Copper is a very sweet, playful guy! He is around 4 years old, and at his last vet visit weighed in at 60 pounds. We think Copper probably has some Australian Shepherd, along with several other breeds including possibly Belgian Shepherd, Greyhound or Carolina dog. Copper is a beautiful and happy boy. He’s lucky to be alive! Copper came to us from the shelter at a time when he was minutes from losing his life because he had an upper respiratory infection. We are so glad he is with us now, and he is in a training program getting ready for his forever home! Copper does well in a crate, he also does well on a leash. Copper would love to be a hiking or running buddy! His foster mom said he is doing well at learning house training. Copper loves to play with his doggy friends especially tug-of-war with the big rope toys and will do wonderful at a daycare or dog park with other active and playful dogs! All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Australian Shepherd + Labrador Retriever + German Shepherd Mix 10 months old Male 35 pounds Kids · 10+ Dogs · Yes Cats · No I don’t want to seem like a show-off or anything, but I am pretty sweet, and friendly, and affectionate with people... unless I am on leash! Goodness do I need help with my leash manners, I can pretty grumpy meeting new people and dogs on leash. I won’t mind sharing my home with kids 10+, or other dogs. I mean, they are all so much fun to play with! But I’m not to sure how to be friends with a kitty. I could run and wrestle and romp all day! I’m a pretty happy boy with a great attitude and a curious demeanor. I’ve got the brains to excel at arithmetic, but who am I kidding…I just can’t wait for recess! I’m super smart, playful, eager to please, and longing to be loved; so a family that is committed to working on continued training, giving me lots of guidance and structure is exactly what I need. Willow is an incredibly sweet, intelligent, and devoted dog. She joined our family in 2020 after her original owner needed to find a new home for her due to personal health issues. She attached to us quickly, strongly desires to please us, and loves to be near her humans. She has been a special part of our family for the last five years. She will do well in a household that welcomes a lot of attention from her. She responds to verbal cues well and learns quickly. She understands basic commands and will spin on her hind legs for a treat. Willow struggles with some reactivity towards other dogs and needs distance from them on walks. We believe that she needs to be in a home without children or other pets. However, she is highly trainable so we are certain she will respond well to training! Willow loves to go on walks and to the beach. She enjoys playing with balls and ropes. She has a playful personality and particularly enjoys playing with a human!

I have had Charlie for his entire life. He is an 11 year old Miniature Australian Shepherd who is loving, energetic, and a great companion. He has been a great dog, but since adding children to our family, we are not able to meet his needs. Charlie’s anxiety is high around the children and he needs a home with more space and available time to spend with him. He is crate trained, very good on hikes, he loves to swim and play fetch. He is protective around his home and will bark at strangers and other dogs. Once you get to know him he is sweet and loves to cuddle. A home with no children, limited visitors, and space for exercise would be ideal for Charlie.

Meet Castiel! Castiel is currently 3 1/2 months old, and we think he may be an Aussiepoo— Australian Shepherd poodle mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Castiel is a joyful boy with a wiry coat, probably moderate to low shedder, and he’s young so he has spunky energy. He likes toys and playing with kids! He tries to instigate play and engagement. Castile is so unique and beautiful! Everywhere we take him, people talk about how unique he is! Castiel is a Good little guy! He played with Jessica - another small playful dog- and he is not too pushy with his play, for a puppy. He played chase for a little bit and would come back up to me to sit next to my feet. Once he got tired he would lay down in front of me and relax taking all the affection he could get. He is a puppy so he will need some training as he gets older, but he will learn quickly because he is very much a people pleaser. When he met my kids ages 4 and 7, he was joyful and wanted to engage with them. He’s very trusting and outgoing. He does like toys and wants to initiate play. He met a cat with us and was uninterested. Castiel is a special boy who doesn't let anything slow him down. He has limited eyesight and hearing but is still fully capable of jumping up on the couch for a romp and a snuggle.
