Story
Foster or adopter urgently needed for Stripe! Stripe is as sweet as he is handsome, and that signature stripe is just the beginning of what makes him special. This 2-year-old boy has a gentle, loving nature and an easygoing personality that really shines when he’s spending one-on-one time with his people. He adores attention—leaning in for ear scratches, placing his paws in your lap, and soaking up all the hugs and snuggles you’re willing to give. He came to PAW from rural South Carolina, so the sights and sounds of a busy environment are still new to him. On walks, he likes to take things slow—sniffing, observing, and building confidence. He’s shown polite interest in other dogs and, while he can get a little excited at times, he responds well to gentle guidance. Stripe would likely do well in a variety of home environments, especially one that offers a calm, supportive space where he can continue to adjust and feel safe. Stripe has recently been diagnosed as heartworm positive, and he’ll need treatment that includes a few injections followed by periods of strict rest. This means he especially needs a committed foster or adopter who can provide a quiet place for him to recover. PAW will cover treatment and provide full support every step of the way. Despite this temporary setback, Stripe is a young dog with so much love to give and a bright future ahead. All he needs is a safe place to land while he heals—and someone willing to give him the chance he deserves. PAW adopts in the MD, northern VA, DC, and northern PA region ##2683912##

This gal will thrive with adopters who might enjoy agility, enrichment games, or any activity that keeps her mind and body moving. She’s not a match for couch potatoes, but active folks will LOVE her. Positive training, plenty of walks, and time set aside for snuggles and affection will make Lillian the happiest dog around. Story
Please help Maggie get out of the big city!! Maggie is the most affectionate dog I’ve ever had. She has so much love to give. She loves hikes and loves the water and belly rubs. She knows lots of commands and loves training. She loves to be active but can relax inside. She has no separation anxiety and has the run of the house when no one is home. Thunderstorms don’t bother her. On hikes she calmly walks past people and dogs, but she doesn’t want to greet them. She is slow to warm up to other dogs but loves her dog sister. She loves when we visit rural areas, and will walk past cars and houses and people no problem. But she is scared of our neighborhood in the city and our busy household with 5 people is too much for her. While she loves our older kids, a quieter, more predictable house with no kids would probably be a better fit. She will need some training with accepting new people in the home and reacting to noises outside, but she will be your forever best friend. Please help her!

Story
Barnaby is a young 7 month old pup that catches your eye and also your heart when you first meet him.  He is a wonderful young boy that weighs 34 pounds and should become a handsome adult dog that will weigh in the range of 50 pounds as an adult.  His life started with great hope but eventually the people who adopted this cute pup became cold hearted and treated him with physical hits and loud voices when he was not the perfect puppy.  A neighbor intervened and begged Critter Cavalry Rescue to take this young and innocent pup in to our program.  Barnaby escaped years of emotional and physical abuse.  He is such a bright and happy spirit that just needs some time to get his mind wrapped around the love that is being offered to him now.  No loud voices and the forgiveness when he is NOT perfect.  He is so nice and submissive and humble in spirit.  He just wants to be accepted and have fun with other dogs and maybe become good friends with a cat if needed.   His breed is more of a Shepherd/Heeler mix and we just adore his strong black and tan coat that is crowned with the best standup ears ever!   His face pleads with you to be happy with him and to be his FRIEND.  Can you imagine all these past months how sad it was not to feel love?  Critter Cavalry Rescue knows that there is a caring family, person,  young couple or empty nesters who just want to pour their love for a dog in need upon a boy like Barnaby.  He is neutered, had all his necessary shots, microchipped, healthy and truly not emotionally damaged.  He just needs that promise of kindness, steady guidance in gentle voices and love.   Love heals everything and makes us forget when love wasn't there in the past.  Barnaby will be a smart and easy dog to polish into a phenomenal companion influence in your daily life.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 8, 2026, 10:28 am
