Story
We adopted Lucy from Rescue Rovers and have had her now for 3 1/2 years. She is such a lovable dog but does have some behavior issues where she becomes aggressive around other dogs and people that she is not familiar with. She is a Blue Heeler / Shepard Mix so she tends to try to herd people like a flock of sheep by bitting at their pants down by the ankle. She also has aggressive issues with other dogs but has been trained with a company called Tip Top K9. We have an E-Collar that she can use if needed which was used in her training. We are looking for a new home for her preferably a Rural area where she can run around a lot more so that she can get plenty of exercise. My schedule at work has gotten in the way of me being able to give her what she needs and deserves and I hate having to keep her in her kennel while I'm gone. She has been living at my mom's house for the last 3 months but it's only temporary until I can find her a new home.

Story
Hi, I'm Andie-a 1-year-old Australian Cattle Dog with a heart full of potential and energy to spare! I'm in my teenage phase, which means I'm smart, curious, and always on the move, but I'm still figuring out the world (and my manners). I know some basic commands and walk well on a leash, but I could use a little extra guidance and gentle encouragement to help me grow into the best version of myself. I can be a bit of a wallflower at first, so I'll need time to warm up and build confidence-but once I do, I'm affectionate, loyal, and totally toy-obsessed. If you're patient, kind, and ready for a sweet project pup, I just might be your perfect match!*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Tri Color Secondary Color: Red Tick Weight: 46 Age: 1yrs 11mths 1wks

Story
Meet Pita! Pita is a 9-month-old, 60-pound cattle dog mix who’s as smart as he is playful. His favorite game is tug, and he’s already mastered sit, lay down, wait, stay, leave it, and don’t beg. He’s great on leash, too—he’ll even sit with a gentle pull upward. Food is the way to his heart, which makes him highly trainable. Because he can be protective of his meals, his foster has been teaching him to sit before eating and practice calmly giving up his bowl mid-meal for a tasty reward. With consistency, he’ll keep improving. Pita is house-trained and lets you know when he needs to go out by politely whining at the door. He’s never had an accident, loves chewing sticks, and is eager to learn more every day. This smart, loyal pup is looking for an active home that will continue his training and give him the love and structure he thrives on. If you’re ready for a playful companion with brains and heart, Pita could be your perfect match! Pita is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and ready to find his forever home. Interested in adopting Pita? Story
Meet Forest, a 7-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with a gentle heart that’s still learning how to trust the world. Life hasn’t always been easy for him, and people are still a little scary—but with patience, kindness, and the comfort of a calm home, Forest is already showing that he can blossom. Now settling into a foster home, Forest is experiencing what it’s like to be a loved pet for the first time. He watches everything quietly, taking cues from the dogs around him. Other dogs are his safe place—he clings to them for confidence, follows their lead, and truly relaxes when he’s in their company. A friendly, steady canine companion will help him continue to grow.At the shelter, Forest surprised everyone with his bravery. He enjoyed rides in a stroller, where he felt secure enough to peek out and observe the world. Little by little, he even started taking gentle walks on leash, showing just how much possibility lies beneath his timid exterior.Forest is searching for a loving adopter who understands that trust takes time. He needs someone willing to move at his pace, offer space when he needs it, and celebrate every small step forward. With patience and a quiet, supportive home—especially one with another dog—Forest will keep coming out of his shell. If your heart has room for a shy dog with enormous potential, Forest is ready to begin that journey with you.

Story
Meet Vampira, a 9-year-old Cattle Dog/Kelpie mix with a heart of gold and the best crooked-tooth smile you’ll ever see. Her grin alone could win anyone over, but it’s her sweet temperament and gentle spirit that truly make her shine.Vampira is a dog-friendly superstar — in fact, she’s often used as a neutral dog during dog testing at the shelter because of her calm, steady presence. Around other dogs, her fun, playful personality really comes out. She loves to romp, mingle, and enjoy good company, and she’d be thrilled to have a canine buddy in her new home (though she’d be just as happy soaking up love from her people). At 9 years old, Vampira is the perfect mix of mellow and ready-for-adventure: she’d enjoy a daily walk, some gentle playtime, and then a soft, cozy bed to curl up on. She’s looking for an adopter who wants a loyal companion by their side — someone who appreciates a loving dog with a quirky smile and a calm, joyful energy. If you’re searching for an affectionate, dog-savvy sweetheart to complete your home, Vampira is ready to steal your heart.
