**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to Portland for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Copper! Copper is a very sweet, playful guy! He is around 4 years old, and at his last vet visit weighed in at 60 pounds. We think Copper probably has some Australian Shepherd, along with several other breeds including possibly Belgian Shepherd, Greyhound or Carolina dog. Copper is a beautiful and happy boy. He’s lucky to be alive! Copper came to us from the shelter at a time when he was minutes from losing his life because he had an upper respiratory infection. We are so glad he is with us now, and he is in a training program getting ready for his forever home! Copper does well in a crate, he also does well on a leash. Copper would love to be a hiking or running buddy! His foster mom said he is doing well at learning house training. Copper loves to play with his doggy friends especially tug-of-war with the big rope toys and will do wonderful at a daycare or dog park with other active and playful dogs! Interested in becoming a forever home for Copper? Story
**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Mia! Mia is making her debut here at our rescue after her owner turned her out on the streets in rural Oklahoma where she had several litters of puppies and developed severe hair loss due to years of chronic demodex. Her skin is soft now and most of her beautiful coat has filled in. She still has some bald spots and her skin scrape is negative, so we are unsure if she will have new hair growth in the bald areas or not. After wonderful care from our vet and foster mom, daily Apoquel and high quality food... Mia is ready for her forever home! Mia is the definition of a smart velcro dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side or in your car 24/7. Mia is the master of playing fetch, loves to tear up stuffed toys, opens gate latches and door latches! Although Mia loves people small children and small dogs make her very nervous...not aggressive as there are small dogs in her foster home...just nervous. She is fine with bigger dogs and kids! Mia's foster mom thinks Mia is part angel!! It's time for Mia to share her love with her new person! Could that be you? Interested in becoming a forever home for Mia? Story
Lucky is a smart and sassy baby girl! She has loads of energy and wants to play whenever she isn't sleeping and cuddling up to you. We really think she deserves to be in a home with a backyard for her to regularly run in everyday because she needs the exercise and she is SO fast! Seriously, she is always the fastest runner at the dog park and can jump super high. 😆 She is small but has a long torso and legs like a deer haha. She would benefit from owners who are okay with barking and enjoy training. She loves to explore and go on walks and would also be a great running or hiking buddy. She loves socializing with other dogs and humans but not cats. We think that getting to live with another dog would help keep her stimulated and make her really happy, but it is not a requirement. She is also part pug! We love her so much, but alas cannot afford to keep her anymore with expenses rising and two kids of our own to take care of. We hope we can find a loving and active home for her. 💙

Story
Arlo is his name and his gentle eyes match his heart perfectly! Arlo is currently fostered in a loving home with three kids (ages 4–12), and his daily routine reads like a cozy family story. Mornings start with breakfast and a short walk to the bus stop with the kids, followed by backyard zoomies and toy time with his small dog buddy. Then it’s nap time… until the kids come home and it’s right back to play, connection, and winding down together for the evening. He is house and crate trained, knows the rhythm of home life, and truly thrives when he knows where his people are. Go watch Arlo on YouTube, then come right back to read more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw53vBp1SkA Arlo is estimated to be 1 year old, he weighs 48 lbs and may be a husky/shepherd mix but of course, he is a rescue so we cannot guarantee age or breed. Arlo’s foster has had a wonderful front row seat to the Arlo show and shared so much about him. We lovingly call him a “slow bloom, big reward” kind of dog. He can be shy when meeting new people and may hang back at first, taking everything in from a safe distance and in these moments you see just how adoring and devoted he is. This is when he looks to his person for reassurance while he figures things out. But with a little time, a little patience, and a steady routine… on the other side you have the sweetest, most devoted boy who just wants to be close to you. One thing that helps Arlo feel his best is having a canine buddy, especially a smaller dog. He absolutely lights up around his little foster sibling, following along, playing, and gaining confidence just by having that companionship. Bigger dogs can feel a bit overwhelming for him right now, so a home with a smaller, friendly dog or a calm, easygoing larger dog (with a thoughtful introduction and decompression time) would be ideal. Arlo would feel most comfortable in a home with a yard where he can settle in and build confidence at his own pace. Walks in busy or unfamiliar places can feel like a lot for him right now, but he’s a smart, trainable boy who just needs time, consistency, and someone willing to show him the world can be a safe and gentle place. If you’ve ever loved a shy dog, you already know… there is something incredibly special about earning their trust. Arlo isn’t trying to be everyone’s dog. He’s waiting to be someone’s dog. And when he is, it’s the kind of bond that feels steady and true. Are you Arlo’s person? Apply today and welcome home a gentle family boy who just might become your favorite little shadow. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/697b7a35063e5fe841006850 Questions? Story
