Story
Riggins is a 6-year-old, 40-pound Blue Heeler mix with a goofy personality and a heart full of love. I have had him since he was just 6 weeks old, and he has always been an energetic, playful boy who loves being outside and running around. Like a typical heeler, he can be very vocal and mouthy during playtime. Riggins is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines, so he is fully ready for his next chapter. He has lived around ducks and did wonderfully with them, and he absolutely adored the one child he has spent time with — immediately deciding that little boy was “his human.” As Riggins has gotten older, he has developed more anxiety, especially in busy environments with multiple high-energy dogs. He currently lives with several other dogs, including young puppies, and while he does enjoy playing, he can become overwhelmed in group settings. When overstimulated, he may bark, growl, or snap at the other dogs, though he has never injured another animal. Because of this, I truly believe Riggins would thrive in a calmer home with either no other dogs or perhaps one or two older, laid-back companions. He needs an experienced adopter who understands herding breeds and is willing to continue providing structure, patience, and guidance. He has worked with trainers and has even been on daily anxiety medication, but despite every effort, it has become clear that his current environment simply is not the best fit for him. Riggins is house trained, crate trained, and does fairly well on a leash, although he can pull when excited. He is incredibly affectionate and deeply loyal to his people. His ideal home would have plenty of space to run and explore — preferably with land or a large yard — and a calmer atmosphere where he can feel secure and relaxed. Rehoming him has been an incredibly difficult decision made entirely out of love and the desire to give him the life he truly deserves. He really is a sweet, energetic boy who just needs a different environment to help him thrive. Riggins is loyal, loving, goofy, and full of personality, and with the right home, he has so much happiness left to give. Apply to adopt Riggins today! We This pet is participating in the Dallas Pets Alive rehoming program. All of the medical, behavioral and other information about this pet was provided by the pet’s owner. Story
Dolly may be the perfect dog to step into your waiting household. At nearly one years old, she has learned all her basic skills from sleeping in her crate to taking care of business. Listening and knowing when to “leave it” and how to shake are part of her best qualities. Part of a full household, Dolly might enjoy the attention of a small household but has spent time with other pups in her litter. Once she spends time with her new family, Dolly's energy level will settle into her new playtime routine. To get started, chewing on a bone will always be a favorite pastime. Dolly will definitely enjoy getting quality cuddle time and having a warm bed, a loving family, and a happy home of her own. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. Looking for a Forever Home – Blue Heeler (Dallas, TX Area) Meet Knoxx, a stunning Blue Heeler who wandered into a rural main street back in December. Sadly, no one came forward for her, and she wasn’t chipped — but she’s now fully vetted and ready for her forever family. • Age: Approximately 3–4 years • Health: Spayed, fully vetted, heartworm negative, and on prevention • Temperament: Exceptional on leash and thrives with human companionship • Best Home Fit: Ideally the only dog, though she may do well with a male dog of equal or larger size. Best suited for a home with children 10+. Knoxx will thrive with a confident leader who understands her breed or has experience with working dogs. She is loyal, intelligent, and affectionate — the perfect partner for someone who can give her structure and love.

Story
Georgia is about 8 years old, and we adopted her from Operation Kindness. She has been a sweet companion and is extremely low maintenance — she has never had an accident indoors, is smart, loyal, and very easy to live with. Georgia enjoys walks, naps, and absolutely loves treats, but she’s also content relaxing quietly and just being near her person. She is not good with other animals and would do best as the only pet in the home. She is also not comfortable around children, which is why we have made the difficult decision to rehome her. We are looking for an adult-only household where she can feel safe and settled. If you’re looking for a dog who is fully house-trained, low drama, affectionate, and past the puppy chaos stage, Georgia would make a wonderful companion.

Story
Meet my baby Shilo, a 3-year-old red heeler who truly has my whole heart. I sadly have 2 weeks to rehome him due to my new work schedule as well as issues with my new apartment landlord. He’s playful, so loving, and always wants to be right by my side, he’s the definition of a velcro dog.Shilo didn’t have the best start in life, so he can be a little sensitive, especially with people touching his head. But once he trusts you, he is the sweetest, most loyal companion you could ask for. This is honestly one of the hardest things I’ve had to write. I love him so much, but I know he deserves more time, space, and attention than I can give him right now. He would do best with someone who has a yard and the time to play with him and love on him the way he deserves. All I want is for him to find a home where he’s happy, safe, and loved every single day.If you think you could be that person for him, it would mean everything to me.

Story
Goose was found in Grand Prairie, TX. He would approach people playfully, yet cautiously. My wife and I decided to bring him in because something felt different about him. Over the last few months, Goose has gained his confidence back. He loves walks, jumping up off all fours in excitement when he sees a leash. He has found his fins and loves to swim. He is independent, but will match anyone’s energy if they are looking to relax or play. He is extremely loyal, and loves whoever loves him. He is ready for his forever home and family!

Story
Let's go Eevee! This fun, energetic girl will Pokémon-go with you on any adventure. Eevee is a rambunctious bundle of energy that would fit in great with a family that gets outdoors and has space for her to run around at home. She is a bit of an attention hog, so she will do best in a single-dog home, but she has lived with both a cat and a dog and may be able to settle in with the right animal friends with enough time and training. Eevee needs animal companions that are respectful of her space when food is out, or to be fed separately. Owners and animal friends would need to be able to handle her high energy play-drive, so similar sized dog friends may be best. Eevee has lived with a toddler for two years, but may be better with older children after a slow introduction. Eevee is smart and very trainable. Earlier in her puppyhood, Eevee did a 3 week board and train and has some basic obedience training that, while rusty, could easily be honed further. She's showed aptitude for agility-style courses, and can be convinced to do most anything with the right treats. Eevee's prior trainer has stated that he would give any new owner two free training sessions to support Eevee's transition into a new home. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Eevee, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Riley is eight months old and 25 pounds. She is exceptionally playful and enjoys the company of children. She has a fondness for walks, frozen carrots, chasing bubbles, and swimming. While she loves playing in water, she is not particularly fond of baths which is hilarious. Riley is also affectionate and loves to cuddle. She will happily accompany you to every room! Furthermore, she will sit beside you while you are doing homework or even watch television with you. Story
Her name is Molly and she appears to be a MINI-Aussie! (There isn't a selection for that on the provided list) She is about 8 months old and weighs ~13 pounds. She has been wormed, fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped! The only thing missing is a home of her own! Molly is full of joy and play! Such a happy little girl and she gets along great with the other two small dogs in the foster home. Molly is housetrained and has learned to leave the resident cat Alone! =) She is very intelligent and absolutely the cutest thing on 4 legs. We would like to see Molly go to a home that has at least one other small dog for her to romp and play with and to someone who will cuddle with her when she's tired! She is a Darling!! If you feel you can offer her a safe and loving home for many years to come, please complete an adoption application you will find on our website near her photos. Here's the link! https://www.baytownhumanesociety.org/available-animals/molly
