Story
Juniper here became a fast favorite when he arrived on the scene. His demeanor and size make it almost impossible to not fawn and fall quickly head over heels. You have seen his picture so you know, he is a petite, cattle-dog looking boy with sparkles in his eyes. He is friendly, attentive, playful, and absolutely adoring. And when I say petite, I mean a cute 40 lbs. We estimate he is about 8-10 months old so he may grow a touch more but we anticipate he will stay in this mid-medium size. Despite being essentially a puppy, Juniper displays some wonderfully mature qualities. He is great with other dogs, easily shares treats and toys, and has great basic on-leash manners. Juniper is fortunate and is being fostered in a loving home while he waits for his forever family. This gives him a wonderful head-start at being a well-mannered house dog. His foster family has nothing but praise for him, describing him as an easy house guest who seamlessly transitioned into their home and the routine of their other three dogs seamlessly. They have shared that he is a beautiful combination of loving and cuddly while being able to play wit the other dogs or entertain himself with a chewy or stuffie. Plus, he has taken to both house-trained and crate-training easily They summed it up by saying he is “the perfect companion!” We have introduced Juniper to new dogs to gauge his interest, comfort and playfulness with other dogs. He has shown us he is playful and friendly to dogs but prefers smaller playgroups. It seems about 4-5 dogs is his preferred group size. More than that and he will take himself out of the play and check-in with the people around him or just go for a little sniff around the yard. As for ideal home, Juniper is a great size for either house with a yard or apartment living. Whether it is a house or apartment, daily walks, mental stimulation, and socializing will be an important part of ensuring Juniper continues growing into his best self. While on your daily walks and potty breaks, be prepared to make some well-meaning small talk about your adorable, well-behaved and calm rescue dog. People seem to gravitate towards his charm and good looks and he welcomes it! He is friendly to everyone and greets with such warm affection it is easy to feel like you are part of a duo of joy-bringers when you’re together. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! My name is Mandrill M (they call me Maddie). I would really like to find my forever home for the holidays. Let me tell you about myself. I am about six months old and the best guess on my breed is heeler/hound mix, definitely some hound in there as I like to use  my nose and you will notice the floppy ears and I am sure you noticed my stunning eyes. My best part of the day is playing with my foster sister and watching her so I can learn. She is a good teacher. I am potty trained and I spend my nights in a little area made just for me where I feel safe. My foster Mom always gives me treats before bed to make sure I know it is a good place. I have learned some basic commands like sit and I know go potty! That’s when it’s cold outside and Mom is in a hurry. I am just starting to learn fetch and I am working really hard on off as I really love to hug and it’s hard for me not to want to jump up to hug you. I am a good traveler in the car so it’s easy to take me with you. I live with 2 cats but I do like to taunt them so only cats that are smart about dogs would be best. I get along great with all size of dogs as long as they are nice to me. Oh and I should not forget to tell you that I am great on a leash. The hardest thing for me is meeting new people. I am very timid so I really need someone who is patient and willing to let me get familiar with you before you expect those hugs but once I am comfortable get ready because I will want lots of loves and reassurance. I am eager to learn and adventures would help me to build confidence and help me to bond with you. I will get very attached to you because I will be looking to you for reassurance to know I am safe. I am so excited to find my new home and become part of a family. If you think you could love me for a life time please apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 8, 2024, 4:58 pm
