Story
Meet Lucy — your future snuggle soulmate!Lucy is a 3-year-old Catahoula/Cattle Dog mix with a gorgeous red merle coat and stunning dichromatic eyes. Kids always point out how unbelievably soft her fur is — “as soft as a horse’s nose!” — and they aren’t wrong.Lucy is an incredibly loving girl who adores every member of the family, including children. She’s fully potty trained, great on leash, and listens beautifully. Her favorite place in the world is curled up right next to her humans on the couch or in bed, soaking up all the affection she can get. She’s playful, enjoys toys, and is very food-motivated, which makes her fun to train and easy to bond with. Lucy has even completed dog training school, and her adopter will receive a complimentary session to help her settle into her new home.Lucy is dog-selective and will do best as the only dog in the home, though she coexists well with her foster family’s small dog.If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will fill your home with warmth and love, Lucy might just be your perfect match. If you’d like to meet Lucy, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application! Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet Shinzo 11 years old • 70 lbs • McNab Mix Shinzo is a distinguished gentleman with a regal presence and a heart full of love. At 11 years old, this 70-pound McNab mix has left behind the hyper energy of youth and now enjoys a calmer, more balanced lifestyle. He’s the perfect companion if you’re looking for a loyal dog who appreciates both leisurely walks and quiet naps by your side. While Shinzo may take a moment to observe new people before warming up, once he decides you’re a friend, he transforms into a total love bug. He gets along beautifully with the dogs in his foster home and is also wonderful with kids (though he’s not a fan of cats). Unlike many herding breeds, Shinzo is refreshingly mellow—he rarely barks, and when he does, it’s with a deep, dignified voice. This boy has excellent house manners: he’s fully house-trained, uses a doggy door like a pro, and knows how to settle calmly indoors. He’s a polite walker on leash and doesn’t demand constant activity—just enough exercise to stretch his legs and then he’s perfectly content to curl up next to you. Shinzo may nudge you with his nose if he feels ignored, but trust us, it’s impossible not to find it endearing.Shinzo doesn’t need a throne—just a loving home and a family who will cherish him for the sweet, gentle soul he is. If Shinzo sounds like your perfect match, fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-applicationPlease note: CAWS carefully matches each animal with the right home, and applications may take up to 48 hours to process. Shinzo’s adoption fee is $100, and like all CAWS pets, he is fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Story
Meet the happy half dozen! Freddie is one of six puppies looking to find their forever families! At just 9 weeks old, these pups are a Heeler/Lab/Boxer mix of sorts, giving them a wonderful blend of intelligence, loyalty, and playful energy. The litter includes five boys and one girl, all healthy, happy, and full of puppy curiosity. They are at an ideal age for bonding, training, and learning what it means to be part of a loving home. This breed mix makes them smart and eager to learn, friendly, social, playful, confident and affectionate. They are each seeking a family that can take them out on adventures and positively expose them to the world outside of their backyards. These puppies have been growing up together and enjoy playtime, exploring their surroundings, and curling up for well-deserved naps. With proper guidance, consistency, and love, they will mature into loyal, well-rounded companions.Potential adopters should have a solid plan for continued socialization with new people, places, and other pets. Puppies should be signed up for an adopter accompanied puppy training class within 30 days of adoption. CAWS offers a $50 adoption fee refund after the successful completion of a 6-8 week, in-person training course. The adoption fee is $300 and includes all first years vaccines, dewormers, microchip, health check, and spay/neuter. To be considered, please apply online at caws.org. Thanks! This 1-year-old Heeler mix hails from a reservation in Utah and brings a whole lot of heart in a perfectly compact 30-pound package.TT’s soft, fluffy coat is made for cuddling, and she lives for ear scratches and cozy snuggle sessions. She’s gentle and affectionate with her people, but don’t let that fool you — when it’s time to play, she’s got moves! TT loves a good rough-and-tumble wrestle with her foster dog siblings and will need to be in a home with another playful, active pup who can keep up with her energy and rough play. She’s crate trained, house trained, and working hard on her leash skills — and with how smart and eager she is, she’s catching on fast!If you’re ready for a lovable fluffball who will be your hiking partner by day and cuddle companion by night, TT is ready to join your pack!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. Story
Mocha is a 2 year old retired mama who had a litter of puppies and was found in Stanislaus County, CA tied to a bench with her baby girl, Roxy. Roxy was adopted but Mocha is still looking for her forever family. Mocha is 40lbs, amazing with children, people and most dogs but does have some resource guarding tendencies with other pups. Her ideal home would be with no other pups or a well mannered pup, and with a family to love her and dote on her. Mocha has high drive and loves playing fetch and learning new tricks. One of her favorite activities is going for car rides! She is the perfect errand buddy. Mocha needs a family to love her and take her on adventures, she deserves it after the hard life she's been through!

Story
Korra is a 7 year old Heeler/Border Collie mix that has already had two homes in her life. She lived her first two years of life with a man in the military who dropped her off at the shelter when he was deployed. She lived her past 5 years with a family in Utah who adopted her from the shelter but decided they no longer wanted the responsibility of a dog... despite how low maintenance Korra is! Korra is now with our rescue in SLC, Utah waiting for a truly deserving family to notice her and love her unconditionally. Korra is wonderful with children and humans. A total love bug who enjoys belly rubs and couch cuddles. She is seven years old but absolutely loves adventures like walks in the neighborhood, hikes or car rides. She is such a perfect companion. She has a gentle demeanor and does the cutest little woofs when she wants to play! Korra has never spent time around dogs and has gotten along with some here at the rescue on walks but it is still unclear how she would do living with another pup in the same home. Please reach out only if you can provide Korra with a loving home for the rest of her life. She deserves it!
