Please welcome this sweet girl to SAAP! Like many of the pups that we rescue, Pippy has been through a lot!! Pippy came to SAAP with her eight - one week old babies. Shortly after her arrival, we discovered she had coccidia, Giardia, worms AND parvo. This meant that she had to go for treatment and stay at the vet’s office while we tried to bottle feed the puppies. Sadly, all the pups passed away as they had been exposed to parvo as well. Pippy managed to survive the parvo - only to find out that she was also heartworm positive. So, she began treatment for that too which requires 30 days of crate rest to keep the heart rate down. After everything she has been through, Pippy is now healthy and ready to find her very deserving furever home!! Approximately 50 pounds potty trained Very gentle and submissive LOVES attention Pippy is not dog aggressive but she seems nervous and scared when other dogs get close to her. Our 8-year-old Australian Shepherd is a loyal, affectionate dog who loves being with her people. She would happily follow you from room to room all day and prefers being indoors with her family rather than outside alone. She is crate trained but would rather be with her people when they are home. She has been around children, including our 7-year-old, and has always been patient and tolerant. She will bark at strangers but has never been aggressive toward visitors. She would do best with a traditional fenced yard, as she does not enjoy an invisible fence. She is not aware of her size and can accidentally bump into people, so we do not recommend a home with frail or elderly individuals. She **must be the only pet** due to aggression toward other dogs and cats. We are looking for an experienced owner who wants a devoted companion and can give her the attention she loves.

Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $300 (in TX)
