Story
Korra is a 7 year old Heeler/Border Collie mix that has already had two homes in her life. She lived her first two years of life with a man in the military who dropped her off at the shelter when he was deployed. She lived her past 5 years with a family in Utah who adopted her from the shelter but decided they no longer wanted the responsibility of a dog... despite how low maintenance Korra is! Korra is now with our rescue in SLC, Utah waiting for a truly deserving family to notice her and love her unconditionally. Korra is wonderful with children and humans. A total love bug who enjoys belly rubs and couch cuddles. She is seven years old but absolutely loves adventures like walks in the neighborhood, hikes or car rides. She is such a perfect companion. She has a gentle demeanor and does the cutest little woofs when she wants to play! Korra has never spent time around dogs and has gotten along with some here at the rescue on walks but it is still unclear how she would do living with another pup in the same home. Please reach out only if you can provide Korra with a loving home for the rest of her life. She deserves it!

Story
Jasper is proof that age is just a number! This handsome 10-year-old Cattle Dog mix still has plenty of pep in his step and is always ready for his next adventure. Whether it's a walk around the neighborhood, a hike on the trails, a game with his dog friends, or a cozy evening on the couch, Jasper is happy as long as he's spending time with the people he loves. One of Jasper's favorite things in the world is other dogs. He absolutely lights up around canine companions and especially enjoys playful, energetic dogs who are ready to romp. He has also lived successfully with cats and does well sharing his home with feline friends. While he adores adults and warms up quickly to new people, Jasper would do best in a home without young children, as he can become uncomfortable when kids get in his space. Respectful older children would likely be a much better fit. Jasper is house trained, crate trained, rides perfectly in the car, and has wonderful manners around the house. He knows basic commands, is treat motivated, and enjoys learning new things. On leash, he may start out a little enthusiastic, but quickly settles into a pleasant walking companion. After recently losing the dog companion he had shared life with for eight years, Jasper has shown remarkable resilience. He has rediscovered his playful spirit, formed new friendships, and continues to embrace life with enthusiasm and joy. His foster family describes him as the perfect balance of active and relaxed—happy to play hard when it's time for fun, but equally content to curl up beside you for a quiet evening.Jasper would thrive in a home that offers both adventure and downtime. He could happily live as an only dog, but he'd also love a canine playmate. He does have some food resource guarding with other dogs, which is easily managed by feeding separately. If you're looking for a loyal companion who still has plenty of life, love, and adventure left to share, Jasper is ready to be your best friend. This sweet, affectionate boy is proof that some of the very best dogs come with a little gray around the muzzle. All CAWS pets are fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $100. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis—we focus on finding the perfect match for each animal. Rocky is the most cuddly Cattle Dog this side of the Rockies! He closes his eyes and melts when you pet him. Belly rubs, ear scratchies, neck pets… he is so grateful for any love you can give him. Rocky loves to roll around in the grass and lay in the grass next to you. A squeaky toy is a great way to get his attention. He loves a game of tug or fetch. He takes treats very gently. Meet Clarissa Female DOB: March 29, 2026 Weight: 5 lbs (current — still growing)** Expected Size: Small to Medium when fully grown Breed: Cattle Dog  Spayed (Fixed): Pending (age-appropriate) Vaccines: Pending (age-appropriate) Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Clarissa is an adorable little puppy with a sweet personality, playful curiosity, and affectionate nature. At this young age, she is still discovering the world around her and enjoys cuddles, toys, companionship, playtime, and exploring new experiences with excitement and curiosity. She has a loving puppy spirit and enjoys being close to her people while also showing the playful energy and curiosity puppies are known for. Clarissa is still very young and growing, making this an especially important stage for positive socialization, structure, confidence-building, and healthy development. As a growing Cattledog mix puppy, Clarissa will likely mature into an intelligent, engaging companion with lots of personality and strong bonds with her family. Terrier mixes are often known for being affectionate, clever, energetic dogs who thrive with interaction, companionship, and enrichment. Clarissa is expected to stay in the small-to-medium size range as an adult. Clarissa would thrive in a home prepared for: Ongoing puppy training and supervision Daily exercise, playtime, and enrichment Structure, consistency, and routine Positive socialization and engagement A lifelong commitment to her emotional and physical well-being Puppies are adorable, but they are also a major responsibility requiring patience, supervision, training, and long-term commitment throughout every stage of life. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue puppies come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Even very young puppies require significant guidance and supervision to properly learn how to navigate life in a home environment. Puppies are not automatically trained simply because they are young. