Story
*** Apply to adopt at: https://greatheartk9.com/finn Finn is a 5 year old ‘mini’ Australian Shepherd. As with his breed, he is full of energy and extremely smart!! His favorite thing is to play fetch. He absolutely loves to learn new things and train. He enjoys putting his brain to work for mealtime with various puzzles and snuffle mats. Finn has challenges on walks with regards to reactivity towards people and dogs and will require continued training. He will also need his adopter to continue working on noise desensitization to triggers. Finn is on behavior modification medications and these will need to be continued for him to thrive. Finn is searching for a special person who is calm, patient and committed to positive reinforcement training. He would do best in a house with a large yard with space from neighbors and is used to his human working from home.. He cannot be in a home with either cats Please email any additional questions: hello@greatheartk9.com IG: @Adoptfinnpdx

Story
Ellie is an incredibly smart, loving, and high energy dog that struggles with some anxiety and reactivity after being attacked by a dog when she was a puppy. She would love to be in a home with someone who loves playing fetch, hide and seek, and loves to cuddle. She bonds with people easily, but does not do well with small children (the reason we have to rehome her), dogs, or cats. She likes to hike and run, and would do well in a household where she has access to a yard or acreage. Ellie gets stressed out with loud noises and busy environments and will need continued and constant training with leash walking, recall, and staying calm. She would be a good dog for an experienced dog owner, preferably someone who understands how to mentally and physically stimulate herding dogs.

Story
Zephyr is looking for a best friend, a partner in crime, a human to call home. She is a true companion, and gets so much joy from being included in whatever her humans are doing. She loves deeply, and as a working dog, she sees it as her "job" to look out for all the people and pets in her pack. She loves to sleep in and snuggle in the mornings, chase after the ball, play with her dog friends, go on long walks and bike rides, and prance around the house with her favorite toys. As with any Aussie, she needs daily exercise and enrichment. This can be walks/runs/hikes, bike rides, puppy play dates, training sessions, car rides, or even a job on a farm. Zeph has been through extensive training so she is smart and knows her commands, but she does have some of the typical Aussie reactivity. If she feels worried by other dogs (i.e. on leash), she may give off warning barks. She just sees herself as our protector and needs a kind and patient owner who appreciates all that she is.
