Story
Trying to find a new home for our 1 year old Australian Shepherd. He's not fixed yet. He's had his puppy shots but none since then he's too much for us since we have a newborn, a special needs kid and a 3 year old. He's just too hyper, he keeps knocking down our 3 year old while playing, he barks at strangers until he's used to them ever since somebody's dog snapped at him. He barks at everyone and every animal since then. We don't have the time to train him. We did research about him and wasn't sure at first but the people we got him from convinced us that he'd be perfect and he hasn't been. We kept trying to train him until we found out we were pregnant and we've been trying to find a new home since. He's a really good, loving dog. He comes when called and he hasn't run off when the gate is left open. He's just gotten to hyper for the kids and we don't have the time to keep training him like we have been.

URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Portland, OR Meet Copper! He is an 8 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 35 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Copper is fearful of strangers! He hasn’t been tested around children. He is good with other dogs! No cats, due to his reactivity. Copper bit the owner’s friend in 2022. He has stranger danger and the owner has worked with trainers. Once Copper warms up to you, he does well. He just take a while to warm up to strangers. He is currently on a trial for Sertaline, a medication for his anxiety when he is left alone at home. The owner is surrendering him because they are expecting a baby and won’t be able to provide the time and attention that he needs. He needs to go by 8/31! If you think you can provide a great home for Copper, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. His favorite thing is to play fetch. He absolutely loves to learn new things and train. He enjoys putting his brain to work for mealtime with various puzzles and snuffle mats. Finn has challenges on walks with regards to reactivity towards people and dogs and will require continued training. He will also need his adopter to continue working on noise desensitization to triggers. Finn is on behavior modification medications and these will need to be continued for him to thrive. Finn is searching for a special person who is calm, patient and committed to positive reinforcement training. He would do best in a house with a large yard with space from neighbors and is used to his human working from home..
