Story
Meet Bingo! Bingo is a 3 yo / 14lbs, tiny red heeler mix with three legs. He is GREAT with kids! Very sweet and playful (the missing leg does not slow him down). He does okay with dogs and he is working on his cat skills. He wants to chase cats but will listen when you tell him to stop. He is crate-trained which is a huge step in his house training. We believe he was loved and cared for early in life because he is such a sweetheart. He has been in good foster care for several weeks and he has proven himself to be a fast learner, super sweet, and very much ready for a great new forever home. Rescue Story: Bingo found his way to a good samaritan who immediately took him in. He was in really bad shape, but she cleaned him up and got weight put back on him. She considered taking him to the shelter, but due to the state of the Texas shelter system, she kept him and started searching for a rescue group. This is when CLASP got involved. It is unclear how he got into this position or how he lost his leg. Our vet does not believe the leg was removed through surgery. He could have been born this way or possibly lost it in an accident and not taken into vet care for treatment. Story
Meet Dalton, a sweet 2 to 3-year-old Blue Heeler mix who has had a tough start to life. He is a bit scared and unsure of new people and new situations, which can cause him to become nippy. But don't let that fool you! Underneath his fear is a loving and loyal dog who just needs a patient and understanding owner to help him build his confidence.Dalton has a lot of potential and with time, patience, and proper training, he will become a wonderful companion. He needs an adopter who is willing to work with him and help him overcome his fears. Positive reinforcement training methods will be the key to helping Blue feel safe and secure in his new home. He has shown great progress when working with our junior volunteers over the age of 8, but he still needs a low stress home where he can feel safe and secure. With his beautiful coat and bright, curious eyes, Dalton is sure to capture your heart. He loves to play and go for walks, but can sometimes be timid around new people or loud noises. He would do best in a quiet, low-stress home with a patient and understanding owner who can give him the love and support he needs to flourish. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who just needs a little extra TLC, Dalton may be the perfect match for you. With your help and guidance, he will become a confident and happy dog who will always be by your side. Curious to find out more about Dalton? Story
Meet Lucki, a 2 year old confident Cattle dog mix always on the lookout for his person. He is the perfect size at 40 lbs for any home with a play area. A confident, calm pet parent would be best suited to be Lucki's partner in crime! He enjoys his outdoor time, playing fetch, tug of war, or even nice long walks are shared activities that he would love partaking in with his favorite person. Don’t forget about treats either as this guy would do anything for a tasty milk bone! Although he prefers to be with his person, he does get along with most dogs.Lucki is crate and housetrained, He can walk on a leash pretty well, and is trying to work on being more social! We recommend a household with older kids, no cats, and no more than one other dog. For more information about Lucki please contact his foster mom Liz at (214) 616-6128. Story
Paloma is a 4 year old Cattle Dog/Collie mix, which makes for a beautiful and intelligent young lady who is independent and athletic. She is house and crate trained and loves to play with her circle of friends who are similar in size or larger. Same for kids; probably older kids would be her preference.Paloma gets to sleep in her foster mom's bed because she doesn't take over the bed, will share a blankie, and is really grateful to have a bed buddy. All-in-all, she has decent house manners, but will need to learn the house rules in her forever home. And she will. She enjoys car rides and standing at the highest point of the yard to scout the area for squirrels and cats that need to be informed of the boundary line. Her ideal home would be with someone who will make her feel special, ideally a one-and-only relationship. She's fine in a crate but prefers her human most of the time. She'll be a devoted companion to her new people. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. If you are interested in learning more about Paloma, please text Liz at 214-616-6128. If you are interested in meeting & potentially adopting her, please find out application here www.shelter2rescue.org If you are interested in fostering a pet , please visit our website www.shelter2rescue.org to fill out an application

Story
Kody came to me through my stepson who was unable to care for him long term. We’ve had Kody now for four years and have realized that our home is not what he needs as an Australian shepherd. He needs more time, space and stimulation than what we can give him. Because he has no “job” he’s taken to herding and protecting me as his “flock” and that’s beginning to cause issues with our other dogs in terms of resource guarding (mostly me!). Kody is timid when it comes to unknown noises and things he’s unsure of and is scared of thunder/fireworks. While he has overcome much timidity since being with us, he will require someone with patience and compassion while he adjusts to new surroundings. Kody walks well on leash, but becomes car sick easily. He is eager to please and knows basic tricks such as sit, lie down and paw. He has not been around young children or cats, so I cannot comment on his behavior in these circumstances.
