Story
Piper is an Australian Shephard of 8 months of age. She is not house broken, rather she is trained to use puppy pads, due to the physical limitation of the care taker. She hasn't had any accidents, she just uses the puppy pad. Piper was received by my grandson , and we thought things would work, but in the course of human events things have made major changes here and we need to rehome her asap. Her owner will be gone for 3 months and the grandmother is not physically capable of caring for her. Piper is young, energetic, playful, and lives up to her breed, she gets board when inside for too long, and she is an explorer. This is not easy for my grandson, or me we had different dreams when she came, but physically I am incapable of handling such an energetic breed, .

*** Apply to adopt at: https://greatheartk9.com/finn Additional questions: hello@greatheartk9.com Instagram: @Adoptfinnpdx Finn is a 5 year old ‘mini’ Australian Shepherd. As with his breed, he is full of energy and extremely smart!! His favorite thing is to play fetch. He absolutely loves to learn new things and train. He enjoys putting his brain to work for mealtime with various puzzles and snuffle mats. Finn has challenges on walks with regards to reactivity towards people and dogs and will require continued training. He will also need his adopter to continue working on noise desensitization to triggers. Finn is on behavior modification medications and these will need to be continued for him to thrive. Finn is searching for a special person who is calm, patient and committed to positive reinforcement training. He would do best in a house with a large yard with space from neighbors. Finn’s prey drive has resulted in chasing the household cat - he needs a home with no cats.

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Portland, OR Meet Finn! He is an 5 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 45 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Finn is reactive to strangers and dogs on walks, so he will need continued training. He hasn’t been tested around children. No cats or children, due to his reactivity! The owner is requiring a meet and greet for any interested people who already have a dog. He has exhibited resource guarding in the past with cats, so that will have to be considered if he is adopted into a home with another dog. Finn loves to play fetch! He is very smart and enjoys puzzles and snuffle mats! He is sensitive to loud noises, such as fireworks or children screaming, so he will also need a patient adopter who can provide the training he needs. Finn is given trazodone and clomicalm for behavior modification. The owner is surrendering him because he chases and growls/snarls at their cat. If you think you can provide a great home for Finn, please contact the person listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Finn. Contact Information: Christina at hello@greatheartk9.com

Story
Meet Rocky, affectionately known as Chunky—a vibrant and spirited 3-year-old mini Aussie mix (possibly Pomeranian) who is searching for his forever home. This charming little fellow is more than just a pretty face; he’s a whirlwind of personality, bursting with energy and a love for companionship. Rocky thrives on the warmth of human connection, finding his joy in being close to those he adores. Whether he’s lounging peacefully at your feet or basking in the golden rays of sunshine outside, he embodies the essence of a loyal friend. Potty trained and crate trained, Rocky is a remarkable learner, eager to impress with his skills—he knows how to sit, shake, and lay down, and he’ll happily chase after a ball, occasionally bringing it back with an infectious enthusiasm. With a spark of attitude, Rocky is in search of a strong, loving human to guide him, a partner who can embrace his spirited nature. He revels in the company of other dogs, delighting in their playful antics as they chase and frolic together. In his current home in Portland, Oregon, he shares his days with a lively pack of six mini Aussies, creating a joyful whirlwind of laughter and adventure. But watch out—as much as he loves to play, he can be a tad grumpy when it comes to sharing the bed or his favorite bone. He will need a strong human to understand his personality and work with him. Rocky would thrive best in an adult-only home, where he can shine without the hustle and bustle of young children. He’s been neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated—ready to embark on a beautiful new journey with a special someone who will cherish him for all that he is. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to fill your life with love and adventure, Rocky is waiting to fill your heart with joy! Rocky is being fostered in Portland, OR. Here is the appliction: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.
