Story
Meet Albert, the pup with the incredible ears—and an even more incredible personality! At 1.5 years old and 33 pounds, this Boxer mix is the definition of a best friend. Albert is a cuddly, loving companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side. He’s playful and full of life, always ready for tug-of-war, chasing tennis balls, munching sticks, or running laps around the yard. With his big heart and boundless energy, Albert will make a fun and active addition to a lucky forever home. Albert spent much of his first year in a shelter, but since joining his foster family he’s blossomed. He’s learning basic doggy manners, sleeps well in his crate, and is making steady progress with potty training. He’s smart, attentive, and eager to please—picking up new commands quickly. This sweet boy would do best in a home with a fully fenced yard in a calm neighborhood, where he can play safely and build confidence. He loves other dogs and would enjoy a canine friend, and because of his energy level, a home with children 10 and older is ideal. If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Story
Have you ever heard the phrase, “To know a beagle is to love a beagle,” but realized you’ve never actually met one? Well, lucky you—here I am, the sweetest beagle around, and I just so happen to be looking for my forever home! My name is Laia, and I’m two years old. I absolutely love being around other dogs and would make a wonderful companion for any canine friends you already have. I’m okay with cats, too—though between you and me, they’re not quite as fun as dogs, but I won’t bother them. I’m looking for someone who understands my breed and is willing to be patient and gentle with me. I’ve had a tough start and carry some fear-based behaviors, so I’ll need your help learning that the world doesn’t have to be so scary. Loud noises and sudden movements are especially frightening for me, so I’d really prefer a calm, quiet home with soft voices and predictable routines. I’ll also need to stay leashed outdoors until I’m no longer a flight risk—so those joyful off-leash zoomies will have to wait just a little while. I may be timid at first. It will take time for me to believe that you’re truly here to love and protect me—but once I do, I will blossom. I can be incredibly snuggly and affectionate with the people I trust, and I have so much love to give. Just a little praise means the world to me, so don’t hold back on the compliments! I promise I’m worth the wait. With patience and kindness, I’ll show you just how special a beagle’s love can be.   If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Story
Meet Wilson! This around 2-year-old beagle mix with a suspiciously curly tail (what breed is that?!) comes with all the best features: house-broken, crate trained (with minimal treat-based bribery required), excellent leash manners, and a personality that's 50% snuggle bug, 50% class clown. He's mastered "sit," is working on his "stay" certification, and comes when called like the good boy he is. Wilson's Resume: • Social Skills: A+ with other dogs (playful but respectful), great with humans, TBD on cats and kids • Special Talents: Perfecting the art of taking up an entire couch, and unleashing the most hilarious beagle howl when he's outside • Quirks: Believes personal space is a myth. Will attempt to merge with you on the couch. Consider yourself warned. What Wilson Wants: He’ll adapt to whatever living situation comes with his favorite thing: YOU. Seriously, this boy just wants to be near his humans, whether that means shadowing you around the house or becoming a living blanket. If you're ready for a loyal, intelligent, cuddle monster, Wilson is the dog for you! The adoption fee for Wilson is $400. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Wilson please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. We will review your responses and be in contact to schedule a meet and greet at a time and place convenient for your family and our team member.
