UPDATE 9/11/23. TILLIE HAS JUST GRADUATED FROM BOARD AND TRAIN! She played with at least 5 dogs there, knows her commands, and is ready for her forever home! Tillie is VERY active and would be best suited with another doggie playmate in her new home. OR perhaps someone who would like to train with her for agility or some other event. Tillie is exceptionally smart! PRECIOUS TILLIE!! LOOK AT THOSE EARS!!!!! Tillie is a medium sized dog and weighs approximately 37 pounds. She is an Australian cattle dog mix, 9 months old, spayed, current on vaccinations and on heartworm preventative. She is also microchipped. Tillie was out of time at a local shelter and we just HAD to get her! SMART!! SMART!! And LOVES to play fetch with you. Here is a video of her with her "big stick" which she alternates with her "Tillie Ball". She has a lot of playing to do and a lot of love to learn about. Tillie will need an active family that will make her a real part of their family and take her with them where they are able. For more information, please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com.

Story
James is looking for a loving foster home where they can rest and recover while receiving medical treatment. Reason for Foster: Inflamed neuter site; Upper Respiratory Infection (URI); Hunched when walkingFoster Time Frame: Approximately 2 Weeks (The foster timeframe may vary depending on recovery and any follow-up medical needs.) Foster Care Plan: James is being treated for an inflamed neuter site as well as an upper respiratory infection, which is similar to a common cold. While recovering, they may have symptoms such as sneezing, congestion, and nasal/eye discharge. Because URI can be contagious to other dogs, we recommend keeping them separated from resident dogs until they have fully recovered. Additionally, James has occasionally shown an unusual hunch when walking and our medical team will be looking into that to ensure there is no injury. They will go home with medication and all the supplies needed for their care. How to take this pet home...ADOPT: James is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which allows prospective adopters to take pets home before they are available for adoption. Visit Operation Kindness and speak with our Client Services team. Foster-to-Adopt placements are first-come, first-served.FOSTER: Interested in fostering this pet? Email foster@operationkindness.org.

Story
Meet Luz — her name means *Light*, and that’s exactly what she brings into every room she enters!  Luz and her mama, Luna (*Moon*), were rescued from a rural shelter where their chances weren’t looking good. But thanks to a kind-hearted foster who stepped up, this little beam of sunshine is now safe, loved, and ready for her forever home!   Luz is about a year old, weighs 23 lbs, and is the perfect petite pup. She’s loving, playful, curious, and full of joy. She’s great with kids, housetrained, spayed, and gets along well with other dogs.  Luz is the kind of girl who will happily snuggle on the couch after a good play session and follow you around just to be near.   Ready to let some *light* into your life?  Apply to adopt Luz at [codysfriendsrescue.org](https://www.codysfriendsrescue.org)   #AdoptLuz #CodysFriendsRescue #RescueDog #PetitePup #DFWRescue #LightOfMyLife ##2077396##

Story
Meet Dandy, the sweetest little Texas Cowpoke! Dandy is a bright, affectionate 1.2-year-old Blue Heeler mix. Weighing in at just over 30 pounds, she’s the perfect size—not too big, not too small. She’s smart, athletic, and full of personality. Dandy loves playing fetch, tug, and learning new tricks. Once she’s all tuckered out from a day of play, she loves snuggling up on her bed and relaxing near her humans. Dandy is very people-oriented and forms strong bonds with the humans around her. She follows her foster mom and dad like their sweet, happy-go-lucky little shadow. She’s happiest with structure, routine, and quality one-on-one time. She is house trained, crate trained, walks well on leash, and is highly food-motivated. She already knows sit, stay, down, shake, turn, and play dead—and she loves learning more. As a herding breed mix, Dandy can be mouthy and vocal during play and may lightly nip at heels, hands, or toes—this is something an experienced owner will recognize and know how to redirect appropriately or with basic training she would thrive. She is very gentle. Dandy had a difficult start in life and is still building confidence, so she would do best in a calm, adult-only household with experienced dog owners who understand herding breeds and value positive structure and consistency. Dandy would thrive as the only pet, where she can fully relax and not feel the need to compete for attention. With the right home, she will be a deeply loyal, loving companion who wants nothing more than to be part of her person’s world. She loves her toys but she destroys them as most young dogs do but it sure is fun she says! She’s a vocal girlie and will TELL you when she’s upset through growls and grumbles-it's her way of talking and communicating. That said, no matter how she grumbles or growls, she has never once bitten anyone or made us feel unsafe. We think Dandy was abandoned by her former owners or came from a backyard breeder situation because she has some emotional trauma, but came house trained and knowing sit. She is a bit of a scaredy cat and an anxious girlie, which we’re working so hard on with training and love. Dandy is still a bit scared on walks and needs encouragement to get out the door, but generally enjoys it once she gets going. She is gaining self esteem/confidence daily. ##2620616##
