Meet John. John is a 3 year old beagle mix. He weighs in at 35 pounds. He was part of a hoarding situation and came to Rover Rescue pretty timid. He has now been in his foster home a couple of weeks and his personality is starting to show. He still gets nervous in new situations, but he is improving. John would do best in a quieter home with no kids or older kids. He did really well with the kids he met at his last adoption event, but he does still startle easily. Originally we thought John might need a fenced yard due to not walking well on a leash. He is now doing great on leash. He even went for a walk at a local forest preserve. John rides well in the car as well. John has done well with house training. He has not had any accidents in the house. He will go in his crate with encouragement. He is usually pretty quiet. Every once in a while he will get a little whiney in there. John loves nothing more than to snuggle on the couch with his family. John is going to make a great addition to a family willing to be patient with him. It is so fun seeing him come out of his shell. Hi, my name is Gramps. Someone gave me the name of Gramps because I'm a little bit older, but you would never know it because I am so playful. I love to carry toys around and I will even bring them outside with me when I go out in the yard. I bring the toys up in my people's lap and I especially love to snuggle with my people. I enjoy being in a pack with other dogs and the cats are fine too. You would never know I'm an older beagle because I am such a happy, lovable, snuggly, sweet guy. I have been very friendly with children and any people that I meet.  I would prefer a fence yard however so that I can run and play in the yard. Story
Rollie was surrendered after his owner died. He had never lived inside until he came into rescue. He is now house and crate trained. He does love to run and play and hide his bones outside. He had very little socialization with other dogs and is a little dog selective (prefers females more than males). He's more of a loner than most. He has always been crated inside to avoid the mischief a beagle tends to get into with chewing items he isn't supposed to be chewing. It is more for his safety of not swallowing anything harmful. He will bark to let you know when he needs to go potty. He has been completely vetted. He deserves a home of his own to retire in and enjoy the rest of his life. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions.
