Story
Milo is a 6-month-old, 25 lb, male, Mini Aussie. He is a very sweet boy that loves scratches and giving kisses. He is a puppy mill survivor and that is exactly what he is doing and showing me everyday he is thankful. He is the perfect addition to an active home. He would do best with another dog to continue to teach him. Personal dogs have taught him to go up/down stairs, relax in a comfy bed, and run and play tug of war. Milo is a herding breed, so expect him to want to keep track of where you are and stay close by. He does well when left alone with other dogs and has not shown any destructive behavior. He is doing great with potty training, but as with any new dog, he will need time to adjust to a new routine and continued consistency and training. Milo is very smart and will quickly outsmart you if you don’t keep his mind and body busy! Milo is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. Story
Meet Morticia! Morticia is a 5-year-old, 40-pound mixed breed with a heart full of love and a favorite pastime—snuggling with her people. This sweet girl has plenty of superpowers! She's exceptionally house-trained and can comfortably hold it for long periods without accidents. Morticia is also a smart cookie who already knows commands like come, sit, and down. Most of all, she's a true cuddle bug who is happiest relaxing beside the people she loves. While Morticia is deeply devoted to her family, new places and unfamiliar environments can make her feel anxious. She thrives on routine and feels most comfortable in familiar surroundings. On walks, she prefers to keep to herself, giving other dogs and people plenty of space. Because of this, a home with a physically fenced yard would be ideal for her. Morticia's favorite things are simple: a good meal and spending quality time close to her humans. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will greet you with excitement every time you walk through the door, Morticia is ready to be your very best friend. Morticia is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Meet Charlie! Charlie is a 3-year-old, 60lb Australian Shepherd with a heart as big as his fluffy coat. Through no fault of his own, Charlie and his sister, Mae, found themselves in rescue after their beloved owner was hospitalized and sadly would not be returning home. While losing everything he knew was heartbreaking, Charlie has proven that love and resilience can carry you through. Now, this bestest boy is ready to find a family to call his own. Charlie is neutered, up to date on all of his vaccinations, and completely housebroken. He's settling into foster care beautifully and has quickly become everyone's favorite cuddle buddy. During the day, Charlie is a perfect gentleman. He's happy to hang out by the couch, keeping you company while you work, watch TV, or simply relax. When nighttime comes, however, Charlie's favorite place is snuggled up in bed with his people. If you're looking for a dog who believes there's no such thing as being too close to the ones he loves, Charlie is your perfect match. Charlie absolutely adores his foster dog siblings and would love a home with another confident, well-adjusted dog. Like any good Aussie, he has a natural herding instinct, so he'll do best with a canine friend who doesn't mind his playful style. He's also an active boy who would love a securely fenced yard where he can run, play, and get the zoomies out before coming inside for cuddles. Charlie walks well on a leash but does get excited and can pull, so he'll benefit from a family willing to continue his leash manners and help him become the perfect walking companion. Because Charlie sometimes forgets just how big he is when he's excited, we'd recommend a home with older children. His enthusiasm comes from a place of pure joy—his favorite way to show affection is by enthusiastically leaning, bumping, and loving on his people with his whole heart. Charlie has already experienced more change than any dog should have to, but he hasn't let it change the loving, loyal dog he is. He's looking for a family that will embrace him as a true member of the household, include him in adventures, laugh at his goofy moments, and always save him a spot beside them—especially at bedtime. If you're looking for a best friend who will fill your home with love, laughter, and endless devotion, Charlie is ready to meet you. Charlie is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Meet Mae Mae! Mae Mae is a beautiful 3-year-old, 56lb Australian Shepherd mix with striking, one-of-a-kind coloring and an even more beautiful personality. Through no fault of her own, Mae Mae and her brother, Charlie, found themselves in rescue after their beloved owner was hospitalized and sadly would not be returning home. Despite all the changes she's experienced, Mae Mae has embraced her new life with a happy heart and is ready to find the forever family she deserves. Mae is a sweet, affectionate girl with just the right amount of sass to keep life entertaining. She absolutely loves her foster dog siblings and has a playful, mischievous side that comes out during playtime. She's always ready for a game of chase or a romp around the yard—and she also takes her self-appointed job as the "Counter Police" very seriously! If one of her foster siblings starts investigating the kitchen counters when no one is looking, Mae Mae is quick to report the suspicious activity. She's convinced someone has to keep law and order around the house! Mae Mae walks beautifully on a leash and loves exploring the world, though she can get excited and pull when adventure calls. She's incredibly eager to learn, loves making her people happy, and will thrive with a family willing to continue her training. With her intelligence and willingness to please, she'll catch on in no time. As a true Aussie mix, Mae Mae has strong herding instincts and a healthy prey drive. She would love a home with a fun-loving, laid-back dog companion who is closer to her size and enjoys wrestling and running as much as she does. A securely fenced yard where she can safely burn off energy and play would be the perfect fit. Because Mae Mae gets so excited when she's having fun, she sometimes forgets just how big she is. For that reason, she'd do best in a home with older children who can appreciate her enthusiastic, goofy personality. When playtime is over, Mae Mae transforms into the sweetest cuddle bug. She's wonderfully polite, gently resting her head on the bed to ask permission before hopping up for snuggles. Whether she's curled up beside you on the couch, quietly watching the world from the front door, or happily relaxing on her own, Mae Mae is simply content being near the people she loves. Mae Mae is looking for a family that will appreciate both sides of her personality—the adventurous, playful girl who loves to explore and the gentle soul who just wants a little affection and a cozy place to rest her head. If you're searching for a loyal best friend with a playful spirit, impeccable cuddle manners, and enough personality to keep you smiling every day, Mae Mae is waiting to meet you. Mae Mae is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Meet COWBOY, pure sweetness on 4 legs. He's a gorgeous mixed breed boy with the sweetest face, about 2 years old and fully grown at 34 pounds. Our best guess on breed is beagle/Australian Shepherd plus who knows what else. We're basing that on appearance not personality, he's a fun, playful guy who loves attention, toys, zoomies and hanging out with his people. He loves a good game of fetch. Cowboy is housebroken and would be fine as an only dog or with a "roommate" dog, Cowboy isn't really interested in other dogs, he's all about the people. If you'd like to meet Cowboy, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Cowboy at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Story
Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $300 (in TX)

