Story
She’s an amazing, loving, smart dog but apartment living has not been good for her. She needs a house with a fenced yard, daily exercise, and a calm environment. Fetch is her favorite thing — she needs about 30 minutes daily plus walks/hikes and structure. She’s very food motivated, crate trained, potty trained, and affectionate with people she trusts. She sleeps in bed and is a great companion. She can be anxious with loud environments, strangers, and leash-reactive toward dogs/people. Once introduced calmly with treats, she usually warms up within 30–60 minutes. She does best in a quieter home without constant visitors. Melatonin and trazodone help during stressful events. Looking for someone patient and experienced who understands high-energy working breeds and can give her the space and routine she needs to thrive.

Story
**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to Portland for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Copper! Copper is a very sweet, playful guy! He is around 4 years old, and at his last vet visit weighed in at 60 pounds. We think Copper probably has some Australian Shepherd, along with several other breeds including possibly Belgian Shepherd, Greyhound or Carolina dog. Copper is a beautiful and happy boy. He’s lucky to be alive! Copper came to us from the shelter at a time when he was minutes from losing his life because he had an upper respiratory infection. We are so glad he is with us now, and he is in a training program getting ready for his forever home! Copper does well in a crate, he also does well on a leash. Copper would love to be a hiking or running buddy! His foster mom said he is doing well at learning house training. Copper loves to play with his doggy friends especially tug-of-war with the big rope toys and will do wonderful at a daycare or dog park with other active and playful dogs! Interested in becoming a forever home for Copper? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Copper. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Copper the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Bruiser, a loyal and loving companion, demands consistent stimulation and a strict schedule. Although he’s a quick learner, he exhibits some significant social behaviors with humans, animals, and even swaying trees that he can’t overcome in his current living situation due to safety concerns for young children and an adult on the spectrum. That’s why we’re seeking an experienced dog owner who’s willing to invest the effort to help this sweet goofball’s true personality shine with a fresh start in a neutral, loving home.Bruiser loves to nap as much as he loves to run and play with his toys. He has a bit of Scooby Doo’s personality (VERY food-motivated) and is triggered by sudden sounds or beings in his space. This causes him to snuggle with his closest human or try to protect them (one of the behaviors that needs to be continued addressed).Personality traits:- Adventurous- Affectionate- Athletic- Chill- Clever- Communicative

Story
Arlo is his name and his gentle eyes match his heart perfectly! Arlo is currently fostered in a loving home with three kids (ages 4–12), and his daily routine reads like a cozy family story. Mornings start with breakfast and a short walk to the bus stop with the kids, followed by backyard zoomies and toy time with his small dog buddy. Then it’s nap time… until the kids come home and it’s right back to play, connection, and winding down together for the evening. He is house and crate trained, knows the rhythm of home life, and truly thrives when he knows where his people are. Go watch Arlo on YouTube, then come right back to read more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw53vBp1SkA Arlo is estimated to be 1 year old, he weighs 48 lbs and may be a husky/shepherd mix but of course, he is a rescue so we cannot guarantee age or breed. Arlo’s foster has had a wonderful front row seat to the Arlo show and shared so much about him. We lovingly call him a “slow bloom, big reward” kind of dog. He can be shy when meeting new people and may hang back at first, taking everything in from a safe distance and in these moments you see just how adoring and devoted he is. This is when he looks to his person for reassurance while he figures things out. But with a little time, a little patience, and a steady routine… on the other side you have the sweetest, most devoted boy who just wants to be close to you. One thing that helps Arlo feel his best is having a canine buddy, especially a smaller dog. He absolutely lights up around his little foster sibling, following along, playing, and gaining confidence just by having that companionship. Bigger dogs can feel a bit overwhelming for him right now, so a home with a smaller, friendly dog or a calm, easygoing larger dog (with a thoughtful introduction and decompression time) would be ideal. Arlo would feel most comfortable in a home with a yard where he can settle in and build confidence at his own pace. Walks in busy or unfamiliar places can feel like a lot for him right now, but he’s a smart, trainable boy who just needs time, consistency, and someone willing to show him the world can be a safe and gentle place. If you’ve ever loved a shy dog, you already know… there is something incredibly special about earning their trust. Arlo isn’t trying to be everyone’s dog. He’s waiting to be someone’s dog. And when he is, it’s the kind of bond that feels steady and true. Are you Arlo’s person? Apply today and welcome home a gentle family boy who just might become your favorite little shadow. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/697b7a35063e5fe841006850 Questions? Story
