Story
This is Oberon, He is an energetic blue heeler that loves playing and working. We want to find him a new home because we can't give him the care he needs. We got Oberon when he was 7 months old from an amazing family. They told us that they didn’t know everything that had happened but from their understanding he had gone through at least 4 other families before them and the conditions during that time were not great. Oberon came with some anxiety issues, but they were minor so we thought he would do just fine. I introduced him to my girls (1 year old and 4 years old) and he was gentle and playful and awesome with them. We were told that he had anxiety and that he liked females more than males. We noticed this as he is really timid around me. Oberon matches the energy of those around him so my wife being pregnant and his anxiety got way worse and we're worried he won't do well with the new baby. He needs a calm environment where he will be played with and taken on walks regularly.

Story
Hi, I am Shinzo: an 9.5 yr old, 70 lb male McNab mix. The first word that comes to mind when you see me is regal, being poised in my stature, walk and behavior, but you might catch me playfully hopping with my dog buddies. When we first meet I need a moment to stand back to check you out just to determine if you're friend or foe, but don't worry...I'm a love bug after I've made my decision and see that you are worthy. I get along great with the dogs in my foster house, and I am great with kids. (Sorry, I don't like cats though.) I prefer not to bark (even when others are) as I am too well-mannered, but I have a wonderful deep bark if needed. I already know how to use a doggy door and am completely trained to do my business outside. Unlike some of my herding friends, I'm not hyperactive. I do need room and time to exercise (wait till you see how good I am on a leash!) but I also enjoy a nice nap at your side. I might nudge you with my nose if I feel you're ignoring me, but you'll think it's super cute. Don't fret, this regal boy doesn't require a throne...just a home and family where I can show you what a perfect dog I am to love and to love you.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $100. Story
With floppy ears, Luke, age 3, is an adult cattle dog mix with perpetual puppy cuteness and sweetness. Weighing in at 35 pounds, he likes to spend his days cuddled up in a comfy spot staring out the window and is always up for an outdoor adventure. Truly the best of both worlds! Luke has impeccable indoor manners (crate and house trained) and would spend all day curled up by your side if able (it cannot be stressed enough how much he adores people). He is a very smart and treat motivated pup. Luke is working on his leash skills and not getting overly excited around other dogs and with a proper and slow introduction he does well, but truly thrives in home as the only dog. He would love for his forever family to continue his training to support him in being the best pup he can be. Could that be you? Dogs are not placed on a first- come, first-served basis. Story
Chestnut is a 9-year-old, white, black and brown 29.6 pound eloquent and majestic Queensland Heeler. She is totally house and crate trained, gets along with all the other dogs in her foster home, male and female, big and small. She's not a big barker but when out in the back yard will do an occasional bark with other dogs or people to let them know she is there. Chestnut came to be a CAWS dog because she was found as a stray, no collar, tag or chip. She now has a CAWS chip and will forever be safe and secure. We did blood work and it is perfect, whew. Miss Chestnut will chew on your snow boots or shoes if you leave them lying around, so be sure to put them where they belong and give her toys and chewies of her own to chew on. She will also chew through a leash so need to be sure she is not left unattended. Chestnut knows sit and shake. She takes treats very gently. She likes to ruff up the bed into the middle of the room. She is offered to get up on the couch but she does not want to, prefers the floor or her trampoline bed. Chestnut is a perfect assistant during the work week for her foster mom while she works. She rides wonderfully in the car. Chestnut is her foster mom's shadow in the house. This magnificent lady just needs to find the home she can call her own, which she is so deserving of. Chestnut would probably be okay without another dog but she tends to try to play so preferably a home with another dog. If you are looking for a glorious gal to be an unconditional friend, please make arrangements for a meet and greet. Story
You know those people who you might not notice at first, but who always seem to bring love to every room they enter? Well, that's me. My name is Patch, and I am a heeler mix, which means I'm incredibly smart and very devoted to my pack. I am a little shy, and I think I just need more exposure to new things, and I'd love a patient, devoted human to help me learn about this amazing world. I am well behaved, completely crate and potty trained, and so eager to please! I'll work for food - or love - and snuggles, which might be better for me as I do need to lose a few pounds. (Well, that's what the vet says...I say, who doesn't want more of me to love!) I love praise, and I'm a quiet-natured dog. I live to deliver love, protection and an opportunity for humans to give me belly rubs. I get along with other dogs, but I prefer mellow, independent pups who don't get in my face. I do give really clear signals when I'm uncomfortable, like warning growls when other pups get in my face, my space or try to take my food, but I also take corrections from my humans really well. I'm a very quick learner and I love walks. I'm pretty good on a leash, but I am a herding dog, so sometimes I need my human to remind me to slow down. I would love daily walks, but I'm not a trouble maker if I don't get a walk. I am scared of fireworks, but a weighted blanket and snuggles from my foster mom calm me right down. I can be reluctant to go into homes and buildings at first, but with patience, love and help from my humans, I will cross anything - even new door thresholds - because I trust my people. I am not sure about cats. I sometimes growl at them, and I am curious, but remember, my instincts are to herd, and if I'm honest, cats look like they need to be herded. I'd do best in a home with patient humans who want to help me learn new things and become even more confident. In return, I will make sure my pack never feels lonely again.
