Piper has completed basic obedience training and we are now working on leash training. She knows all the essentials: sit, stay, lay down, leave it, and she has excellent recall. She's also fully potty trained and patiently sits while you place her food bowl down waits for a release command before eating—what a good girl! While Piper can be a little shy at first, she warms up quickly to new people in a home setting. Piper is a mix bread girl but with a personality of an Australian Shepherd or Cattle Dog smart, loyal, and full of heart. Piper would do best in a home without cats, she has done well with older kids. Does your dog need a dog!?!? If so, Buddy could be the solution! He had a very rough beginning to life and is extremely shy but LOVES other dogs and needs a canine BFF. In a nutshelll, he was on a proprty with at least a dozen of his friends who were all shot and killed. He was hit in the leg and has fragments still in his leg but it doesn't slow him down but he will limp sometimes. It is not operable so he will be like that forever and will probably have some arthritis as he ages. He is about 4 years old now. If you're looking for a snuggly guy to curl up next to you on the couch, Buddy is not your boy. You won't be petting him or snuggling but he will sleep on the bed with you, stick close, and be your dog's best buddy ever! And as he slowly trusts you more and more he will get closer. He will take treats from your hand, let you boop him on the nose, and every time he gets closer your heart will warm a bit more! He is house trained, crate trained, doggie door trained and really low maintenance and amazing! He just needs his dog friend to play with, snuggle with, run with, etc. He MUST have a very secure fenced in yard since he is a flight risk and no human will be able to catch him easily if he were to escape. He is NOT available for transpoert so any adopter needs to be local to the Huntsville, AL area OR willing to drive here to meet and adopt him. Marmaduke is a big goofy lovebug! He adores children and other dogs. He is very curious about cats and chickens and is probably best in a home without those (or where he can be separated from them). He is about 1 year old and has been in rescue all his life. He had a medical issue as a puppy that required surgery and he is healed from that but needs 24/7 dog door access - he is doggie door trained. He will do best in a home with a secure fenced yard, another dog or dogs to play with that are not tiny since he's so big, and respectful animal-loving children that will love him as much as he loves them. Sweet Karma came from a home that was not equipped to handle the needs of a herding breed who is also a puppy. All Karma wants to do is please. And she is learning. She walks well on a leash, is starting to use a doggy door and loves her fenced backyard. She loves toys and chewies. Potty training is going well and she sleeps thru the night in a crate. She also loves having a human companion as well as doggy companions. She has not met any cats yet so we cannot say what she thinks of them. Karma would be a great addition to any active family. Karma is 4-5 months old and 23 pounds. ***You must provide a vet reference for a current or past pet you have/had.*** We do NOT ship our animals.
