Story
Hi, I am Shinzo: an 9.5 yr old, 70 lb male McNab mix. The first word that comes to mind when you see me is regal, being poised in my stature, walk and behavior, but you might catch me playfully hopping with my dog buddies. When we first meet I need a moment to stand back to check you out just to determine if you're friend or foe, but don't worry...I'm a love bug after I've made my decision and see that you are worthy. I get along great with the dogs in my foster house, and I am great with kids. (Sorry, I don't like cats though.) I prefer not to bark (even when others are) as I am too well-mannered, but I have a wonderful deep bark if needed. I already know how to use a doggy door and am completely trained to do my business outside. Unlike some of my herding friends, I'm not hyperactive. I do need room and time to exercise (wait till you see how good I am on a leash!) but I also enjoy a nice nap at your side. I might nudge you with my nose if I feel you're ignoring me, but you'll think it's super cute. Don't fret, this regal boy doesn't require a throne...just a home and family where I can show you what a perfect dog I am to love and to love you.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Story
With floppy ears, Luke, age 3, is an adult cattle dog mix with perpetual puppy cuteness and sweetness. Weighing in at 35 pounds, he likes to spend his days cuddled up in a comfy spot staring out the window and is always up for an outdoor adventure. Truly the best of both worlds! Luke has impeccable indoor manners (crate and house trained) and would spend all day curled up by your side if able (it cannot be stressed enough how much he adores people). He is a very smart and treat motivated pup. Luke is working on his leash skills and not getting overly excited around other dogs and with a proper and slow introduction he does well, but truly thrives in home as the only dog. He would love for his forever family to continue his training to support him in being the best pup he can be. Could that be you? Dogs are not placed on a first- come, first-served basis. Story
Chestnut is a 9-year-old, white, black and brown 29.6 pound eloquent and majestic Queensland Heeler. She is totally house and crate trained, gets along with all the other dogs in her foster home, male and female, big and small. She's not a big barker but when out in the back yard will do an occasional bark with other dogs or people to let them know she is there. Chestnut came to be a CAWS dog because she was found as a stray, no collar, tag or chip. She now has a CAWS chip and will forever be safe and secure. We did blood work and it is perfect, whew. Miss Chestnut will chew on your snow boots or shoes if you leave them lying around, so be sure to put them where they belong and give her toys and chewies of her own to chew on. She will also chew through a leash so need to be sure she is not left unattended. Chestnut knows sit and shake. She takes treats very gently. She likes to ruff up the bed into the middle of the room. She is offered to get up on the couch but she does not want to, prefers the floor or her trampoline bed. Chestnut is a perfect assistant during the work week for her foster mom while she works. She rides wonderfully in the car. Chestnut is her foster mom's shadow in the house. This magnificent lady just needs to find the home she can call her own, which she is so deserving of. Chestnut would probably be okay without another dog but she tends to try to play so preferably a home with another dog. If you are looking for a glorious gal to be an unconditional friend, please make arrangements for a meet and greet. Story
You know those people who you might not notice at first, but who always seem to bring love to every room they enter? Well, that's me. My name is Patch, and I am a heeler mix, which means I'm incredibly smart and very devoted to my pack. I am a little shy, and I think I just need more exposure to new things, and I'd love a patient, devoted human to help me learn about this amazing world. I am well behaved, completely crate and potty trained, and so eager to please! I'll work for food - or love - and snuggles, which might be better for me as I do need to lose a few pounds. (Well, that's what the vet says...I say, who doesn't want more of me to love!) I love praise, and I'm a quiet-natured dog. I live to deliver love, protection and an opportunity for humans to give me belly rubs. I get along with other dogs, but I prefer mellow, independent pups who don't get in my face. I do give really clear signals when I'm uncomfortable, like