Story
Say hello to April, a sweet pup currently hanging out in a foster home with five other furry friends, all weighing less than 40lbs. While she gets along fine with her fellow dogs, April isn't really the playful type with them. She's more of a people person, always drawn to human company. Living alongside her canine buddies, April also shares her space with a pig, which she finds amusing to tease. On walks, she can't help but show a keen interest in cats, often trying to chase them down. But don't worry, she's pretty chill around other dogs she meets on a leash. When it comes to training, April's a star. She's crazy about treats and takes them like a champ, making training sessions a breeze. Despite the occasional barking at the pig, April's a good listener and will come inside right away when called. She's all about making her humans happy. In her downtime, April's all about catching some Z's and taking it easy with plenty of naps. She's got a healthy appetite and eagerly sits for treats. Plus, she's always game for a long walk or a new adventure. At home, she loves snuggling up close to her people, showing her affection in the coziest way possible. With her lovable personality and affectionate nature, April would be the perfect fit for any loving home. Story
An easy-going lady, El-Zara hopes to find her next home and continue receiving lots of love. Through no fault of her own, she's searching for a new low-key home, and her previous family wants her to continue to receive the hugs and happiness she deserves. At about six-years-old, El-Zara knows what she likes (chillaxing) and what she prefers to avoid (getting up early). She's a pro on her leash, thrives on her daily walks, and even enjoys a short chase with small wildlife if they cross her path. Keeping up a healthy routine will be important as El-Zara reaches her middle years, so she will need to forego treats as she gets to know her new family. She's good with kids and other dogs, so she's open to a wide variety of households, as long as she can stay close to your side. Story
Lando is the biggest angel and super sweet. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s about 4 years old, 45lb, and a heeler mix. He has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Lando is looking for his forever home after being abandoned on the side of the highway from his previous one. His favorite things are squeaky toys and snuggles. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s friendly with other dogs, cats, and kids. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s so calm with the occasional zoomies and loves to cuddle and play with toys. He would love a home with another dog to keep him company, or someone who can give him lots of cuddles. He needs a low-activity lifestyle for the next 6 months as heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s being treated for heartworms (a sponsor has already paid for the medical bills) but should be good to go after that. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s not a big fan of small, enclosed spaces (Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m guessing from his past home), but I will provide a large crate for him. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s house trained, knows sit, and leash trained. No triggers have been found, he sometimes barks when he is excited/wants to go outside. He is very smart and quick to learn commands. Lando deserves the best home because he really is the easiest and most gentle-hearted dog I know. Story
This boys story is so sad. His family left him in a backyard and when he was "too much" they dumped in on neighbors. When the neighbors didn't want him, they dumped him. He is a very scared boy with a lot of energy that he doesn't know what to do with. His foster mom gets frustrated with him too. Why do we tell you this....because he deserves better! He deserves a family who will be patient with him and teach him right from wrong. Teach him that humans aren't scary. Teach him to trust. Once he knows you, he is the funniest, sweetest kid but because everyone gets frustrated with him, he retreats. He wants to play with the other dogs in his foster home but they don't want to play with him because he is young and they are older. This boy has been failed by every single person that ever had him and that time has come to an end. Not only are we looking for an active family with older kids and another animal, but we are looking for another foster home for him because he needs more. Dogs aren't stuffed. They are living, breathing, beautiful creatures who when taught how to live in this big scary world, provide the most comfort we will ever know. Buddy Holly is crate and potty trained. He LOVES rides in the car and walks. He does require a harness and collar when walking. He is so smart and sweet, just needs a patient and loving home so he can thrive. Not frustration because you're too busy to put in the time and effort. Buddy is very young. He is a big boy but still very young. Please consider adopting Buddy Holly. He is the most beautiful blue eyed boy!

Story
Joy is super loving, affectionate girl that loves to lay in bed and snuggle. She's super fast and energetic. Joy is very smart and easily trained. She already has some tricks up her sleeve. She doesn't care for smaller animals- cats, small dogs, etc. Children make her nervous, but once she's familiar with them, you will never find a better protector. Hobbies include, running, chasing birds and flying insects, swimming, sleeping, eating, and rolling around on the floor. We love Joy tremendously, but due to being on a fixed income, we cannot afford to keep her in the life she deserves.

Story
Meet the lovely Ellie VI. She is a healthy 2 year old, Aussie/Lab mix that weighs 70 lbs. This sweet baby girl will be excited to meet her new loving family. Ellie is white/tan and has a blue eye and a brown eye. She is a lot of fun, playful, smart, energetic, clever, and loves affection. Ellie is an indoor dog, but she enjoys daily walks and playing outside with her family members. She is wonderful with nice people. She can be protective, but not aggressive. She may bark initially at strangers. Ellie strongly prefers to be the only pet in the house. She doesn't want to share the spotlight. She does not get along with other female dogs. She has never been around male dogs or cats. She has never been around small children either. But I can assure you, as an only pet she will be your best friend her entire life! Ellie has been spayed and microchipped, and all of her vaccines are up-to-date. Ellie is house-trained and leash-trained. She has never been in a crate. She is not used to being alone for more than 3 hours. Ellie was given to us by neighbors who moved away from this area. They were not able to take her with them. She was 4 months old at the time. So we have been taking care of her for almost 2 years. Unfortunately, we are an older couple who now deal with many more health issues. We have extreme difficulty caring for Ellie properly. We also have another female dog. We have to keep them separated, otherwise they fight often. This has become beyond stressful and costly. Although we love Ellie very much and will miss her sweet presence, it is critical to find her a caring new family soon. She is very lovable and a great companion. You will love Ellie! She will give you no choice. :) Please apply to adopt Ellie VI today! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Ellie VI, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org.
