Story
Red is a sweet and playful girl looking for her forever home! She loves going on walks, playing fetch, and romping around in the snow. She has done well with smaller dogs, though she does NOT do well with cats. Smaller children can sometimes make her nervous, but patience and kindness help her warm up. If you have other dogs or kids at home, a meet and greet is essential to making sure they are a good fit. This affectionate pup is a big baby who adores cuddling and being close to her people. She’s also quite the chatterbox, so expect lots of cute conversation! While car rides aren’t her favorite due to motion sickness, she’s happy to tag along on adventures closer to home. Red would thrive in a home where she gets plenty of playtime, training, and enrichment. She will need ongoing guidance to reinforce her housebreaking and manners. A family that enjoys outdoor activities and has the patience for training will be a great fit for her! If you would like to meet Red. please stop by SPCA Cincinnati to visit her and all our other adoptable pets.

Story
Meet Morticia! Morticia is a 5-year-old, 40-pound mixed breed with a heart full of love and a favorite pastime—snuggling with her people. This sweet girl has plenty of superpowers! She's exceptionally house-trained and can comfortably hold it for long periods without accidents. Morticia is also a smart cookie who already knows commands like come, sit, and down. Most of all, she's a true cuddle bug who is happiest relaxing beside the people she loves. While Morticia is deeply devoted to her family, new places and unfamiliar environments can make her feel anxious. She thrives on routine and feels most comfortable in familiar surroundings. On walks, she prefers to keep to herself, giving other dogs and people plenty of space. Because of this, a home with a physically fenced yard would be ideal for her. Morticia's favorite things are simple: a good meal and spending quality time close to her humans. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will greet you with excitement every time you walk through the door, Morticia is ready to be your very best friend. Morticia is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Meet Mae! Mae is a beautiful 3-year-old, 56lb Australian Shepherd mix with striking, one-of-a-kind coloring and an even more beautiful personality. Through no fault of her own, Mae and her brother, Charlie, found themselves in rescue after their beloved owner was hospitalized and sadly would not be returning home. Despite all the changes she's experienced, Mae has embraced her new life with a happy heart and is ready to find the forever family she deserves. Mae is a sweet, affectionate girl with just the right amount of sass to keep life entertaining. She absolutely loves her foster dog siblings and has a playful, mischievous side that comes out during playtime. She's always ready for a game of chase or a romp around the yard—and she also takes her self-appointed job as the "Counter Police" very seriously! If one of her foster siblings starts investigating the kitchen counters when no one is looking, Mae is quick to report the suspicious activity. She's convinced someone has to keep law and order around the house! Mae walks beautifully on a leash and loves exploring the world, though she can get excited and pull when adventure calls. She's incredibly eager to learn, loves making her people happy, and will thrive with a family willing to continue her training. With her intelligence and willingness to please, she'll catch on in no time. As a true Aussie mix, Mae has strong herding instincts and a healthy prey drive. She would love a home with a fun-loving, laid-back dog companion who is closer to her size and enjoys wrestling and running as much as she does. A securely fenced yard where she can safely burn off energy and play would be the perfect fit. Because Mae gets so excited when she's having fun, she sometimes forgets just how big she is. For that reason, she'd do best in a home with older children who can appreciate her enthusiastic, goofy personality. When playtime is over, Mae transforms into the sweetest cuddle bug. She's wonderfully polite, gently resting her head on the bed to ask permission before hopping up for snuggles. Whether she's curled up beside you on the couch, quietly watching the world from the front door, or happily relaxing on her own, Mae is simply content being near the people she loves. Mae is looking for a family that will appreciate both sides of her personality—the adventurous, playful girl who loves to explore and the gentle soul who just wants a little affection and a cozy place to rest her head. If you're searching for a loyal best friend with a playful spirit, impeccable cuddle manners, and enough personality to keep you smiling every day, Mae is waiting to meet you. Mae is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Meet Charlie! Charlie is a 3-year-old, 60lb Australian Shepherd with a heart as big as his fluffy coat. Through no fault of his own, Charlie and his sister, Mae, found themselves in rescue after their beloved owner was hospitalized and sadly would not be returning home. While losing everything he knew was heartbreaking, Charlie has proven that love and resilience can carry you through. Now, this bestest boy is ready to find a family to call his own. Charlie is neutered, up to date on all of his vaccinations, and completely housebroken. He's settling into foster care beautifully and has quickly become everyone's favorite cuddle buddy. During the day, Charlie is a perfect gentleman. He's happy to hang out by the couch, keeping you company while you work, watch TV, or simply relax. When nighttime comes, however, Charlie's favorite place is snuggled up in bed with his people. If you're looking for a dog who believes there's no such thing as being too close to the ones he loves, Charlie is your perfect match. Charlie absolutely adores his foster dog siblings and would love a home with another confident, well-adjusted dog. Like any good Aussie, he has a natural herding instinct, so he'll do best with a canine friend who doesn't mind his playful style. He's also an active boy who would love a securely fenced yard where he can run, play, and get the zoomies out before coming inside for cuddles. Charlie walks well on a leash but does get excited and can pull, so he'll benefit from a family willing to continue his leash manners and help him become the perfect walking companion. Because Charlie sometimes forgets just how big he is when he's excited, we'd recommend a home with older children. His enthusiasm comes from a place of pure joy—his favorite way to show affection is by enthusiastically leaning, bumping, and loving on his people with his whole heart. Charlie has already experienced more change than any dog should have to, but he hasn't let it change the loving, loyal dog he is. He's looking for a family that will embrace him as a true member of the household, include him in adventures, laugh at his goofy moments, and always save him a spot beside them—especially at bedtime. If you're looking for a best friend who will fill your home with love, laughter, and endless devotion, Charlie is ready to meet you. Charlie is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. If interested in meeting Space please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org!

Story
Hello, fantastic friends! I'm Vader, a 3-year-old with a heart of gold, celebrating my birthday on Dec. 5th! 🎉 Here's a glimpse into why I'm the perfect fit for your loving family: I'm a cuddle connoisseur, belly rub enthusiast, and expert kisser. Treats make my tail wag, and I'm a smart, gentle soul eager to please my new family. A certified conversationalist, I'll gaze into your eyes as we share our thoughts. Rescued with my brother Celery after a West Virginia tornado, my foster parents adored us. While they can only keep one of us due to some sibling logistics, I come with heaps of love, ready to capture your heart. I'm an 65lb Border Collie German Shepherd mix, currently living harmoniously with two fabulous female dogs. I'm open to meeting more furry friends, with a preference for females. Cats, however, aren't my cup of tea. Dreaming of a bustling home with kids and furry companions, a fenced-in yard or a sprawling farm would be ideal. I'm a Gary's Professional Dog Grooming and Training graduate, well-behaved, crate-trained, and ready to learn more. A bit of extra training won't hurt, but patience is my forte. I may need a gentle reminder for commands like "off," but my excitement is just a friendly jump. Seeking a loving, playful, and gentle giant? That's me! Let's embark on this journey together. If interested in meeting Vader please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org.
