Story
Bowser found himself at the shelter because his family had a human baby, and no longer had the time to care for him. He is a sweet, playful boy who is a little confused on why he ended up here. Bowser is a great walker, and just absolutely loves playing fetch. He is a very smart boy and already knows a few commands like sit, down, and stay. He seems to be some sort of herding mix, maybe Aussie/Shepherd?? Bowser will need a dog savvy home who will give him the exercise and structure that he needs to be successful! We don't think he would be appropriate with young kids. Right now he would need to go home with kids 16 years or older, but would most likely do best in an adult only home. Bowser is a very sweet boy, he loves to cuddle up next to you and get belly rubs. He is dog friendly, and would probably do very well with another playful pup in the home! March 7, 2026, 9:20 pm

Story
Otis is a sweet and loving pure bred mini Australian shepherd who is around 7 years old. He loves to play fetch and is a high energy, fun dog. He is slightly anxious around new people but tends to warm up quickly to adults. The reason we are hoping to find a new home for him is due to his difficulty with children. We have two toddlers and another baby on the way and we have had several incidents where he has nipped at their faces. We have attempted to train him or separate him from them but it is not working. Our hope is to find him a home with a loving family or person with out children who has a yard for him or is able to walk him daily. He is potty trained and does well being inside. If you are interested please let us know.

We are opening the application process for ANDY!!! He is a 9 pound 100% miniature Australian Shepherd. Andy was found running scared as a stray in a desolate desert area, and taken to an overcrowded, extremely high kill shelter! Andy is believed to be 2-3 years old, weighs only 9 pounds, super sweet, dog and cat friendly, potty trained. Though Andy is kid friendly, he prefers older kids. The VERY first step is completing an application on-line. Please contact AnimalsRule (info@animalsrule.org), 310-704-7723 for more information about this pet.   Read Nelson's biography below to learn what he needs in a home placement and how to apply.  Name: NelsonAge: DOB: 02/19/2019Sex: male, neuteredBreed: Husky, Aussie, Cattle Dog mix per his DNA resultsWeight: 74 lbsHousebroken: yes & crate trainedKids: teens and olderOther dogs: ok with other dogs, currently lives with a female HuskyCats: no catsHousing: We are looking to put him in a house with backyard space.Personality & what we know: Nelson has a full story to share, and we want to ensure his next move is his forever move. If you have a calm home and a heart ready for a loyal companion, please apply. Nelson is a good dog who simply finds a busy or high-energy environment stressful. Because he is a sensitive soul, he is seeking a tranquil, adult-only home (or one with older teens) where life is calm and the routine is steady. He is healthy, neutered, and current on all his vaccines. While he would be thrilled to be your one-and-only, he also does well with other female dogs. His Ideal Match:Nelson needs a family that is experienced with 'dog body language' and can provide him with a low-stress environment. He is a loving boy, but he thrives when his personal space is respected and his surroundings are peaceful. In a quiet home without the sudden movements of small children, Nelson’s best side really shines. For 6 years, Nelson lived with his family, and then they had a baby and Nelson is not adapting well to the baby now that it is a toddler.  Medical:  healthy. He's been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. How to apply: please visit OUR website at www.animalsrule.org and fill out our online application of interest  To see more pictures and video of Nelson, please check out and follow our Facebook and Instagram pages Nelson can be seen by appointment only, with an approved application. Story
Meet Sangria , the sweetest boy with a heart full of love and eyes full of soul. Sangria’s story began in May 2024, when we rescued his mom and six newborn siblings just days after they were born. At 8 weeks old, Sangria was adopted, and we were so excited for his future. Sadly, that joy turned to heartbreak in June 2025 when he was returned to us after experiencing four seizures, none of which were treated by his adopters. Despite our hopes, he had been medically neglected. Back in our care, Sangria finally received the veterinary attention he deserved. He was diagnosed with epilepsy and started on medication right away. True to his resilient spirit, Sangria hasn’t let his diagnosis dim his light. He’s a happy-go-lucky, playful boy who charms everyone he meets, people and dogs alike. Sangria is cuddly, curious, fun-loving, and incredibly affectionate. He also lives peacefully with two cats, proving he’s an all-around good boy. Sangria will thrive in a home with adopters who are committed to his ongoing health and willing to continue working with his neurologist to manage his seizures. He’d love a playful dog sibling but would also do great as a solo pup, as long as he has plenty of social time with other dogs. If Sangria sounds like the perfect match for your family, please complete an adoption application. He’s ready to bring love, laughter, and lots of tail wags into your life.‍ Questions can be emailed to Danelle@roversretreat.org Sangria's adoption fee is $600
