UPDATE 9/11/23. TILLIE HAS JUST GRADUATED FROM BOARD AND TRAIN! She played with at least 5 dogs there, knows her commands, and is ready for her forever home! Tillie is VERY active and would be best suited with another doggie playmate in her new home. OR perhaps someone who would like to train with her for agility or some other event. Tillie is exceptionally smart! PRECIOUS TILLIE!! LOOK AT THOSE EARS!!!!! Tillie is a medium sized dog and weighs approximately 37 pounds. She is an Australian cattle dog mix, 9 months old, spayed, current on vaccinations and on heartworm preventative. She is also microchipped. Tillie was out of time at a local shelter and we just HAD to get her! SMART!! SMART!! And LOVES to play fetch with you. Here is a video of her with her "big stick" which she alternates with her "Tillie Ball". She has a lot of playing to do and a lot of love to learn about. Tillie will need an active family that will make her a real part of their family and take her with them where they are able. For more information, please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com.

Story
Chili is a heeler mix who was found wandering out and about by a Good Samaritan. When this kind soul offered Chili a ride, she never looked back and away they went! Chili's new friend really wanted to keep Chili, but her dog had other ideas and it soon became clear that Chili would do better in another home. Chili is microchipped and attempts were made to contact her original owner, but that person never responded. We suspect that's because Chili is deaf. However, she's also smart as a whip and eager to please. Her foster mom has been able to teach Chili many commands using sign language and would be happy to share what she knows with any potential adopter. Chili is playful and silly and loving and would be a great addition to any family that has a little time and patience to continue her training. She's been around lots of older kids at a riding stable, where she spends her days, and has been well-mannered with all of them. She has a couple of dog buddies, too, but kitties aren't her thing. Chili is happy and healthy and would love to live her best life with someone like you. Please consider opening your heart and home to this beautiful puppy who has so much to offer. You'll be glad you did. For more information, please TEXT Mary at 214-783-2060 and she'll call you back!

Story
Prince was living at a used Auto Car Lot in a very bad area.  He slept under cars to stay cool and would wander off when people showed up and come back at night to go under a vehicle.  We heard about his sad existence and we brought him into our rescue.  He is 3 to 4 years old and 65 lbs.  He is a true protector of his home.  He prefers females but with slow introductions he is ok with his male foster parent.  He is house and crate trained.  He is curious with cats and great with dogs after proper introductions.  He is truly "the flying dog".  He loves to be outside and will jump from the dock into the water to catch a frisbee as well as launch himself on top of something high to jump onto a passing dog buddy as if he is jumping into a wrestling ring!  lol...Prince has huge potential for the family or single person that wants to invest their time and love into him.  The perfect family will be active in nature and outdoors and understanding of him wanting to be a part of you and your life.  He loves to give kisses and loves to be with his humans.   ##744249##

Story
Duke is a loving guy who weighs just under 70lbs.  He is a sweetheart.  Shy at first but once he opens his heart, he will totally capture yours! His playfulness and energy does not show his age.  He's still got all the pep in his step and loves to play!  Tug of War is his favorite game.  He loves to chase balls and zoom around the yard like a puppy at times.  Duke loves sunbathing, walks great on a leash and does well in the car.  Snacks are definately one of his favoritest things ever. Duke is crate trained, potty trained, knows basic commands and even does well getting his nails done and visiting the vet.He is very treat and toy motivated and it brings him much joy to make his humans happy! NO CATS or small animals for Duke please.  He does well with other, friendly dogs with slow introduction.  He can have intense, playful energy but for the right dog, would make a great companion.  Duke would also be more than happy being the only pet in the home.  Duke prefers older (if any) children.  The "chaos" that sometimes comes with smaller children in a home, make him nervous and he will try to get away from them.  He does great with older or more experienced children. He loves to share the bed with his people, and will always let you know if there is a stranger at the gate or someone at the door!  Duke is big, strong and often clumsy, but he is also a love and a joy to spend time with. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.  Duke is heartworm negative and on ProHeart 12 for heartworm prevention. He is totally set until November 2025! If you're interested in meeting Duke or would like to learn more about him, please visit our website or submit an application for adoption!  http://www.MarleighsFriends.org/ ##1177850##

Story
Sweet Gunner spent months of his young life in a shelter, overlooked. Everyone saw another black dog and walked past. What they didn't see was his SWEET personality - his gentle disposition and his HUGE HEART.From the moment he left the shelter behind, he has been nothing but perfection. He sleeps well in his crate, instantly got along with his foster sister (dog), has had ZERO accidents and just wants to be showered with love. Being so young in the shelter, he didn't even know how to play, but since being in his foster home, a whole new side has come out and it's just adorable!  (see video) Gunner is very smart, food motivated and eager to please, so learning new tricks and routine is a breeze for him! Gunner loves everyone he meets, on two or four legs.  He makes friends everywhere he goes.He is playful, goofy and loving. He does great with other dogs and children.  He has also done well with meeting cats. Gunner is the total package and would make a wonderful addition to any lucky family who chooses to give him a chance. ##2533842##
