Story

Kristi is a Australian Shepherd Mix. Her estimated date of birth is 8/20/2015 and she weighs 40 lbs. She is up to date on all of her shots and she is fixed. Kristi is OK with people that she knows but is not good with new people. She is better suited for a home that has no cats, no kids or other dogs or small animals.  Kristi does like to vocalize and would be best in a house as she needs a lot of space to run around. Kristi is not good alone and does need someone she can trust to be her side most of the time. Kristi requires a very special diet and does not tolerate prepackaged dog food well. She has some minor skin issues that do require weekly medication.  She has a very high energy level and would require exercise on a daily basis for at least 1 hour otherwise she has the tendency to be destructive to items.  Kristi does have some issues on a a leash and has a small problem with marking in homes.We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently. Appointments can be set up to meet any dog in San Diego. Currently we are unable to do any out-of-state adoptions. Backpack is a spunky, loving, happy 9 1/2 week old male aussie/shepherd mix puppy.  Backpack weighs approx 10 pounds of love and sweetness and he loves to play. He is enjoying playing with his fosters other dog and they love running and chasing after toys and balls.  He’s extremely smart, and learns his routine very quickly.  He would be a perfect fit for an active family and would love a yard if his own to run and play in.  He’s all puppy and ready for his next adventure!!! Backpack is also great with kids and loves everyone he meets!!! He’s great with other dogs, and just such a mild mannered boy. He is housetrained, and loves to go for his walks & very into snuggles with his foster mom.  This sweet boy was so close to being put to sleep at the Lancaster shelter. We are beyond grateful to the independent rescuers who encouraged people to go rescue him. This world would’ve been a sad place without Walter in it. Once you meet him, you’ll see that is not an exaggeration. This boy is a phenomenal dog and will make someone a great family member and best friend.
