Our 2YO Shrek is a bit shy. Staff volunteers say he`s unsure at first but warms up shortly after. And boy does he come out of his shell! During playtime volunteers say Shrek likes to play seek--then targets (sort of hide/seek/catch/run). Shrek has been observed as waiting for other doggos to chase him then he runs. He`s a kid at heart we say..... all boy. Shrek needs someone to keep up with his energy. He likes to run and play. Nutmeg is approximately 4 years old and is a red heeler mix. He is always happy and gets along with other dogs and currently lives in a household with a cat. He is moderately playful and willing to follow other dogs leads. Because of his herding instinct he does nip at strangers that come on his turf. We aren't sure how he is with small children but believe he will do well with older ones. Nutmeg is  housetrained, neutered and current on his vaccines. He doesn't like being in a crate so is loose in the house or outside. We feel he would be fine in a one dog family providing his human(s) has the desire and plenty of time to spend with him. A home visit is part of his adoption process so he is available for adoption in the immediate DFW area only.