warning growls when other pups get in my face, my space or try to take my food, but I also take corrections from my humans really well. I'm a very quick learner and I love walks. I'm pretty good on a leash, but I am a herding dog, so sometimes I need my human to remind me to slow down. I would love daily walks, but I'm not a trouble maker if I don't get a walk. I am scared of fireworks, but a weighted blanket and snuggles from my foster mom calm me right down. I can be reluctant to go into homes and buildings at first, but with patience, love and help from my humans, I will cross anything - even new door thresholds - because I trust my people. I am not sure about cats. I sometimes growl at them, and I am curious, but remember, my instincts are to herd, and if I'm honest, cats look like they need to be herded. I'd do best in a home with patient humans who want to help me learn new things and become even more confident. In return, I will make sure my pack never feels lonely again. To meet Patch, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Story
Hi there, I am Abby Rose! I am about 2 years old, and it looks like I have a lot of red heeler in me. I am such a sweet shy girl and am learning to be a part of the family. It takes me a little time to warm up to people and other dogs both big and small. My kennel is my safety zone. I love to be petted or have my belly rubbed. After getting used to you I come up by your chair to get rubs behind my ears or under my chin. I do not do well with loud noises or screaming as it scares me. I will go to my kennel and hide out and be leery to come back out until I feel safe. I am just learning to play with other dogs and toys. If other dogs are too rambunctious that will often scare me too, but I am learning. I am still a puppy and do things puppies do, like get the wrong thing to play with or chew on, so you must redirect me to items that are mine to use. I so want a nice calm family that can work with me to be the best companion that I can be. I know I can do it if given love, training, and support. I am waiting for you!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. Story
Frankie is a 10 month old dog, and is a shepherd and cattle dog mix of some sort. Frankie came to us as a medical rescue off a reservation, with horrible lacerations on one leg. He has now healed up beautifully and is hoping to find his forever home! Since he was a feral dog, he is very timid and lots of things scare him easily. While he is comfortable and does extremely well in his foster home, he will need a family that can be patient helping him learn basic commands, how to walk on a leash, and how to ride in a car. Frankie is one of the sweetest dogs, and loves to cuddle and follow his people around his house. He loves to play with toys, chew on bones, and lounge in a soft doggy bed or on the couch. He does happy dances at meal times, and loves butt scratches. He is house and crate trained. Frankie will ABSOLUTELY need to have a fenced in yard and another dog in the home that he can play with that will help him gain confidence in his new home. Frankie's adoption fee is $200 and he is fully vetted- fixed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and health checked. To be considered, please apply online at caws.org. Thanks! Story
This is Oberon, He is an energetic blue heeler that loves playing and working. We want to find him a new home because we can't give him the care he needs. We got Oberon when he was 7 months old from an amazing family. They told us that they didn’t know everything that had happened but from their understanding he had gone through at least 4 other families before them and the conditions during that time were not great. Oberon came with some anxiety issues, but they were minor so we thought he would do just fine. I introduced him to my girls (1 year old and 4 years old) and he was gentle and playful and awesome with them. We were told that he had anxiety and that he liked females more than males. We noticed this as he is really timid around me. Oberon matches the energy of those around him so my wife being pregnant and his anxiety got way worse and we're worried he won't do well with the new baby. He needs a calm environment where he will be played with and taken on walks regularly.

Living with Buster is like having a comedian for a roommate. He is very loyal to his family, and will be very protective of you and your space. With a big personality and an infinite amount of energy comes some unique challenges. He will require a lot of attention and physical activity.