Meet Roma — your future best friend, personal comedian, and professional heart-stealer all wrapped up in one tiny, wiggly package. At just 4 months old, Roma is already overflowing with personality. She’s the kind of puppy who makes every day feel brighter and a lot more fun. Playful, curious, and endlessly sweet, Roma turns even the simplest moments into an adventure. Whether she’s bouncing after a toy, romping around with her dog friends, or exploring something new, she does it all with a happy, tail-wagging enthusiasm that’s impossible to resist. Watch her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/sce0rceiGXA?si=7bn7aO2qSwpfU6O2 Roma absolutely loves other dogs and thrives in their company. She would do wonderfully in a home with a playful canine companion who can help show her the ropes and keep up with her puppy energy. She’s also incredibly people-focused and adores attention — she wants to be where you are, involved in your day, and soaking up every bit of love and affection you have to give. Even at her young age, Roma is already showing how smart and adaptable she is. She’s learning her leash skills very well and is picking things up quickly, making great progress with guidance and consistency. She’s also been to multiple events with lots of people and kids and handled it all beautifully. She takes new experiences in stride, showing a confident, social, and easygoing nature that makes her stand out. Of course, Roma is still a young puppy, which means she’ll need a family ready to continue her training with patience, structure, and positive reinforcement. She’s at the perfect age to build strong habits, and with her possible Australian Shepherd and Lab mix, she’s likely to grow into an intelligent, loyal, and active companion who will thrive with both mental and physical enrichment. Roma’s energy is joyful and contagious. She’ll keep you laughing with her silly, playful antics, then happily settle in for cuddles when she’s ready to recharge. She brings that perfect mix of fun and affection that makes life with a puppy so special. Because she’s so young, Roma will do best in a home that can give her plenty of time, attention, and continued socialization. Puppies like her need guidance and commitment, but in return, she’ll give you a lifetime of love, loyalty, and companionship. If you’ve been looking for a puppy who is as sweet as she is spirited, as loving as she is lively, Roma might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to find a forever family who will grow with her, guide her, and love her every step of the way. Adopt Roma and see just how quickly she’ll steal your heart. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69bf3b062cd5ecbbc00713d7 Questions? Story
Truffle is the kind of dog who won't be the loudest personality in the room, but she just might be the one who steals your heart the fastest. Gentle, thoughtful, and wonderfully easy to love, she has a quiet sweetness that makes every little moment with her feel special. Go watch Truffle Rae on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this tender-hearted little lady. https://youtu.be/JjH-UICAXzk Truffle is a rescue, so breed and age are simply our best guess but she is estimated to be around 2 years old, weighs a perfectly petite 38 pounds, and looks very much like an Australian Shepherd mix. Because she is fostered in a loving home, we know for certain that she is a soft-natured, loving girl with excellent house manners and a heart as sweet as her name. Truffle is currently thriving in a foster home where she lives with a Pit Bull pal she absolutely adores. The two enjoy running and playing together, and her favorite place to take breaks between games is her beloved sand pile in the yard. If there's a game of chase about to happen, chances are you'll find Truffle patiently waiting nearby, ready to join in. Her foster family describes her as an easy addition to their home, and it's easy to see why. She's house trained, crate trained, gentle with the children in the home, and always happy to accept a treat or two. She enjoys having a dog friend around but carries herself with such an easygoing nature that she settles comfortably into daily life. When meeting new people, Truffle prefers a polite introduction rather than an enthusiastic grand entrance. She takes a little time to warm up, but does so in the calmest, most endearing way. No drama, no panic, no fuss. Just a quiet hello, a few moments to take everything in, and before long she's happily relaxing nearby, content to be part of the moment. If you've been hoping to find a gentle companion with a soft heart, lovely manners, and a peaceful presence, we are sure Truffle is the girl who you've been looking for. To learn more about Truffle, please complete an adoption application. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69e668ffea48cc9dd3047af9 Questions can be directed to Kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org.
