She is smart, fun, and does well with both people and most dogs she meets as long as they dogs don’t get out of line. Sloane came to the shelter with her rat terrier friend, Waffles, so we know she is really good with small dogs. She loves to play in the shelter yards and her kennel is clean. She enjoys playing ball and running up and down the fence which is pretty typical for a cattle dog. We are pretty sure she would enjoy chasing squirrels in her very own backyard someday. Sloane is 2 years old and a perfect size at 40 pounds and knows basic commands. She is a beautiful cowgirl waiting for her very own ranch house. This friendly and unique three year old cattle dog mix came to the shelter as a stray. Everyone assumed an owner would come because Roman was picked up with a medical cone on him due to a skin infection. Our rescue was called, and we got him to the vet. They confirmed he had a skin infection, but assured us he was otherwise a healthy dog. With medication, his hair is growing back, and he is looking and feeling great. Roman is a great size at 34 pounds and is on the schedule to be neutered soon. Roman has shown no aggression to any dogs and is very loving and friendly to all people he meets. Ruby is a 1 year old, 45 lb Blue Heeler mix, maybe with Border Collie or some type of Hound because she is very vocal, especially when she plays. Ruby has gorgeous amber eyes, and brindle markings. Foster mom says that Ruby is really good for being a puppy still! She is very smart and very food motivated, so she is easily treat trained. She knows "sit" and "lay" and occasionally will "shake paws." Ruby loves toy puzzles and the challenge of searching for and discovering her treat! She also likes to play with other dogs and toys and can entertain herself. "Chuck-it Ball" fetch is her favorite game, and she's good at it! Ruby loves to snuggle, but she can be a little possessive with the people she bonds with. Her fosters are training her to correct that behavior and to assure her there is plenty of love to go around!
