Story
Meet Lil! Lil is a sweet and shy 3 year old Mini Aussie looking for her forever home after overcoming a difficult start to life in a puppy mill. Despite her past, she is house-trained and will use pee pads as she adjusts to new surroundings. Initially timid, Lil warms up to become a devoted cuddler once she feels safe. She thrives with the presence of a confident dog who can help her feel secure. While she tolerates men, she is much more comfortable around women and may take extra time to trust. Lil is also fearful of leashes and harnesses, so she will need a patient owner to gently introduce her to these items. Lil’s ideal home includes a securely fenced yard for her safety and exercise. She would do best with older children who understand her fears and can respect her need for space. Her new family should be patient, understanding, and willing to give her the time she needs to blossom into the loving companion she’s meant to be. Currently, Lil is on daily Prozac to help manage her anxiety, and her future family should be prepared to continue supporting her emotional well-being. If you’re ready to provide Lil with the love, patience, and safe environment she deserves, she could become a loyal and loving member of your family. Come meet Lil today and see the sweet companion she’s ready to be! Lil is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Bear! Bear is a big-hearted 5 year old, 60lb, Australian Shepherd mix who truly lives up to his name—he is the ultimate snuggle king and a total love bug! His superpowers include being an absolute scholar (he is highly trainable and loves learning new tricks!), having great recall when called, and being a dream in the house. He is both potty trained and crate trained; once he’s in his crate, he doesn’t say a peep! He is also a fantastic travel companion who is great in the car. Bear is still working on his leash training, but in true "smart dog" fashion, he is picking it up incredibly quickly! Because he is a medium-energy guy who loves a vigorous game of tug and can get a little rowdy when he’s having fun, we recommend a home with older children who can keep up with his play style. Some of his favorite things are watching TV (he gets especially excited when he sees other dogs on the screen!), treats of any kind, and finding the perfect spot to snuggle with his favorite humans. If you’re looking for a smart, sweet, and motivated companion who will balance playtime with professional-level snuggling, Bear might be your perfect match. Bear is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $275.00. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌾🐾 Meet Emma — Your New Ranch Manager (and Couch Companion) 🐾🌾 Hi, I’m Emma 💛 3 years old and I clock in around 70 lbs, but I swear I’m a medium… I just have a big heart (and maybe a little extra fluff) 😉💛 I come with a very impressive résumé. I was raised on a ranch, so I already know how to: - Round things up (goats, cows… possibly your kids😊 ) - Supervise all outdoor activities - Keep a watchful eye on… well, everything - Keep cool when the sun's hot Basically, if there’s a job to do, I’ve already taken care of it... You’re welcome! But don’t let my strong work ethic fool you—I’ve got a soft side too. Once the “workday” is over, I’m all about hanging out with my people, soaking up love, and relaxing nearby like the loyal little shadow I am. I’ve got great manners (yes, I’m house trained 💁‍♀️), walk nicely on a leash, and I get along with dogs, kids, and even cats. I like to think of myself as a well-rounded professional. My dream home? Somewhere I can stretch my legs, have a little purpose (even if it’s just “Backyard Supervisor”), and be part of the family. I’m smart, devoted, and always aiming to do the right thing. Oh—and fair warning… you may never take the trash out or check the yard alone again. I will be assisting. I’ve waited a long time for my forever home, but I know it’s out there. And when I find my people? I’m all in. Apply today at haydudeequine.org if you're ready for the bestest girl just about any family could ask for? 🐾💛

Story
Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)