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, basic structure, and socialization, adopters should expect to continue all training and development after adoption. Adopting a puppy means being prepared for: Potty training and accidents Teething and chewing phases Crate training and leash training Nighttime wakeups and supervision Jumping, barking, and playful puppy behavior Ongoing socialization and confidence-building Daily exercise, enrichment, and structure Routine veterinary visits and vaccine boosters Financial commitment throughout the dog’s lifetime Because Clarissa is still very young and small, extra care should also be taken around: Larger animals Rough play Stairs and jumping Unsafe chewing hazards Open doors or unsecured outdoor spaces Clarissa will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Mental stimulation and enrichment Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, puppies like Clarissa grow into wonderful lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes training, exercise, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Clarissa will need: Ongoing puppy training and guidance Routine veterinary visits and vaccine boosters Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and growth monitoring Daily exercise, enrichment, and companionship A safe, stable, indoor living environment Puppies require regular veterinary care throughout their first year, including booster vaccines, wellness exams, and spay surgery when age-appropriate. Because Clarissa is still very young, adopters should also be prepared for the normal puppy phases that come with growing and learning, including chewing, teething, accidents, testing boundaries, and continued social development. Clarissa is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting this wonderful puppy, please complete an adoption application by visiting: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles–based rescue dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at a loving home. Our team carefully reviews every application and will reach out to help match you with the right dog for your home and lifestyle. You may be seeing our dogs listed in multiple states because we work hard to give as many of our rescue dogs as possible the opportunity to be seen by loving families beyond our local area. While we are based in Los Angeles, we expand our reach throughout the Western United States and the Midwest to help more dogs find the forever homes they deserve. We understand that transportation and adoption fees can sometimes feel like a big commitment, and we truly appreciate every person who considers opening their heart and home to a rescue dog. Our goal is simply to give these dogs the best chance at being seen, adopted, and loved. Ozzie and Friends Rescue coordinates safe and reliable transport so adopted dogs can travel to their new homes across the Western United States, Canada, and the Midwest. Story
Meet Benny! Looking for a brilliant best friend? This adorable Border Collie/Aussie mix is as smart as he is sweet! Weighing in at about 30 lbs, Benny is a focused learner who is already crate-trained, house-trained, and rides well in the car. He has mastered sit and shake, and is nearly there with the 'stay' command, showing just how much he enjoys having a job to do. Benny thrives on mental stimulation, loves a game of fetch, and gets along well with other dogs. He is at his most relaxed while playing in a fenced backyard, where he is comfortable and unfazed by outside noises. While he is an affectionate companion who loves to follow his person everywhere, he is also a sensitive dog currently working with trainers to overcome a fear of moving vehicles and bicycles. Because he bonds so deeply, he needs a savvy owner who can provide the structure and positive reinforcement he needs to feel secure when others approach. In fact, if you're a bit of a homebody who prefers the company of a loyal dog over a crowd of people, you and Benny might be the perfect match! Benny is doing well with his muzzle training and consistent management, and he is working hard to be the best version of himself. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can run and play. His adoption includes two free training sessions with Clementine Dog Training to help set up a strong foundation. If you are looking for a smart, loyal companion and have the heart to help a sensitive dog shine, Benny is your boy! Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. His adoption fee is $200. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Meet Misio — Your Sweet, Goofy Teddy Bear! ❤️Misio is a cuddly, medium-energy Australian Shepherd (35–37 lbs) who loves people, long walks, sniffing adventures, and relaxing near his humans. He warms up instantly and enjoys respectful kids. His crossed-paw lounging pose and little tuft of hair by his eye make him extra charming.Misio is house-trained, crate-trained, and well-mannered in the home—though he’ll counter-surf if food is within reach. He knows basic commands and is very food-motivated. He walks best on a long leash and settles nicely after the initial excitement. He rides well in a crate. He should be an only pet. He can pass some dogs politely but is unpredictable with others and doesn’t like sharing toys. No cats. He’s fine around livestock when supervised. He loves kids but will react if handled roughly, so he needs a home with respectful boundaries.Misio is healthy, takes a few supplements, and is at a great weight after losing 16 lbs. He still prefers gentle handling around his collar and during grooming, but he has made wonderful progress.A fenced yard and positive-reinforcement family would be ideal. Misio is affectionate, goofy, loyal, and ready for a home that appreciates both his adventurous side and his snuggly one.Dogs are not placed on a first- come, first-served basis. Story
Kiera is a fun-loving almost 1-year-old Shepherd mix weighing in at about 35 pounds. This playful girl is full of energy and absolutely loves spending time with other dogs and playing with her toys. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly and soon shows off her sweet and goofy personality.Kiera is house trained and crate trained, though she’d much rather be out with her people if she knows the fun is happening nearby. Like most young pups, she’s still learning her manners, but she’s doing very well and is eager to keep learning. She’s treat-motivated, rides great in the car, and would thrive with a family willing to continue her training and help her build confidence. She has a moderate energy level and would love a home that can provide daily walks, playtime, and adventures. One of Kiera’s favorite things in the world is playing with other dogs, so she would especially enjoy having a canine companion in her new home.Kiera does great with children and has an affectionate, playful nature that makes her a wonderful family dog. Her experience with cats is currently unknown. She would do best with an active family that wants a loyal adventure buddy and is excited to invest time into helping a young dog continue to grow into an amazing companion.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200.
