Story
Daisy is a five-year-old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. She knows how to get on her hind legs and spin around in circles. She'll also jump up into your arms when you tap your chest. The owner says that she chews on things and jumps up on counters when she's left alone. They say they've tried to teach her not to, but it didn't work and that she'll be ''better off with someone who has the time to work with her''. Her spay is included in her adoption donation is $250.September 29, 2023, 10:04 pm

Story
Sammy is good with big dogs and younger kids. He lives with an older German Shepherd and plays with the 3 and 2 year old grandkids when they visit. He plays well with our friends pitbulls when they come to visit. He has been trained to sit and lay down and knows the command "gentle" when taking a treat from the hand. He likes to play growl when being cuddled with. He behaves like a giant lap dog when indoors. He naturally attaches to females. We always have food down that he shares with our Shepherd. He tends to be protective of the food when there are visitors. Sammy does not do well with smaller animals. The adopting house will need to take precautions with him around smaller dogs and animals and he should be in a fenced area He has been very good about protecting the property from Racoons and possums. We do not recommend him for an urban setting due to his aggression with smaller dogs. I believe he is due for his vaccines but our vet retired and closed his business.

Story
URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Newberg, OR Maverick is a 2 year old Australian Shepherd in Newberg, OR and weighs 75 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Maverick is ok with dogs his size or smaller but nervous around strangers. No large dogs or small children please due to his reactivity! He hasn’t been tested around older children or cats. Maverick was recently barking at the other side of the house. He bit her husband after he grabbed his collar to guide him back towards the other side of the house. The owner is surrendering him because of his aggression towards her and her husband. He needs to go by 9/17! If you think you can provide a great home for Maverick, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Maverick. Owner’s Contact Information: Kady Gaumer (857) 400-4347 or kadyjoy@gmail.com.

Story
Bella is a blithe spirit who loves to play with rope pulls or toys. She enjoys a little play throughout the day.  Does well in crates. Not mouthy. Very light on her feet and loves to run about.  She is generally quiet and seems to be good around other dogs while on a leash (we have not had her off leash with anyone... but she is a puppy so she is both guarded but unknowing of some dog ways. Yet, she seems like a fast learner. ) She really just wants to be around people. When you sit at the table she is at your feet sitting or laying down. She likes to hug and cuddle while on a couch . She can scale a 5" fence... not easily, but it seems she is not an escape artist... she only scaled the gate when I have taken out the cans to the street. She just wanted to be with me.September 29, 2023, 6:03 pm

Story
Barry is just about 25# of love and comes from a MiniAussie/Corgi mum and according to the DNA test done by a sibling pup the dad who did the deed was an Australian Cattledog/Pug mix. You can see the Pug in Barry’s curly tail. A love bug to our own kid, but other small humans make him skittish and he does barks at them if they move to fast. He has never bitten. Unfortunately it’s time to be fair to him and let him find a home that is able to take him on all the walks and socialize him and train him to be the best boy he can be. I have not been able to do that with my medical condition and we have waited long enough. He gets along well with our very old senior dog and plays well with visiting dogs, but has not learned to socialize well in public - only from lack of opportunities. He is crate trained, but prefers to snuggle in bed. He was leash trained fairly well but will need to be refreshed as I haven’t been able to walk him regularly. Barry can also catch his own tail!

Story
Australian Shepherd + Labrador Retriever + German Shepherd Mix 6 months old Male 35 pounds Kids · 10+ Dogs · Yes Cats · Yes I don’t want to seem like a show-off or anything, but I am pretty sweet, and friendly, and affectionate with people... unless I am on leash! Goodness do I need help with my leash manners. I won’t mind sharing my home with kids 10+, dog-savvy cats or other dogs. I mean, they are all so much fun to play with! I could run and wrestle and romp all day! I’m a pretty happy-go-lucky boy with a great attitude and a curious demeanor. I’ve got the brains to excel at arithmetic, but who am I kidding…I just can’t wait for recess! Smart, playful, eager to please, and longing to be loved, so a family with respectful children to love on me would be great. Why not come in and meet me? I want so badly to show off what a cute fella I am! My adoption fee is $500 and includes microchip & registration, neuter, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Story
Holly Dolly is such a happy and fun loving girl! She is like your personal cheerleader always by your side cheering you on through anything and everything. Holly Dolly loves meeting new people and she knows no stranger, that might be my favorite thing about her. How happy and loving she is with everyone she meets. She really is your personal cheerleader. Watch her video here: https://youtu.be/QNe_pnF9x7k Holly Dolly beautiful Lab Aussie mix approximately 6 months old and currently weighs 34 lbs and is still growing. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Holly is just a baby and still has a lot to learn but man oh man is she so willing and eager to learn. Holly is very treat and toy motivated which will make training a breeze and that much easier. She loves to please her humans. She needs to work on some basic obedience training such as sit and needs to work on her leash skills too but she will pick it up quickly. Holly has so much love to give that she jumps with joy when she’s happy and will need to learn that she can still smother her people with love without jumping. She is really smart and within the short amount of time working with her she was already understanding the “no jumping” concept. Holly Dolly would do best in a semi active home with a backyard where she can run around, go on hiking adventures with and trips to the beach as she loves the water. Once her leash skills are superb, she would make a great hiking and running companion. Since she is still young, she does have puppy energy and will need a family that will give her the training, stimulation, and exercise that she needs. Holly does settle in a home and even in chaos when there is a lot going on she has great house manners. She is very dog friendly and did great with all of the dogs we introduced her to. Holly would do best in a home with other moderately playful dogs like her but can also be a only dog as well. She does not need another dog in the home to feel comfortable and open up. She is a social butterfly and loves everyone and everything. Holly also did fairly well during her cat test. There was a lot going on when she was cat tested but her initial reaction was to be avoidant which is a good thing. We do not know if she has ever lived with cats before nor can we guarantee that this won’t change once in a home enviromrnent with cats. With proper and slow introductions, we believe that she has the ability to co-exist with cats. To our knowledge, Holly Dolly is crate trained and potty trained but may need a reminder once she arrives at her forever home especially since she is still so young patience is a virtue. We are willing to test Holly with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
