Story
Ace is fostered in Moberly, MO area.  Meet Ace—your little shadow and future couch-cuddle companion!  Ace is estimated to be 2–3 years old and weighs about 26 lbs.  Ace was a stray at a shelter prior to coming into rescue.  This gorgeous, smaller black tri loves being close to his people. His serious expression may look like he’s judging your choices, but underneath that thoughtful face is a cuddle bug who’s happiest snuggled in your lap. Personal space? Ace would much rather share yours! Ace is housebroken and crate trained, and is working on his manners. He knows “sit,” although holding it takes a little patience, and he’s also practicing “place” as he learns to share the spotlight. He would do best as an only dog or with another submissive dog who is comfortable letting him have plenty of attention. Ace needs a cat-free home, and a home with children over 10 years of age is recommended. Ace is dog friendly and currently shares his foster home with another mini Aussie and a 13-pound dog. Slow introductions to new dogs are a must to help him settle in with new canine companions.  Ace also does very well on car rides—a great little travel companion! Ace has a playful side: he enjoys walks, zoomies, and taking stuffed toys apart! For now, though, those energetic activities are on pause. He recently received his heartworm injections and is still on activity restrictions. His home will need to follow the rescue’s and veterinarian’s instructions while he recovers. He’s interested in balls, but his foster hasn’t yet had a chance to find out whether fetch is his game. In the meantime, there’s plenty to love about quiet time with this close-by companion! If you’re looking for a devoted little buddy who wants to be part of your everyday life, Ace could be your match. A cozy lap and someone ready to support his recovery would make a wonderful next chapter for this handsome boy! Story
Bentley is fostered in Pleasonton, KS. Meet Bentley.  Bentley was surrendered to us when his owner had some medical issues and was unable to continue caring for him.  Bentley came in a little under-socialized and slightly overweight but he has come A LONG WAY! Bentley's date of birth is 9/6/2022, he is a male neutered Australian Shepherd mix who weighs 50 lbs. Bentley is silly, funny, and a bit of a goofball!  His true personality started showing up and it makes him SO adorable!  We think Bentley needs a forever home with another dog, a fenced yard and someone who will meet him where he is in his socialization, be patient with him so he can settle in and build a bond/trust with them.  Once that trust is built, watch out! He will be his goofy silly self! Bentley loves it when his foster mom asks him questions, he does this cute head tilt and cocks his ears up like he is listening to every word she says!  He is SO smart! In his prior home before coming to rescue, Bentley spent great deal of time in his crate.  For this reason, he did not receive proper socialization. Socialization is something his foster home has diligently been working on with him.  She has been desensitizing him to many things, including leash walking, grooming, other dogs and other people.  Bentley previously experienced some fears in some area, but he really has put in a lot of work and he is making wonderful progress in all areas. Bentley is in a foster home with 4 legged canine fur siblings of various ages and sizes, and does well with them.  We are unsure about cats.   Bentley is more of a low-key guy who is looking for an adopter who enjoys the same type of lifestyle. He prefers a home where there are less comings and goings.  We also recommend a physically fenced yard and a home that is both patient and has no children under age 12, and a canine companion. would be ideal for this guy. Bentley is a talker. The more you talk to him, the more he expresses his feelings.  Bentley is what we term a "work in progress", but he is the type of dog that will quickly become your best friend once trust is gained between you.  Bentley needs a hero and a new best friend.  Is that you? Story
Mongo is fostered in Omaha, NE. Mongo is a black tri male Australian Shepherd.  He is estimated to be about 8-9 months old and weighs just under 40 lbs.  Mongo was found as a stray, so not a lot is known about his past. But clearly he has a need for the soft and comfortable things in life. If you are looking for a snuggle buddy this winter, then stop your search now!!  Mongo is an expert level cuddler and would love to help you pick out your next throw pillow set. (This boy loves, and I mean LOVES, pillows.)  He’s amazing in the car and walks fairly well on a leash, although he is still a puppy and pulls occasionally. Mongo is potty trained and sleeps perfect in a crate all night. (Make sure he has comfort hook up!!) This boy loves toys almost as much as a pillow, but he is very gentle with them. Besides some light chewing, he hasn’t actually destroyed one! While currently living with cats in his foster home, he hasn’t quite figured out what makes them tick. Slow, meaningful intros will be crucial to success in a forever home with a kitty friend. He isn’t mean to them, he just doesn’t understand their cues and gets a little too excited. When it comes to other pups, he says the more the merrier! He loves to play and chase and tug! He currently lives with dogs ranging from 10 lbs to 115 lbs and does well with all sizes. We have seen no evidence of guarding, although he does like to steal toys when playing. Mongo comes with a home requirement of 25 pillows for him to steal. Could this be your buddy?! ##2872562##

