Story
Between May 1st and 15th, part of my adoption fee is sponsored! Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelters campaign, my new family can take me home for $50! Cody is a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix! This handsome boy is very happy and outgoing, loves going on adventures and spending time with his foster family. He weighs in around 58 pounds, but is pretty leggy! This boy is all puppy, and loves to play and receive lots of attention from his foster family. He's working very hard on not jumping up when excited, and learning basic manners and training! Cody is super sweet and loves to learn; he's extremely treat motivated and hopes his forever family will continue training with him. He is fostered with four cats who he loves. He does well with them, but may engage in a playful chase from time to time. He'd do best in a home with cats that are dog savvy, and won't be startled by his big puppy energy! He is also fostered with other dogs his size, and previously lived with small dogs. Cody would benefit from a confident and social sibling to help him continue to build his confidence. He loves to play rough, but needs some time to acclimate to his new friends before he's ready to wrestle. He enjoys attending doggy daycare where he can run and play and burn off his energy. While he previously lived with a tiny human, he would do best in a home with older kids - teenagers only please! He's both potty trained and crate trained, and working on walking well on his leash. He loves stuffed toys, especially those with squeakers! Cody enjoys running around and does great burning off his energy in the backyard. His ideal forever family will be patient with him as he works on his training and becomes the best version of himself! Cody is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $275! To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Say Hello to Tucker! Tucker is a 9-month-old, 20 lb Mini Aussie. This handsome boy is eager to explore the world then cuddle on the couch. What more could you ask for! He is adjusting so well to his new found freedom! What a fast learner- no potty accidents in the house and comes when called. Now that he is comfortable in his foster home he is showing interest in toys and bones, looks like he's going to be a big fan! He is happy to meet new people, he just needs a minute or two to check things out then greets you with a wiggly butt and a lick on the hand. Did we mention he is great with other dogs! Like any youngster he'll need to be taught to share his toys with furry friends. Exploring outside is his favorite way to burn off energy. Having a yard to run around in would be a dream for this little man. Leashes are a new experience for him, but with time we're confident he'll catch on and enjoy walks with you. Being from a puppy mill and not getting the interaction he so badly craved, he is soaking up all the attention he can get now and gets a bit anxious when left alone. Crate use has been the best way of making sure he doesn't get himself into a pickle while his foster family is away. He fusses at first but then realizes it's ok because they'll be back soon. Snuggling on the couch and getting as much love as you can give would be his perfect day! Does Tucker sound like a great addition to your home? Fill out an application today! Tucker is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Meet the Summer Smores pups: Reese, Hershey, Graham, and Marshmallow (Molly). A litter of four wonderful Aussiedoodles that will make your summer evenings the most enjoyable they've ever been. These little guys are only 2 months old and are already a bunch of fun. They weigh between 8 to 10lbs each and will probably be medium/large sized adults. They love being around their humans and are already showing their intelligence and are working on house training. Hershey has the traditional blue Merle coloring you'd expect to see in an Aussie. He is the biggest of his litter and also happy to lounge around. Always with a smile on his face, Hershey is sweet and loves to show you his belly. Hershey likes to play with his brother and sisters and is always a good time. He does well around other dogs and is great with kids. Hershey will surely do well wherever he goes and will make a great companion. Hershey is currently being fostered in the Dayton, OH area. His adoption fee is $400.00. Story
Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. If interested in meeting Space please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org!