Story
Meet Elena Ann! Don't let her deafness fool you—Elena is a bright, beautiful Australian Shepherd with a zest for life! This happy, high-energy girl is everything you love about the breed: intelligent, playful, athletic, and always ready for her next adventure. Elena absolutely loves to play fetch, especially with frisbees, though she'll happily chase a ball now and then too. She's wonderful with other dogs, great with kids, and is both crate trained and housebroken. Because Elena is deaf, she's looking for a home that understands her unique needs. She must have another confident dog in the home to help provide routine and companionship. Having a canine buddy helps her navigate daily life and gives her confidence. She's also learned an impressive nighttime recall—simply blink a flashlight, and she'll happily come running inside! Elena is still learning how to walk on a leash and will need a family committed to continuing her training using positive reinforcement and visual cues. Like any Aussie, she'll thrive with plenty of exercise, mental enrichment, and a job to do. If you're looking for an incredibly smart, loving, and active companion who just experiences the world a little differently, Elena is ready to prove that being deaf doesn't slow her down one bit. She's waiting for the perfect family to give her the forever home she deserves. Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi there... I'm Dixie. I'm quite literally the best girl, according to the staff and volunteers here at the rescue. About me: I LOVE the water—I could swim all day! I'm fully potty and house trained, and I'll even let you know when I need to go outside by crying at the door. I walk nicely on a leash and absolutely love playing fetch (at least until my age catches up with me!). I get along wonderfully with other dogs, know my name, and have excellent recall. Here at the rescue, I even enjoy off-leash walks because I stay close and always come back when I'm called. I am a quiet, gentle soul looking for a forever home to call my own. While I may be a little older, I still enjoy playing with my toys and spending time with other dogs when the mood strikes. My journey here has been quite the adventure. During a big storm, the local fire department found me in the water and brought me to the rescue. They later realized they had actually been trying to catch me for months, believing I was a stray. But it turns out I wasn't always on my own. I once had a loving owner, but after he passed away, I was given away because his mother was no longer able to care for me due to her own health challenges. I'm already spayed, fully vaccinated, 4DX tested (positive for heartworm), and up to date on my ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. I am heartworm positive right now, but I’ve already started treatment. I’ve been on antibiotics and am going through the ProHeart 12 protocol approved by the American Heartworm Society. The good news is that with this treatment, I should test negative in about 8–10 months. My adoption fee is $250, and you can apply to adopt me at www.adoggie4you.org. I'm currently in Texas, but I can travel to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (Kentucky), and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Due to state regulations, I cannot be transported to Rhode Island or Massachusetts.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 21, 2026, 11:17 am

Story
Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. If interested in meeting Space please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org!

Story
We adopted Oreo from the Sharonville SPCA seven years ago when she was two. Everyone who meets her says she is beautiful, but her calm, gentle nature is what truly makes her special. Oreo rarely barks; silence is her default state. She won't make a sound when guests arrive or ring the doorbell. The only time she raises her voice is late at night if she senses a potential intruder. When visitors come over, she politely sniffs them for a moment, then quietly returns to her spot. She gets along wonderfully with cats, dogs, children, and adults. Ever watchful, Oreo acts like a peacekeeper, keeping an eye on everyone to make sure no one gets too rowdy or naughty. When she needs to go outside to relieve herself, she communicates her needs clearly without making a fuss. Now nine years old, Oreo remains extremely healthy and doesn't need any medication. She is a loyal, quiet, and playful companion. She will tell u if she needs to go out for popo or pepe. Her face is excellent communicator...