Emmy Lou is fostered in Grayslake, IL This gorgeous girl is one of three Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mixees we took from a hoarding situation in Ladysmith, WI.  Emmy Lou has done an amazing job of coming out of her shell!  Emmy Lou is a black tri with a tail, is on the smaller side and estimated to be about a year old, weighing about 25 lbs.  Emmy Lou is a velcro girl through and through.  Emm Loui is ready to find her humans that she will forever shadow!  Emmy Loui is shy and skittish around new people, but she's got a sassy side too!  She takes some time to warm up to new people. She would do best with another confident dog in the house.  It is also recommended that she have a physically fenced yard.   Because of her background, she is still unsure how to play with other dogs.  She is not food driven or really knows what toys are for, but she's curious about her surroundings and likes to explore.  Her favorite thing is curling up with a human on the couch. Because of this, routine and consistency will be critical for her success in a new home.  We also think someone that will engage her brain and maybe take some classes with her to boost her confidence would help that shy shell crack even more.   Emmy Lou's house manners are good and she's getting very good at walking on a leash!  Emmy Lou is house trained and crate trained. She would do best on a constistent schedule.  She also has done fine with car rides and grooming needs at home.   Emmy Lou's need: confident resident dog to take cues from, fenced in yard, patient and loving adopter willing to put some time into helping her be the best girl she can be.   Emmy Lou is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations, negative for heartworm and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Fen is fostered in Centerton, Arkansas. Meet Fen! Your new best friend is waiting!  Fen is a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd with a heart just as big as his personality! This sweet boy is the perfect mix of playful, goofy, and cuddly, and he’s ready to find a family to call his own! Fen LOVES other dogs and would absolutely thrive in a home with canine friends to play with! He’s still figuring out the whole playing thing, but that doesn’t stop him from bouncing around, joining in on the fun, and making himself part of the action. He especially loves playing ball and is happy to share the fun and take turns with his doggy friends! When he’s not busy being a silly boy, Fen is a total sweetheart who loves attention and cuddles. He also has a nice independent side and is perfectly content spending time on his own. He’s crate-trained, potty-trained, and has done wonderfully hanging out in his foster room without tearing anything up! Fen is a smart boy, too! He already knows sit, shake, and down and is ready to keep learning. He enjoys going on walks but is just as happy zooming around the yard. And when he’s outside? Get ready for his signature move: jumping straight up in the air while letting out the happiest little “woo!” to show the world just how excited he is. It’s impossible not to smile watching him! A few more things to love about Fen:  He’s gentle with his small, 12-pound foster dog sibling. Based on his gentle nature with his small foster sibling, he may do well with cats with proper introductions. He does well in the car.  He’s great about being brushed. He loves playing ball and sharing the fun with other dogs. He’s equally happy going on adventures or snuggling up with his people. Fen has so much love to give and would make an amazing addition to a family looking for a sweet, playful companion. A home with other friendly dogs would be a dream come true for this boy, but most of all, he just needs someone who will love him for the wonderful dog he is. Ruby is being fostered in Lansing, IL Meet Ruby!  Ruby is a stunning blue merle female Australian Shepehrd with a big beautiful tail and a fluffy coat to match her beauty. She was born 11/1/2024 and currently weighs 33 lbs. Ruby returned to rescue to find a suitable foster home that is equipped to match her personality.   Ruby would LOVE to be the one and only in her home.  While she exists in homes with other dogs, she is a bit of a "bossy aussie" and she has a bit of prey drive for smaller creatures (i.e. no cats, no small dogs). Ruby thrives with one-on-one attention and has some very nice obedience training behind her, but she will require an aussie savvy adopter who has skills and is willing to continue her training and not allow her to become "the boss" of the house, meaning she will need a strong leader in her home, or she will lead, and sometimes an Aussie left to their own devices can make poor choices.  Ruby is crate trained and house trained. Ruby is a master at leash walking.  She does well with grooming and she also has wonderful house manners. She will need someone committed to socialization and would make an excellent candidate for someone wanting to run, bike or do dog sports (agility, flyball, herding practice, dock diving, etc).   Ruby is highly food and praise motivated. A fenced-in yard would be ideal. We do recommend a home with children over 10 years of age. She does play with toys, including stuffies, fetch and tug.  If you’re ready to give Ruby the home she deserves, she’ll reward you with a lifetime of loyalty and love.
