Meet OZZIE, big fun packed into a small package. Ozzie is a 1 yr old Australian Shepherd/Poodle mix boy, fully grown at just 20 lbs. With the heart, stamina and big boy bark of an Aussie and the size and stunning coat of a poodle, Ozzie is a pint-sized herding dog! His soft blue merle coat is a groomer's dream. Ozzie is a proud graduate of Best Pet K9 Obedience Training. He needs a home with a physically-fenced yard and at least one playful dog buddy. He is dog and cat friendly, house broken and crate trained. Ozzie is best suited to an adults-only home (teens are fine). Ozzie is an exuberant little loverboy. He can be mouthy. He'll kiss your face and quickly grab your hair! Watch out - he's fast! When this active boy finally rests... let him rest. If you've never had the pleasure of sharing your home with a herding breed dog, please do some research on the intelligent, active Australian Shepherd breed before applying to adopt Ozzie. He's not just a "doodle", he's an Aussie. If you would like to meet Ozzie, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Ozzie at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-3 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period.
