WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.
Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.
Meet Kablam! She's a Sheltie Australian Shepherd mix who is paw-sitively delightful, with a tail-waggingly sweet disposition that'll melt your heart!
DOB: 1/23/24 (12 weeks)
HOME RECOMMENDATION: Since Kablam is a mix of herding breeds, she will need someone who can offer plenty of exercise and enrichment as she gets older.
KIDS? Yes!
OTHER DOGS? Yes! She is currently being fostered with other dogs and does great.
CATS? Unknown, cat test for approved adopters
Favorite Things: Kablam adores exploring the outdoors with her sister, engaging in playful wrestling matches, and discovering new toys to chew on! After a day filled with fun adventures, she eagerly snuggles up in your arms, ready for cozy cuddles. She cherishes the company of her doggy friends and thrives in their presence.

Initially shy upon greeting, Kablam quickly warms up in your embrace, showering you with affectionate kisses and cuddles. Gentle and tranquil by nature, she is intelligent and has a strong desire to please.
Crate training: Doing well!
Leash walking: She is learning and getting better with practice!

Why did they come to WISE? Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Kablam were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.