Story
**Currently fostered in Abbotsford, BC, and available for adoption across Canada, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, and Washington!** 🐾 Meet Oreo! 🐾 Oreo is an energetic and sociable pup who's just as friendly as he is playful. He thrives on interaction, whether it's with people or other animals, making him the perfect companion for a full-of-life household. As a true "Velcro dog," he loves being indoors close to his family, and he would be delighted to share his home with another dog or even a cat. Oreo's intelligence shines through in everything he does. He's excellent on a leash, responsive to recall commands, and highly motivated by food, making his training sessions fun and productive. Despite his enthusiasm, he has a submissive and gentle nature with people and other dogs. He is often found lying on his back, eagerly waiting for belly rubs. Playtime is Oreo's favorite time! He loves playing fetch and tug-of-war, and he even learned how to swim this summer, retrieving toys from deep water. He's ready to join you on all your aquatic adventures when the weather warms up. Oreo knows various commands, both verbal and hand signals, and he's generally good with recall—though he can get distracted when other fun playmates are around. Living harmoniously with a cat, he shows no prey drive, though he's always up for a playful chase. When it comes to toys, only the sturdiest will do for this active boy. He also enjoys puzzle toys, Kongs, and other enrichment activities to keep his sharp mind engaged. Comfortable in his crate, Oreo shows no separation anxiety, though he appreciates having company at home for part of the day. Given his love for running and playing, a home with a fenced yard would be ideal for Oreo, providing him space to expend energy. He manages some skin allergies with a special diet of fish-based kibble and treats, and he's even got a taste for human snacks like raw veggies and coconut whipped cream. Remember that Oreo is quite a fashionista! He enjoys sporting bandanas and wears coats to keep cozy during rainy or cold weather. If you're looking for a loving, playful, and intelligent companion ready to add joy and adventure to your life, Oreo is your perfect match! Meet him, and let the fun begin! 🐾❤️ Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6570c78c0e1bab335b044a70 Please email jacquelynn@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! This stunning guy is Misio, pronounced 'Misho' which is Polish for Teddy Bear. Misio is a 7.5 year old Australian Shepherd who is currently on a diet to get to his ideal weight of about 37 pounds. Misio is looking for a patient and mature household to live the rest of his years. He is working through some trust issues and is learning to let his guard down. But once he knows you are safe, he will be yours forever. Misio likes to be near people but isnt overly cuddly, he is content to be in his own space near you. He'd do best in a home with adults only and no other animals. Misio is still very active and he would love to be your hiking, camping, or running companion! He is very outgoing and loves to chase a ball around the yard. He is also very smart and picks up on training quickly. Misio needs a forever home that can provide him with mental stimulation and a physical outlet. He can be chill in the house, but is also not a couch potato. He is house trained and crate trained and walks well on leash. With a little bit of training, a dash of patience, and a person who will be active with him, Misio will be an amazing companion for years to come! Dogs are not placed on a first- come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. Hi! My name is Cisco (short for Francisco) and I am a Aussie x red heeler mix pup. As far as herding puppies go, I'm pretty laid back. But, I'm definitely no couch potato! I love to play and wrestle with my foster brothers. And, I am really good at taking cues from them, when my puppy antics have become a little too much. My foster mom describes me as smart, athletic, fun and supper cuddly. I'm a social butterfly. I love to meet and play with the neighborhood kids that come to visit me and my brother. I would do well in a home with other dogs and older, dog-savvy kids. I have never met cats; but, because of my herding dog heritage, I would probably want to chase them. My ideal home would be one with a fenced yard to keep me safe while I play and an active family who will take me on long walks and hikes or other outdoor adventures on the weekends. I am crate-trained, about 95% house-broken and up-to-date on my vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact kathie@herdinghaven.org

HI! My name is Sofia and I am 2-3 yr old female Aussie mix. I have had a bit of a "ruff" start in life-- 3 homes in less than 3 years all due to no fault of my own. My previous owners just couldn't commit to me and have truly failed me. I am a little shy when I first meet you, but I warm up quickly and then am the typical Aussie velcro dog. Where you go, I will follow! I am very sweet and have a moderate energy level-- a daily walk and lots of snuggles on the couch is all I need to live my best life! Children make me very nervous, so a home without kids s a must for me. I can be a little selective when it comes to my doggy friends. I don't like dogs that come on too strong or get in my face. Older, more mellow dogs are OK. I am not a fan of cats, so a furever home that is feline free is a must. I am house-broken, crate-trained, spayed and up-to-date on my vaccinations.