Meet Roma — your future best friend, personal comedian, and professional heart-stealer all wrapped up in one tiny, wiggly package. At just 3 months old, Roma is already overflowing with personality. She’s the kind of puppy who makes every day feel brighter and a lot more fun. Playful, curious, and endlessly sweet, Roma turns even the simplest moments into an adventure. Whether she’s bouncing after a toy, romping around with her dog friends, or exploring something new, she does it all with a happy, tail-wagging enthusiasm that’s impossible to resist. Watch her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/sce0rceiGXA?si=7bn7aO2qSwpfU6O2 Roma absolutely loves other dogs and thrives in their company. She would do wonderfully in a home with a playful canine companion who can help show her the ropes and keep up with her puppy energy. She’s also incredibly people-focused and adores attention — she wants to be where you are, involved in your day, and soaking up every bit of love and affection you have to give. Even at her young age, Roma is already showing how smart and adaptable she is. She’s learning her leash skills very well and is picking things up quickly, making great progress with guidance and consistency. She’s also been to multiple events with lots of people and kids and handled it all beautifully. She takes new experiences in stride, showing a confident, social, and easygoing nature that makes her stand out. Of course, Roma is still a young puppy, which means she’ll need a family ready to continue her training with patience, structure, and positive reinforcement. She’s at the perfect age to build strong habits, and with her possible Australian Shepherd and Lab mix, she’s likely to grow into an intelligent, loyal, and active companion who will thrive with both mental and physical enrichment. Roma’s energy is joyful and contagious. She’ll keep you laughing with her silly, playful antics, then happily settle in for cuddles when she’s ready to recharge. She brings that perfect mix of fun and affection that makes life with a puppy so special. Because she’s so young, Roma will do best in a home that can give her plenty of time, attention, and continued socialization. Puppies like her need guidance and commitment, but in return, she’ll give you a lifetime of love, loyalty, and companionship. If you’ve been looking for a puppy who is as sweet as she is spirited, as loving as she is lively, Roma might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to find a forever family who will grow with her, guide her, and love her every step of the way. Adopt Roma and see just how quickly she’ll steal your heart. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69bf3b062cd5ecbbc00713d7 Questions? Story
**Currently fostered in Oak Harbor,WA and available for meet and greets!** Meet Honey Belle. The kind of dog everyone wishes they had! If you’ve ever dreamed of a dog who just fits into your life, the one who adores your kids, is dog friendly, cat friendly, charms your neighbors, and somehow makes every day feel softer and sweeter, Honey Belle is that dog. See for yourself here! https://youtu.be/nEWURm9DBxk Honey is 5 years old and we believe to be an Australian Shepherd/Anatolian or Great Pyrenees mix, but with any rescue it is our best guess due to her markings, temperament and size! Speaking of size, Honey weighs a full 85 lbs! Now Homey will tell you she is perfect just the way she is, and while she’s not wrong, Honey is currently on a weight loss journey to shave some lbs. When you are so affectionate everyone wants to shower you with treats (what can a girl say😌) When you spend your days getting to know dogs and trying to match them to the right homes, you start to recognize the rare ones, and Honey is just that. She is so unique and special in many, many ways! The ones that just a family to love them and to give their love endlessly. She is calm, deeply affectionate, and incredibly in tune with her people. She doesn’t demand attention, she simply stays close, following you from room to room, settling in nearby, always wanting to be part of whatever you’re doing. Her presence is soft and steady, the kind that makes a house feel like home. With children, she is something truly special. Honey has been around kids of all ages, from babies to older children, and she is consistently gentle, patient, and aware of her size. She is currently toy fostered with kids between 7-9 years old and they are her pride and joy (truly!) She naturally adjusts her energy around them, even managing her zoomies carefully so she doesn’t overwhelm little ones. The kids in her foster home are able to walk her themselves because she is such a dream on leash. No pulling, no chaos, just an easy, steady walk that makes her a perfect fit for a family. Afterschool pickup is her favorite, she gets to say to all of the neighborhood kids and roll on her back for belly scratches. She doesn’t just live alongside the kids, she becomes part of their routine. Honey knows bedtime means it’s time to gather everyone, and she will go find the kids and help usher them off to bed. In the evenings, she’s right there for movie night, curled up on the couch, soaking in every bit of closeness like it’s exactly where she belongs. Honey gives affection in the gentlest way. She leans in softly, always seeking connection without overwhelming. Belly rubs are a must in her world. She will happily walk right up, roll onto her back, and patiently wait for them, completely content. She truly believes she’s a lap dog and will climb right in whenever she gets the chance. Out in the neighborhood, Honey is a favorite. People know her, kids love her, and she soaks it all up. She loves meeting new people and will gladly make her rounds collecting pets and attention. In her mind, there are no strangers, just friends she hasn’t met yet. She does beautifully with other dogs, enjoying play without needing constant interaction, and she is also cat friendly. She has previously lived with a cat and even cuddled up together in bed, which speaks to how easygoing and respectful she is. At home, she is just easy. She is potty trained, comfortable with a routine, and has a calm, balanced energy. She enjoys having a yard to explore but is just as happy being inside, close to her people. Toys are not really her thing. What she wants most is connection, companionship, and a place to belong. She may give a few barks when someone comes to the door or get a little excited greeting guests, but she responds well to redirection and continues to improve. Honey simply can’t believe there is a new visitor to get belly scratches from!! She is eager to please and naturally wants to do the right thing. Honey Belle is not just a great dog. She is a rare kind of dog. The kind that quietly weaves herself into your life and suddenly you can’t imagine a day without her. She’s ready to become someone’s everything. If you’ve been waiting for that feeling, the one where you just know, this is it. Don’t wait on Honey. Dogs like her do not come around often, and once you meet her, you will understand exactly why. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/62df4fe439b933510e277825 Questions?
