loves his toys, enjoys spending time outdoors, and is just as happy curling up on the couch for a movie night. While he's a little timid around children, he isn't unfriendly; he simply prefers slow introductions and would do best in a home without young kids. Not much of a barker, Brisky still takes his job as household protector seriously and will make you feel both loved and safe. He's smart, eager to learn, and with a few treats, hell probably have some entertaining party tricks mastered in no time. If you're looking for a loyal companion who can brighten a room, keep you company on adventures, and snuggle up for a cozy night in, Brisky may just be your perfect match. My Profile Age: 1 1/2 years Weight: 47 pounds Good with kids: Yes, kids over 12 Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Fenced yard: No Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes House trained: Yes.
