Story
Zeus is a striking blue heeler mix with intelligence, loyalty, and a deep desire to connect with his person. He forms strong bonds and thrives when he has clear structure and leadership. True to his breed, he’s alert, athletic, and happiest with a job to do—whether that’s training sessions, outdoor adventures, or learning new skills. Zeus has been working hard on calm behaviors and is responding well to consistency. He does best with thoughtful introductions to other dogs and has shown a sweet, curious nature around cats. Zeus would flourish in an active home that appreciates the drive and devotion of a herding breed. With guidance and routine, he will be an incredibly loyal, fun, and devoted companion. ##2650404##

Story
Hi there! My name is Toffee, and I’m a 3-year-old, 52-lb female Australian Cattle Dog mix with a surprisingly calm and easygoing personality. While my breed mix might suggest high energy, I’m actually a laid-back girl who prefers cozy blankets, quiet time, and cuddling up with a favorite stuffed toy.I spent much of my early life on the streets, so I’m still learning that people can be kind. Because of this, I can be shy at first, but I have never shown any fear-based aggression. Once I feel safe, my sweet nature truly shines, and I form deep, loyal bonds with my people.I do very well with other dogs and coexist peacefully. I’m not especially playful, but I’m happy to share my space with canine friends—as long as they respect my naps, since being startled from deep sleep can be a little scary for me. I’ve also done well around cats. I haven’t lived with children, but I would likely do best with older kids who can move slowly and give me time to build trust.I’m crate trained and puppy-pad trained as well as non-destructive when left out, and I’m continuing to work on gaining confidence with leash walking and the outdoors. With patience, reassurance, and consistency, I continue to make progress every day.I’ve had a difficult start to life, but I am an incredibly sweet girl who deserves a loving forever home and a person willing to show me that the world isn’t such a scary place. Dogs like me often grow into the most devoted companions once we know we’re safe. ##2619943##

Story
Millie is a sweet, smart, and bubbly girl who&#39s ready to bring joy to her forever home. She loves walks, hikes, and proudly carrying her favorite orange rubber &#34wishbone&#34 toy. Millie knows several commands -- sit, down, place, and heel -- and she&#39ll happily show off her skills for her people. This vocal girl isn&#39t shy about telling you when she needs to go out or when she&#39s ready for attention. At home, she&#39s easygoing: after 10-15 minutes of play, Millie is content to lounge and relax. She&#39s house trained, kennel trained, and e-collar trained, making her a well-mannered companion. Millie thrives as the only pet and would do best in a home without young children. She enjoys snuggling when she&#39s in the mood and will reward her people with love, laughter, and loyalty. If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Millie participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.December 15, 2025, 11:17 am

Story
Meet Sydney, a 2-year-old Heeler mix weighing 47 pounds with a bright, playful spirit and a heart full of love. She’s incredibly well trained - she knows sit, shake, lay down, and stay - and she walks beautifully right beside you. Sydney is gentle, affectionate, treat-motivated, and loves playing with toys. She gets along great with kids and enjoys being part of the action. With dogs, she can be a little selective, and we’re unsure about cats, but with the right match she settles in wonderfully. Sydney is confident, curious, well-behaved, and always happy to soak up attention from her people. If you’re looking for a smart, loving companion who brings fun and loyalty to every day, Sydney is ready to be your girl.
